After Mevis left, Rosvisser stayed by Leon's side.

Around nine o’clock, Leon shifted slightly in his sleep, mumbling faintly.

The doctor had said that Leon was recovering well, and there was a high probability he would wake up tonight.

Only then did Rosvisser feel relieved.

It seemed that her eldest daughter, who had been bustling around, wasn’t as burdened as she thought. She had expected the tea snacks to take several more hours.

Once the doctors had left, the room was quiet again, leaving just Rosvisser and the unconscious Leon.

She sat at the bedside, quietly watching him, while the occasional laughter of Mevis and Noa playing in the backyard floated in through the window.

Suddenly, the thought that had been interrupted by Mevis earlier surged back into her mind—this time, with a small upgrade.

"Since he’s waking up tonight, he’ll have to fulfill our promise. Better do it before the kids interrupt us again."

Rosvisser muttered to herself, "But knowing this guy, he might try to weasel out of it, so I’d better prepare."

With that, Rosvisser stood up and quickly left the room.

She walked to the door of her daughters' rooms. Without knocking, she gently pushed the door open and softly called out:"Mom’s coming in. Is anyone here?"

No response.

It seemed they were all still playing games with Mevis in the backyard. Perfect.

Rosvisser stepped inside and made her way to Aurora’s room.

When the daughters grew a little older, they no longer shared the same bed. Rosvisser arranged a separate small bedroom for each of them.

At first, Moon wasn’t agreeable to the idea. She often sneaked into Noa’s room in the middle of the night and stayed there until morning.

When discovered, Noa couldn’t bring herself to scold her younger sister and eventually gave in, allowing them to continue sleeping together as before.

As for Aurora and Mevis-Noa, they didn’t share the same intense "sister complex" tendencies. They obediently slept in their respective rooms.

Rosvisser pushed open the door to Aurora's bedroom. The room was decorated in a cute, girlish pink theme, with a teddy bear sitting on the bedside table—a gift Leon had given Rosvisser long ago.

Years ago, Aurora had fallen ill and suffered from a high fever for several days. Even after recovering, she had recurring nightmares for days on end. Despite everyone’s efforts, no method seemed to work.

Finally, Leon suggested, "Let your mom’s teddy bear keep you company. It’ll protect you in your dreams."

Whether it was psychological comfort or the possibility that the General’s words carried some magical authority, once the adorable teddy bear was placed in Aurora’s room, the nightmares stopped.

From then on, the teddy bear had remained in Aurora’s room ever since.

Brushing off the memory, Rosvisser walked to Aurora’s bed and bent down, rummaging under it.

After a while, she pulled out a wooden box and opened it.

Inside were various bottles, jars, and intricate diagrams for magic formations.

Aurora had collected these unfinished and experimental creations, storing them here but rarely revisiting them.

Sifting through the contents, Rosvisser found a small brown pill.

She picked it up and held it under the light for inspection. The pill had a faint sheen, almost resembling a coffee candy.

"Perfect. Aurora, Mom’s borrowing this for now. Later, I’ll have your dad make you another one."

The queen smiled in satisfaction, closed the box, and returned it to its place.

Standing up, she gazed at the pill in her hand, a mischievous curve forming at her lips.

"Leon, tonight, there’s no escaping me."

Around midnight, Leon slowly opened his eyes.

His first sensation wasn’t confusion but a faint pain in his right cheek.

"Ugh~~"

The last thing he remembered before passing out was his ever-dutiful daughter rushing over and landing a punch square on his face.

Judging by the force, she must’ve opened all nine gates.

Leon tried to sit up, glancing at the clock on the wall.

"It’s already past midnight. Everyone’s probably asleep..."

The room was dark, and Rosvisser wasn’t by his side.

Blinking, Leon looked toward the study. Sure enough, the light was still on.

He pushed back the covers and got out of bed. His body wasn’t fully recovered, so he had to lean against the wall as he slowly made his way to the study door.

Rosvisser was sitting behind the desk, reading. Judging by the elegant book cover, it was likely another romance novel.

She wore a thin strap nightgown, one shoulder strap slipping off her smooth, rounded shoulder.

The soft curves of her chest were faintly visible, with a dragon pattern tracing a line down the mysterious valley, enticing imagination.

Under the desk, her long legs were crossed, and her dragon-scaled slippers dangled precariously from her fair, delicate foot.

Rosvisser flipped a page in her book with one hand while twirling a strand of her hair with the other, her head lowered as if completely unaware of Leon’s presence.

"Ahem—"Leon cleared his throat twice, announcing himself.

"Hmm?"Rosvisser finally looked up toward the doorway. "Oh, you’re awake."

Closing the novel, she rested her chin in her hands, smiling with narrowed eyes. "I thought you’d be out for days."Her tone was gentle, laced with concern and relief.

Leon froze for a moment, blinking. This side of his dragoness wife felt... unusual.

Still, he didn’t press the issue. He nodded and replied, "Our daughter held back. Otherwise, I’d probably be out cold for weeks."

"Mhm, mhm."Rosvisser hummed in agreement, then paused before asking tentatively, "So… does that mean we can move forward with our agreement now?"

Leon felt a chill run down his spine at her words.

He tried to assess his current physical state—How to describe it… It was like he hadn’t done anything, yet he still felt the exhaustion of completing a 24-hour battle drill.

If he went ahead with their “agreement” in this condition, Rosvisser would undoubtedly dominate the entire process.

Worse still, this stirred up some unpleasant memories.

Back during his adulthood oath ceremony, he’d had a similar experience. The dragoness had implemented a "three days of smoldering flames, five days of blazing infernos" regime, ensuring his body stayed weak so she could suppress him continuously.

So...

"I just fought a battle. Can I rest for a few days?" Leon attempted to negotiate.

"But we agreed, didn’t we? Once we defeated Shadow, we’d fulfill our promise immediately," Rosvisser replied. "Who knows when the next enemy will show up? We have to seize the moment. You said that yourself."

"..."Leon rubbed his forehead. "But look at me. I can’t even stand steadily right now. Surely, I won’t be at my best, right? So let me rest for a few days, and then we can talk."

"Hmm… well, if that’s the case, fine."Rosvisser stood up, picked up a cup from the desk, and walked toward him. "We’ll do it another day then."

"Hmm?""Why is this dragoness being so understanding today?" Leon wondered suspiciously. "Something doesn’t feel right. Is she planning to ambush me after I fall asleep?"

Or…Had her inner housewife persona finally awakened?Did she now understand the struggles of a married man?

"Here, drink this first," Rosvisser said, handing him a cup of coffee.

Leon raised a brow. "Coffee? Drinking this at midnight—won’t it keep me awake?"

"Don’t overthink it. It just looks like coffee. It’s a special nutrient concoction the doctors made for you. It’ll help you recover faster."

"Oh, okay."

Leon downed the “nutrient concoction” in one gulp and licked his lips. "Hmm, tastes a bit like chocolate. Not bad."

Then he frowned slightly. "But I remember my previous nutrient drinks weren’t this color. Is this a new formula?"

Rosvisser smiled slyly and nodded. "That’s right."

"Oh, what’s the main ingredient?"

"Dragon Essence Boost."

"Oh, Dragon Ess—wait, what? Dragon what?!"

"Dragon Essence Boost~"

"Crack—"The cup slipped from Leon’s hand, shattering on the floor, much like his already fragile composure.

"You… Isn’t Dragon Essence Boost ridiculously hard to make? Where did you even get it?" Leon asked, unwilling to believe it.

"Oh, it’s not from an alchemist. Aurora made it.""Isn’t our daughter brilliant?"

"Brilliant my foot!"

Rosvisser propped her chin in her hand, her silver tail swaying slightly behind her. Barefoot, she slowly advanced toward him, a mischievous grin lighting up her face.

Leon instinctively backed away in time with her steps until his back pressed against the study door.

Rosvisser leaned in close, her eyes locking onto his with a playful glint as she feigned innocence.

"I’ve already agreed to let you rest. So don’t even think of doing anything strange to me… hubby~."

Leon closed his eyes in despair.

Dragon Essence Boost, I hate you.Aurora, I hate you.Rosvisser, I hate you!
