Chapter 929: Q-version Wei Er Wei
Kaluoer didn't receive the "please don't ask" signal in the other's tone at all.
Heimu listened to Kaluoer's chattering behind her, her mouth corner twitched slightly, then she suppressed the smile and refocused her attention forward.
A leftward corner appeared ahead in the corridor; on the wall at the corner a crack ran from the ceiling to the floor, dark green light seeped from its edges, as if some glowing liquid was hidden behind the wall.
Heimu raised her hand to signal the team to slow, Sakura simultaneously gripped her sword hilt, after exchanging a glance the two, Heimu turned the corner first.
Then something sprang out from the shadows ahead.
With a "pat" sound, the shadow bounced as it hit the ground, like a rubber bullet fired from the darkness, landing precisely beneath the green light in the corridor's center, steady at the circle's midpoint.
?
Heimu lowered her head to look at the thing on the ground.
It was a Q-version Little Person.
Its height reached just above Heimu's knee, wearing a mini silver‑gray long dress, a single‑side ponytail perched over the edge of a tiny magical Top Hat, and it held a magic staff shorter than its own height.
She struck an extremely standard debut pose, right hand raising the staff to point diagonally at the ceiling, left hand resting on the hat's rim, head tilted, a sly smile at the corner of her mouth.
Heimu's gaze swept over her face and lingered on the left cheek.
There were several fine luminous green lines, their pattern identical to what had been seen on Ke Lai Yin's face before.
Corrosion marks.
The Little Person gave her little time to observe, inhaled deeply, and with a booming voice utterly mismatched to its size shouted, "This road I open—this tree I plant—if you wish to pass—"
She pointed the staff forward, the stray hair on the hat's rim swayed exaggeratedly with the motion, "Leave the toll money!"
The echo ricocheted back and forth in the corridor several times before fading slowly.
The whole area fell silent for two seconds.
From the corner behind Heimu, four heads poked out, from bottom to top: Kaluoer, Ge Lei Xiu, Hua, and Kesi Mo crouching at the back, alert, his helmet's pattern flashing wildly.
Heimu raised an eyebrow, and from the Little Person's attire, Top Hat, staff, and tilted‑head angle quickly matched a name in the database.
Wei Er Wei.
Imprint "Spiral".
But at normal proportions, Wei Er Wei's height should be similar to hers; the figure before her is clearly the wrong size—either Q‑versioned, shrunken, or some kind of clone or construct.
She leans toward handling the third possibility first.
Q-version Wei Er Wei was clearly pleased with her entrance effect; the staff spun half a circle at her fingertips, about to continue her "robbery proclamation," her gaze naturally swept over the heads behind Heimu and then precisely locked onto the largest, most conspicuous one.
Hua.
Q-version Wei Er Wei's staff slipped from her fingertips and clanged onto the floor.
Her violet‑colored round eyes widened to the physical limit in an instant, the spiral pattern in her pupils expanding a circle.
The Top Hat bounced off her head, flipped twice in the air before she instinctively reached out to catch it.
Her mouth opened and closed, closed and opened, repeating three times, then she forced out a broken‑toned exclamation from deep in her throat: "Whoa—Hua?!"
Hua lowered her head to look at the knee‑high Little Person on the ground, a flicker of confusion in her ice‑blue eyes, then she tilted her head slightly, the line of her jaw forming a smooth curve, and said, "... Wei Er Wei?"
Q-version Wei Er Wei gave no answer.
She was busy circling around Hua's calf, turning while looking upward, the angle of her upward gaze growing larger and larger until she nearly tipped backward, steadied only by her staff supporting her weight.
From her perspective, Hua's body stretched upward with a staggering proportion, each muscle reflecting a heavy presence under the green light, the delicate, serene face set upon such a torso created a visual impact comparable to seeing a doll's head on a heavy Mecha.
"You you you—how did you become like this?!"
Q-version Wei Er Wei's voice rose again, the staff pointing at Hua's biceps, the tip trembling, the gear ornament shaking with it, "How long have I been asleep?! Is the Past World Paradise's food really that good?! Did you take hormones?!"
Over at Heimu's side, Sakura turned her head toward her, gray‑purple eyes reading "Is this Wei Er Wei?".
Heimu gave a slight nod, signaling with her gaze to hold off drawing a blade.
Ge Lei Xiu quietly opened a sketchbook and began a quick drawing of Q-version Wei Er Wei on a fresh blank page.
Kaluoer had already stuck half her body out from behind Hua, warm golden eyes widened to about the same size as Q-version Wei Er Wei's, mouth forming a perfect O: "So cute!!!"
Kesi Mo's mask pattern flashed like a broken Nihong sign.
Heimu stepped forward, the heel of her high‑heeled short boots clicking crisply on the floor tiles, temporarily pulling everyone's attention away from Hua's muscles.
"Wei Er Wei."
She lowered her head to look at the Q-version Little Person before her, dark‑purple eyes meeting violet round eyes in the green light, "Are you the original? A clone? Or some kind of—construct?"
Q-version Wei Er Wei, hearing this, instantly pulled her gaze from Hua's biceps, the staff spun half a circle at her fingertips then snapped shut, chest out, chin slightly raised, her expression shifting from "shocked into speechless" to "extremely confident," the round cute little face's mouth corner curling sharply to one side, eyes narrowed into two curved arcs, a smug, indescribable wickedness shining through.
Though it was a cute Q‑style face, the expression twisted it into a villainous big‑boss aura.
"The original! One‑hundred percent original! Genuine! No deception for young or old!"
She slammed the staff onto the floor, the metal tip striking the tile with a crisp "ding," "Standing before you is Pursuing Fire Thirteen Yingjie, the Spiral‑imprint bearer, the greatest engineer, Magus, and drama master of the former civilization, Wei Er Wei! As for why I'm Q‑version—"
She paused, her left hand touching her chin, the thoughtful pose combined with her size making her look especially like a hamster plotting how to steal snacks.
Then she spread her hands and calmly added, "I'm not sure either, maybe Letu had a bug, but it doesn't affect the performance."
Heimu watched the luminous green corrosion marks on her face, spreading from her left cheek to her jaw, forming a strange contrast with her round facial contours.
A Q-version Wei Er Wei bearing corrosion marks stood in the center of the dim‑green corridor, claiming to be the original.
The credibility of this scene was probably about the same as when she once told Aisida, "I am the Black Tower's main tower."
