Chapter 833: No Class Anymore!

~7 min read 1,290 words

Heimu retracted her view, reopened the panel, and this time displayed the surveillance footage from Xi Lian's side.

A pastel room, a heap of dolls, and Xi Lian bound.

The image remained still, and the position coordinates had not moved.

Very good.

She then flipped the System Panel to the Memory page.

As expected.

Just like Ying and Ge Lei Xiu, a portion of Kesi Mo's Memory Library is locked.

The lock's design is identical, a permission seal, and a line of note with musical‑note symbols floats on the seal.

"Cheating is not allowed?"

Heimu sighed.

What a pity.

If the Memory could be read directly, she could at least piece together what happened to Ailixiya.

Now there are only fragments: Kesi Mo's fragments, Ge Lei Xiu's fragments, Ying's fragments.

The puzzle still lacks too many pieces.

She took a Crystal Flower from the dark layer.

Two colors already appear on the transparent petals: pink left by Ying, blue left by Ge Lei Xiu.

She handed the Crystal Flower to Kesi Mo.

"Just touch a petal."

Kesi Mo glanced at the Crystal Flower.

The Crystal Flower hovered quietly before his eyes.

Though a bit puzzled, he still reached out, gently tapping one of the transparent petals with his fingertip.

A very pale warm orange slowly surfaced on that petal.

The orange seeped from the petal edge toward the center, while the adjacent pink and blue each occupied separate petals, not blending.

Sure enough.

Heimu retrieved the Crystal Flower and held it up before her eyes.

Three petals, three colors.

Each time it contacts a heroic scion, it shines a color.

Kesi Mo's representative color is warm orange.

She returned the Crystal Flower to the dark layer.

Then she lifted her head and looked into the distance.

Some changes appeared in this space.

Far away, near the edge of this white sea region, a black dot appeared.

Heimu zoomed in, and the outline of the black dot sharpened; it was an exit, regular in shape, with clear edges, hovering in midair above the sea surface, with no corridors or passages connecting around it, like a door that had opened out of nowhere.

It seems this stage has been cleared.

Ying had previously said the environment of Past World Paradise could be altered at will; this exit is probably the reward hint left for her by the one behind the scenes.

Heimu stroked her chin, closed the panel, and turned to face the other three.

"There's an exit over there."

She raised a finger to indicate the direction; indeed, at the distant horizon where sea meets sky, there was a tiny black dot that would be missed without close inspection.

After speaking, Heimu lowered her head to glance at the white cube beneath her feet, then at the direction of the black dot; there was still a considerable distance from the cube to the exit.

Walking there isn't realistic; flying there she could carry people, but squeezing with the Magic Staff isn't very useful.

Her gaze swept the surface of the cube and finally settled on the Big Yellow Duck.

The inflatable Big Yellow Duck still sat quietly on the cube's edge, its round yellow body glinting with the characteristic plastic shine under soft light, its black plastic eyes staring blankly into the distance.

Earlier, when Ying fought, she sliced several snakes that tried to ambush the duck, leaving a few specks of green data residue on its surface, but otherwise the duck was unscathed.

Heimu lifted a hand, fingers slightly spread, and magical energy surged, enveloping the Big Yellow Duck, lifting it from the cube's edge and placing it steadily onto the water.

Milky water gently rippled beneath the duck, and the inflatable plastic made a faint "pop" as it touched the surface.

"Take this to get across," Heimu pointed at the duck with the Magic Staff.

Ying looked at the car‑sized inflatable duck and opened her mouth.

A scene flashed in her mind: the Fire‑Chasing Heroic Scions of Past World Paradise riding a Big Yellow Duck across the boundless sea.

That image layered over everything she'd experienced today, giving her a subtle, numb sense of calm.

She nodded.

Meanwhile, Ge Lei Xiu had already walked over.

She reached the cube's edge, deftly leapt onto the duck's tail, her feet wrapped in white silk sinking slightly into the inflatable plastic.

She glanced down at the duck, then looked up at Heimu; a faint satisfaction flickered in her light‑purple eyes, noting the duck felt nice.

Ying also got onto the duck and found a spot to sit.

Heimu stood near the duck's head, one hand resting on the brim of her hat.

The duck bobbed lightly on the water, then steadied.

Kesi Mo was the last to board the duck.

She took a step, paused, then took another step.

Her gait was slightly stiff.

Ying turned her head to glance at her, Kesi Mo instantly twisted his face away, pretending to look at the scenery on the sea surface.

The moment his right foot landed on the inflatable surface of the duck, his leg went weak for a moment.

His knee bent a few degrees, his center of gravity sank slightly, then he forcefully pulled himself back up with core strength.

He straightened up, walked forward a few steps expressionlessly, found the most remote spot at the duck's tail and sat down, back to the others.

Kesi Mo pulled her scarf upward, covering most of her face.

Her face remained cool and indifferent, but her heart was anything but indifferent at that moment.

She was frantically scrolling, and ever since she woke up she had noticed something off with her body.

A subtle, indescribable sense of dissonance.

While she was sitting on the cube earlier, she slipped her hand down her side and felt quietly, unnoticed by the others.

It was gone.

She froze at that moment.

Then, while Ge Lei Xiu was answering Ying's question, she touched her chest again.

It swelled.

And it wasn't small.

The clothing concealed it well, invisible from outside, but when her fingers brushed it, the soft, full curve made her brain halt completely at that instant.

Realizing this, her leg almost went weak again, and her knee trembled slightly on the inflatable plastic.

She inhaled deeply, propped her knee with her elbow, and buried her face in her palm.

On the surface, Kesi Mo appeared to be meditating with closed eyes.

In reality, she mentally scrolled through roughly a thousand bullet comments at the fastest speed of her life, each no more than three words but all ending with an exclamation mark.

Why!

When!

What's happening?!

Is this reasonable?!

No, this is utterly unreasonable; Ying and Ge Lei Xiu have both changed, so why shouldn't she? Yet her change is of a completely different nature from Ying's and Ge Lei Xiu's!!!

Can she change back!!?

Is this permanent!???

Do Ying and Ge Lei Xiu know?!

Probably not.

Does Black Curtain Lady know??

Wait!

Kesi Mo suddenly realized something.

Heimu just now gave her a glance.

That pause.

That gaze that quickly shifted away.

She knows!!!

Kesi Mo's warm orange eyes widened slightly as she looked toward Heimu seated at the front end of the duck.

Heimu was sitting sideways on the edge of the duck, one hand resting on her knee, the Magic Staff laid across her leg, talking to Ying about something, not looking this way at all.

Kesi Mo withdrew her gaze, staring at her own knee.

Her mind was still frantically scrolling.

Countless bullet comments raced through her mind at breakneck speed—shock, confusion, attempts at logical reasoning that failed and then devolved into self‑despair—but her cool, indifferent face showed nothing at all.
