Vol. 6 Ch. 24
Leon understood the meaning behind Rosvisser’s gratitude.
Back in her memory world, when Rosvisser was tormented by her thesis, it was Leon’s help that allowed her to finally complete it.
"Aurora said that ‘changing your memory’ feels more like a dream," Rosvisser murmured.
But that “dream” lingered warmly in her heart, especially the memories tied to Leon. To this day, she could recall every detail of that dream.
"My sister is more than a year older than me. When we were young, neither of us ever saw our parents. So, if I calculate the timeline, they must have already spent at least three years searching for the crown by then."
Listening to Rosvisser’s reasoning, Leon followed her train of thought but couldn’t help raising another question.
"If the queen’s search for the crown was such an important legacy, why would your grandmother, Veronica, hide it from you? Especially when it’s tied to something as significant as the crown’s existence? What’s the point of keeping it a secret?"
Rosvisser paused, pondering for a moment before replying.
"There are two possibilities.First, the fewer people who know about the Five Element Crown, the better. Over the past thousand years, no less than a dozen races have fought to claim it. If more people found out that my father might have a lead on the crown, it would put all of our lives at risk.Second, Grandmother may have wanted us to imagine the danger without actually involving us. More importantly, she may have been stopping us not just to protect us, but to prove the greatness of their endeavor."
Leon nodded in agreement, adding his own perspective:
"It’s also possible it’s a mix of both. For something as significant as the crown, returning it to its rightful owner would likely require a grand-scale adventure. If it took centuries of sacrifice from families and yet remains unresolved, how could we, who’ve only just glimpsed a fraction of the story, possibly step in and finish it?"
"Exactly," Rosvisser agreed. "Since Grandmother has always kept this hidden, I think it’s best not to interfere for now. Otherwise, we might not only fail to help but also end up making a mess of things."
Her concern wasn’t unfounded.
Without clear communication or shared information, acting rashly could easily backfire.
For now, Leon and Rosvisser decided to simply speculate on the situation without taking any immediate action.
If things truly spiraled out of control, Veronica would undoubtedly inform them herself.
"Please, with such a powerful son-in-law, why wouldn’t she take advantage of me?" Leon teased, attempting to lighten the mood.
Afterward, Leon sprawled across the bed with a mountain of documents, reading through them as he shared his insights with Rosvisser. Not a single idle word was exchanged.
As midnight arrived, the atmosphere softened.
After tidying up the books in the study, the two of them returned to bed.
"Do you have any free time coming up?" Rosvisser asked.
"Yes, why?" Leon replied.
Lying side by side, they stared at the ceiling, their hands resting on their chests in an oddly synchronized manner.
"Let’s take Noa and the others out for a bit of fun," Rosvisser suggested.
"Sure. But why the sudden idea to go out?"
"Do you really think Aurora lent me the recording crystal for no reason?"
In the dim light, Leon heard Rosvisser’s amused laughter beside him.
"Alright, alright. Let’s plan something tomorrow and take the girls out for a trip."
"Okay. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
After a brief pause, Rosvisser suddenly called out in a sweet, teasing voice,"Leon哥哥 (Leon~ Big Brother~)"
In an instant, General Leon’s composure shattered, and goosebumps rose all over his body.
"Why are you calling me that now?"
"Isn’t this how mothers are? At first, they’re reluctant to try it, but after doing it once, they can’t stop," she replied mischievously.
"What am I supposed to do? Don’t like it?"
"Leon Big~ Brother~," she cooed again.
Leon groaned, burying his face in his hands, unable to handle Rosvisser’s playful teasing.
"Sleep, sleep!""Mhm, Leon."
…
The next day, Rosvisser finished organizing her work schedule, ensuring she had a few days to relax.
"Aurora, you mentioned that game yesterday. Where do we go to play it?"
"So soon?" Aurora’s eyes sparkled as she replied,"The original location was in Sky City. But recently, they said the structure of Sky City had become unstable, with frequent earthquakes. The Tower Lord evacuated the residents, and Sky City is currently under reconstruction. So, we’ll have to go somewhere else to play."
The details of the battle against the Ultimate Fear were intentionally kept secret following discussions between Leon and the Dragon Kings.
The reasoning was simple: even though the Ultimate Fear had been defeated, revealing the truth would unnecessarily stir panic among the dragons. While the Tower Lord’s approach to managing the aftermath was imperfect, Leon and the other Dragon Kings understood the decision to prioritize the safety of the dragon populace.
From their perspective, the Tower Lord’s intentions were clear, and that was enough.
If the truth were made public, it would undoubtedly create a wave of controversy and impact the Tower Lord’s reputation and the future development of Sky City.
Keeping it a secret, however, meant Leon, Odin, and the others would remain "unsung heroes."
"But guess what?"
General Leon was already hailed as "the hero of the dragons"! He hardly needed another title.
As for Odin and the rest, they didn’t particularly care about such recognition either.
With the shadow over the dragon lineage lifted, Constantine was preparing to rebuild his reputation as soon as the Tower Lord and the academy resumed normal operations.
All things considered, the outcome wasn’t bad.
"Since Sky City is still under reconstruction, where should we go instead?"
Rosvisser answered, "The former residents of Sky City have been temporarily relocated to a place called ‘The Island in the Clouds.’ We can go there to play."
The Island in the Clouds, a secluded paradise for the dragons, was discussed by the Tower Lord and Leon’s group during the aftermath of the battle against the Ultimate Fear. It became the refuge for Sky City’s displaced residents.
"Alright, should we invite Aunt Isha and the others like last time?"
"Sure! This game is more fun with lots of people."
"Great, I’ll write a letter to Aunt Isha right away," Rosvisser said.
Turning to Noa, she added, "Also, contact Helena and Claudia."
A giant bird carrying the letters soon returned with replies, though the responses weren’t as favorable as they’d hoped.
"Aunt Isha is currently on an exchange visit with another clan, and Aunt Claudia is unavailable. But Helena will meet us on the Island in the Clouds," Noa reported.
Moon looked at the letters, her ahoge drooping despondently.
"That’s so disappointing… Isha and Claudia can’t join us for the group activity?"
Leon, observing the situation, muttered under his breath,"Mhm, just one glowing one is enough, and the other overpowered heroes should stay firmly banned!"
Aurora counted the participants and frowned."If Aunt Isha and Aunt Claudia can’t come, we won’t have enough people for the game."
"How short are we?" Noa asked.
"Just two," Aurora replied.
"Mom, could we ask Anna and Sister Sherry to join us?" Moon turned to Rosvisser.
Rosvisser gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry, Moon, but Anna and the others are busy as well."
"Ah… so we won’t be able to play! And winter break is almost over!"
"If we’re only two short—"
Rosvisser and the young dragon girls turned toward the source of the voice, seeing Leon speak up.
"I happen to know two perfect candidates."
