Chapter 956: There Are Others
Xing added a sentence, in a light and cheerful tone.
Fu Xuan stared at Xing for a moment, then slowly nodded.
Good, very good, the Pioneer's mind is still relatively normal, at least they still know how to emit positioning.
This Cognition slightly steadied her mood a little.
"So you are... are you right at the scene? Right near those two people?"
Fu Xuan continued to ask, keeping the calm she was striving to maintain.
Xing nodded.
"Of course, I'm here."
She lifted her phone a bit, so that Fu Xuan on the screen could see the street behind her: the stone‑paved road under moonlight, the shuttered shops on both sides, and the vague outlines of the two silhouettes in the distant street center. "Look, they're still there."
"I saw them both go from standoff to action with my own eyes. Let me tell you, the white‑haired one was unbelievably strong; a single sword froze an entire building into an ice pop, like a Magic trick. But the gray‑white haired one wasn't weak either; her Bubbles—"
Fu Xuan's gaze lingered on those two silhouettes in the corner of the screen for a second, and his breath paused for a second.
"Pioneer!"
Fu Xuan cut her off, slowing his speech as much as possible, as if coaxing a child away from a dangerous construction zone. "Listen to me. The white‑haired person you saw is Luofu's former Sword Leader Jing Liu. She is an extremely dangerous individual and is currently in a Magic‑yin body state; her actions are completely uncontrollable. I don't know why she's here, but her very existence is a massive safety hazard."
She paused, letting her words settle in Xing's ears for a moment, though she didn't know how much would remain.
"For your safety!"
Fu Xuan's voice unusually softened, "Please evacuate that area temporarily, do not approach, do not attempt contact, leave immediately now!"
Xing finished listening to that passage.
Then a flash of emotion again glimmered in her golden eyes.
"Wow."
"Lord Fu Xuan, you're really caring toward me. I didn't expect that, as someone who's only been in Luofu for a few days, I could receive such high attention from an Acting General. Is Luofu's leadership always this considerate of subordinates?"
Fu Xuan stared expressionlessly at the screen where Xing was visibly moved, his lips moved as if to say "you're overthinking it," but he ultimately chose to swallow those words.
Now is not the time to correct the Pioneer's thought process; the priority is to get her out of that dangerous zone and prevent the other side from recognizing Qingque, after all the original reception was for Qingque.
"In any case, evacuate first! I'll arrive at the scene soon; you don't need to risk staying there."
Fu Xuan said.
"Got it, got it, this is Xianzhou's hospitality."
Xing continued to sigh, fully immersed in her own emotion, "Love it, love it, so warm. I'll go back and give Luofu a five‑star review on the Galaxy Traveler review site."
Xing spoke while retreating deeper into the alley, but the phone's camera still faced the street, and the screen's image kept shaking.
Fu Xuan suddenly thought of something.
"Wait a moment."
She called Xing, "Are there any other people at the scene?"
When asked, Xing instinctively scratched the back of her head; a tuft of her gray, fluffy shoulder‑length hair tilted left, but she paid no mind, and her golden eyes scanned the rooftops of the opposite buildings.
Faintly she could see two vague silhouettes, one crouching nearby, the other standing on the roof edge, gesturing wildly.
"Uhh—" she elongated, "It seems there's... on the opposite roof."
Fu Xuan's eyebrows knit again.
"Other people? Who?"
Xing squinted toward that rooftop.
The moonlight was dim; the roof's outline was blurry in the night, the tiles' color almost merged with the sky.
She strained to discern for a moment, then shook her head.
"Too dark, can't see clearly."
She extended the phone a bit forward, trying to let Fu Xuan see the opposite roof through the camera, but the image under moonlight was just a vague shadow, "From the sound it sounds like a girl, over there—"
Before she finished, a piercing female voice erupted from the opposite roof.
"Fight! Fight! Fight!!!"
After the shout came a string of excited, arrogant laughter that echoed in the night sky for a long while before fading.
"Jing Liu, where's your sword? Draw it! Pull it out! Let the juniors see the former Sword Leader's style!"
She shouted again, her tone more arrogant than before, so arrogant that any Reason String person would break into a cold sweat.
"Qingque, your Bubbles again! That Ice Sword swallowing move was so cool! Show it again! Swallow that white hair too!"
Fu Xuan squinted slightly.
"What the heck?"
She was completely unfamiliar with that voice; its pure, playful vibe made her instinctively uneasy. Appearing in the lockdown zone at this moment, crouching on a roof to cheer both sides, the person's identity and purpose were unclear.
But Fu Xuan no longer had the bandwidth to analyze that voice.
Because as her gaze swept over the central street view on the screen, her pupils suddenly contracted; when Xing thrust the phone out, the camera happened to focus on the central area where Jing Liu and the gray‑white haired figure were confronting each other.
Jing Liu moved in the frame.
Almost without warning, a casual slash formed an Ice Sword in the air; its arc glimmered briefly under moonlight, then a blanket of frost exploded outward from her as the center.
The white chill surged forward along the stone road like a wave, extremely fast; wherever it passed, countless tiny ice crystals instantly formed, reflecting a dazzling white glare under the moon.
Immediately, the gray‑white long hair opposite Jing Liu also moved.
She raised her right hand, and a string of white Bubbles welled up in her palm.
Those Bubbles expanded rapidly the instant they left her palm, growing from pigeon‑egg size to human‑head size in a blink, then forming an arced wall of Bubbles before her.
When the frost impact struck the Bubble wall, it emitted a strange sound, like something being swallowed and compressed with a gurgle.
The surface of the Bubbles writhed rapidly upon contact with the frost, sucking all the icy blue chill into their transparent membranes; the Bubbles themselves froze halfway, hovering mid‑air, becoming semi‑transparent ice crystal spheres.
But the frost shockwave was not entirely blocked by the Bubbles.
An ice blade shot through the gap between the Bubbles; although it didn't hit the person with grey-white long hair, it flew straight toward the side of the street.
Xing was standing there holding a mobile phone.
When she saw that white light flying toward her, her brain's reaction speed only allowed her to do one thing: she took a step back.
Then the ice blade struck the mobile phone in her hand.
