Chapter 389 : This Is It, I'm Really Done For. As Far As The Eye Can See, It's All Beautiful Young Ladies.
In the room next to Felyn's.
The luxurious room was hung with banners of the Order of Divine Order, indicating the identity of the group within.
"Lord Divine Child, must you really do this?"
Several elderly men knelt before a young woman. Even though a black silk blindfold covered her eyes, the old men still dared not raise their heads to look at her face.
A god cannot be looked upon directly, and the same was true for a Divine Child.
"Yes. The future Divine Child of the Church of Truth is not returning. I want to go and ask her why."
"But she is now..."
"I will go ask her in private."
The blindfolded young woman slowly rose and walked toward the door. "I will wait for her in her car. No one will find out."
Felyn didn't notice the blindfolded young woman near him. He was currently heading downstairs with Daiyi.
He had just run into Bernice in the hallway, so Felyn had handed Olivia over to her, asking her to take Olivia home first and then come back to pick him up.
Bernice's divine art could only transport one person at a time. Unwilling to let Olivia get caught up in this chaos, Felyn had her go home first.
Daiyi's gaze drifted to Felyn from time to time. She still remembered how she had felt when she saw Olivia secretly smelling Felyn's scent on his back just now.
It felt a little... a little strange.
And now, she was being taken to Felyn's home.
"Felyn, that young lady just now was...?" Daiyi asked tentatively.
"Oh, Olivia. She's also a member of the Sorester family."
"A distant young lady of your family? Does that mean you're not related by blood?"
"Uh, technically, yes."
Olivia's ancestors had saved the head of the Sorester family, which was why they were specially permitted to join the Sorester family name.
From a bloodline perspective, the two of them were completely unrelated.
They just shared the same surname.
Felyn found Daiyi's questions tonight to be unusually detailed. He thought she was about to mock him or make some of her usual cruel jokes.
But she didn't.
Felyn only felt Daiyi's shoulders beside him relax, as if she had let out a sigh of relief in her heart.
What was wrong with her?
Before he could think too much about it, Felyn and Daiyi had already stepped out of the building and were running toward the school gate.
If only, if only they could get to that place!
If only they could get into that car!
But after just a few steps, Felyn sensed something was wrong.
Why did it seem like everyone around was looking at him?
"Isn't that Felyn?"
"It looks like him. There's a noble young lady with dark green eyes with him too."
"Quick, quick, send a message to Lady Adelina."
"Instead of teaming up with Lady Zervanie to be her partner, he's here holding another girl's hand?! Where is justice in this world!"
"Don't be silly, report to Lady Zervanie at once."
Felyn felt that after he passed each person, they would take out a communication sigil and send a message to someone.
‘What was wrong with everyone?’
‘What kind of rumor was being spread about me now?’
But soon, Felyn discovered it wasn't a rumor at all.
"You must be Mr. Felyn? Lady Zervanie has been looking for you. I'll take you to her."
Felyn looked at the completely unfamiliar, cute girl in front of him, not understanding what she was saying. "Zervanie? Looking for me?"
"Yes, aren't you Lady Zervanie's partner? And you actually dare to say Lady Zervanie's name directly, that's so disrespectful!"
Felyn was about to say something, but he suddenly felt the world go dark for a moment.
In the time it took for them to exchange just a few sentences, a large crowd had gathered around them out of nowhere.
What on earth was happening?!
"Mr. Felyn, before you go to Miss Zervanie, please come with us first. Miss Adelina is looking for you."
Several people in the crowd grabbed Felyn's arms, preventing him from leaving.
"Hey, we were here first!"
"Don't be ridiculous. Is this the kind of thing where being first matters? Felyn is ours."
"I was here first," is a line often heard in a romantic battlefield.
But adding the word "ours" made it extremely strange.
"What do you mean 'ours'? He clearly belongs to Lady Zervanie."
"Are you kidding? Lady Adelina wants Felyn. Who could possibly stop her?"
"Huh? So our Lady Zervanie wants Felyn, and you think you can just snatch him away?!"
‘Wait a minute!’
Felyn really wanted to shout.
‘Adelina, Zervanie!’
‘Can the two of you please not let your battlefield extend to other people!’
‘Take these people away!’
At this moment, Felyn was truly surrounded by beautiful young ladies.
The number of people around him had far exceeded ten; there were probably thirty or forty of them.
Heaven knows where they all came from.
Hearing so many people shouting "Felyn, Felyn," Felyn's heart genuinely started to panic.
"Hey! You students over there, what on earth is going on?!"
A squad of patrol guards in royal armor quickly noticed the commotion and hurried over, wanting to quell the chaos.
Seeing these guards, Felyn finally felt a glimmer of hope.
But the guards didn't immediately intervene in the dispute. Instead, they first sized Felyn up.
Wasn't the target Her Highness the Princess wanted the very young man before them?
"Are you Mr. Felyn?"
Felyn had thought his saviors had arrived, but hearing them also call out his name with such precision, his heart skipped a beat.
These people were definitely sent by Dorothy, weren't they?!
Fortunately, the young ladies around him were about to start fighting over him, and the scene descended into utter chaos.
The royal guards had no choice but to first maintain order, leaving Felyn to the side.
"Felyn, are you satisfied now?" Daiyi said softly in his ear.
"Satisfied with what?"
"Thirty young ladies are about to fight over you. Seeing how popular you are, shouldn't you be happy?"
The corner of Felyn's mouth twitched as his gaze swept over the chaotic scene before him.
The people summoned by the three young ladies were now entangled with each other, each preventing the others from taking Felyn away.
But...
But it seemed like no one was paying attention to Felyn anymore.
Felyn took a deep breath, pulled Daiyi, and slowly shuffled along the ground, quietly slipping through the noisy crowd.
"Wait, Felyn ran away!"
But it was too late.
That sentence, along with the group of young ladies, was left far behind by Felyn and Daiyi.
It wasn't until he pulled Daiyi into a patch of woods that he finally let out a long sigh of relief.
"It seems the girls around you all like you very much. They've already thrown caution to the wind and mobilized all their resources to find you."
A faint blush from the exertion appeared on Daiyi's face, and a few strands of hair stuck to the corner of her mouth.
Felyn was in no mood to reply, because he saw many people running over one after another on the originally remote path.
Most of these people had likely gotten the news and were coming after him.
This was bad.
This was no longer a problem of thirty young ladies.
This was now a problem of several hundred young ladies.
Felyn thought hard, but no matter how he wracked his brain, he couldn't come up with a good solution.
"I have an idea, Felyn."
Daiyi opened her mouth, finding it somewhat difficult to speak.
The words she had said countless times as a joke in the past now felt impossible to say.
"As long as the two of us are lovers... as long as we act like it, they probably won't look at us."
"Act like what?"
"O-of course, what lovers do. If we're lovers, they shouldn't pay attention. What do you think, want to give it a try?"
Pretending to be lovers was a past contract mission for Felyn and Daiyi.
Since it was a contract mission, there was nothing to be shy about.
"Okay."
Just then, a few girls came jogging over from a distance. It was the perfect time to test it out.
Daiyi pulled Felyn out of the bushes and onto the small path.
Just as the gazes of the passersby in the distance were about to make out their faces, Daiyi threw herself into Felyn's arms, pressing him against a nearby tree.
Felyn could feel Daiyi's soft body against his, could feel her breast and stomach rise and fall with her breathing.
This time, Felyn saw Daiyi's eyes clearly.
This was the first time he had ever looked at Daiyi's eyes from such a close distance.
Her dark green eyes truly seemed to hold a magical power, radiating all the beauty of the young woman.
They were very close, their noses almost touching.
The few girls not far away saw this intimate scene and looked away, embarrassed, not watching them.
But as the girls passed by, Felyn could feel Daiyi's body tense up, and she let out a slight, embarrassed whimper.
He never thought this girl Daiyi was actually so innocent and easily shy.
‘Could it be... that the mischievous persona she showed before was actually just an act?’
‘Or perhaps, Daiyi was actually just... an innocent girl who was all talk and no action, who only enjoyed teasing with her words?’
"Fe-Felyn, put your hand on my back..." Daiyi said intermittently in his ear.
"But..."
‘But Daiyi, you're wearing a backless formal dress!’
"Otherwise, they'll find out..."
"But I think they seem even more awkward than we are..."
After he said that, Felyn felt a light bite on his shoulder.
"Alright, alright, I get it."
Felyn's hand slowly came to rest on Daiyi's back, feeling the smooth, delicate skin there.
Daiyi's skin was incredibly silky. Though it might be an exaggeration, Felyn felt that if he didn't apply any force, his hand would most likely slide right off her back.
The two of them held each other just like that, like lovers who would go their separate ways after tonight.
"Da-Daiyi... they've gone far away."
"Mmm..."
Daiyi hummed in Felyn's embrace but didn't get up right away.
Felyn tried to gently push Daiyi away but found her hands wrapped around his neck, somewhat resisting his action.
Their body heat seemed to melt their clothes, making them stick together.
A moment later.
Daiyi finally rose from Felyn's embrace. She used her hand to tuck the hair scattered on her shoulders behind her ear, revealing the tips of her ears, which were flushed bright red.
She averted her eyes and didn't say a single word.
For Daiyi, who was best at teasing him in situations like this, to not say a word was already very unusual.
"Are we going to walk to the school gate like this the whole way? Do we have to hug every time we see someone?" Felyn walked two steps ahead alone, looking at the crowd in the distance, where it seemed people were having their portraits painted.
"If you don't want to be caught by them."
The sound of high heels came from behind him. Felyn could feel his fingertips being tentatively touched by hers.
Then, Daiyi slowly took Felyn's hand.
"Let's go, Felyn. If we don't get moving, they'll really find us."
