Chapter 570 : Is That What You Think, Miss Valeria?

~7 min read 1,249 words

At the door of Felyn's dormitory.

"Your Highness, is Felyn not here?"

"Mhm, and you are?"

Sylvain had changed into her male uniform, taking on the appearance of a boy.

"I am Valeria Asmodeus. Daughter of the Elder of the Church of Samsara." Valeria greeted Sylvain.

"Oh, Miss Valeria of the Church of Samsara. Felyn didn't come back all night. Do you need something from him? I can pass on the message for you."

Sylvain looked at the beautiful young lady before her, thinking to herself that this was yet another beautiful girl she had never seen before.

Mr. Felyn, just how many beautiful young ladies do you know?

"It's nothing much. I just wanted to invite him to participate in the Lianlora Hero's Festival together."

"Understood. Then you are his...?"

Sylvain had already taken out her communication sigil, preparing to report to Dorothy.

As Her Highness's "sister," she naturally had to complete the task Her Highness Dorothy had assigned.

Monitor every girl around Felyn!

"Um, I am his..."

Valeria didn't know what to say.

Ex-girlfriend... that kind of thing only needed to be said once. Spreading it around would only lead to her own embarrassment in the end; Felyn didn't acknowledge it at all.

*Client?* But she felt she couldn't bring that up with Sylvain either.

"Let me guess." Seeing Valeria's hesitant appearance, Sylvain's spirits were instantly lifted. "You and Felyn had a relationship before, right?"

"Mhm..."

"A very intimate one?"

"Yes..."

"But it's over now, and you've returned to a normal relationship with him."

"Yes..."

Sylvain nodded at Valeria, indicating that she understood.

*This is too easy to guess.*

She then quietly sent a message to Dorothy.

"Your Highness, Felyn's ex-girlfriend came looking for him. She wants to team up with him. From the looks of it, she wants to get back together with Felyn."

Just as Sylvain was about to ask Valeria for more details to report accurately to Dorothy, she saw Felyn actually walking out of the room across the street.

"M-Mr. Felyn?!"

Sylvain covered her mouth, her face full of disbelief.

Because she saw that Felyn was followed by the two young ladies, Daiyi and Zervanie.

*What did they do... last night?!*

Valeria followed Sylvain's gaze and saw Felyn.

She also saw Daiyi behind Felyn.

The Church of Truth was a neutral church, but in recent years, it had been subtly getting closer to the Church of Order.

As one of the three major churches, the Church of Samsara naturally began to see the Church of Truth as an enemy.

"Why are you in Daiyi's room?" Sylvain asked.

"I just stopped by Daiyi's place on my way back to school this morning, that's all." Felyn casually made up an excuse.

He saw Valeria standing at his dormitory door and found it a bit strange.

But he couldn't be bothered to talk to her, so Felyn simply pulled Daiyi and Zervanie's hands and walked towards the other side of the street. "Your Highness, we're going to get breakfast first."

Seeing Felyn, with a young lady in each hand, completely ignoring her, the smile on Valeria's lips froze awkwardly.

Her fingers twitched in the air, then she quickly walked up and patted Felyn's shoulder.

"Felyn~"

She then put her hands behind her back, adopting a乖巧 (guāiqiǎo - well-behaved/docile) look.

Her golden eyes were no longer filled with pressure, but looked like melted gold.

"Felyn, good morning."

"Mhm. What's up?"

Valeria's foot swayed unconsciously on the ground. "I... I came to apologize to you. I shouldn't have mentioned the contract to Miss Viloti in Varir Village. I really didn't know!"

"Then you should go apologize to Viloti, not me."

Zervanie's arm tightened around Felyn's. She noticed that there seemed to be an indescribable relationship between Valeria and Felyn.

"Felyn... I really didn't mean it." Valeria reached out and tugged on Felyn's collar, her eyelashes lowered, standing there as if she had made a mistake. "I came this time just to apologize. To show my sincerity, let's participate in the Hero's Festival together, shall we?"

She smiled at Felyn. "I already know the location of one of Lianlora's relics. Let's go find it together, okay?"

The Lianlora Hero's Festival was a commemorative event simulating Princess Lianlora's slaying of the evil dragon. It divided Lianlora's heroic deeds into three parts.

Finding the equipment, embarking on the journey, and slaying the evil dragon.

The first two parts needed to be completed by the participants within two months.

What Valeria was talking about was the first activity. Participants needed to search for Lianlora's relics throughout the entire capital district. Only by finding a relic would they be qualified to enter the next round of tasks.

It was rumored that these relics were personally placed in various locations in the capital by Her Highness Lianlora before the start of the Hero's Festival.

Only after completing the first two activities could one participate in the final event held at the Lianlora Hero's Festival: slaying the evil dragon.

Of course, the Hero's Festival couldn't possibly find a real dragon.

It was just a battle against a replica of the evil dragon that was rumored to have been created by Lianlora.

"Telling me the location of the relic just like that, is that okay?" Felyn raised an eyebrow, looking at Valeria with some surprise. He didn't think Valeria would be so kind.

"It's okay, Felyn. I didn't do well before, but the time we spent together in the past, I was really happy, so... so..."

*So she wants to rekindle the old flame?*

Both Daiyi and Zervanie couldn't help but frown, but neither interrupted Valeria's conversation.

"And this time, I found Her Highness Lianlora's Hero's Sword! If we can obtain this sword, we'll most likely win the Hero's Festival," Valeria added, laying out her terms.

There were many of Lianlora's relics. The armor, sword, spear, and other items she had used were randomly hidden in various places in the capital.

These relics could all help in slaying the evil dragon in the final Hero's Festival.

That's why Valeria said that by obtaining the sword, they would most likely win.

Because a sword was a much better relic than armor or a dagger.

"Sorry, Valeria." Felyn still refused. "I already have someone in mind, so I don't plan on being with you this time. Maybe next time."

*Next time?*

The Lianlora Hero's Festival was held once every ten years. Next time, Valeria wouldn't even be in the capital.

"Felyn, wait." Valeria grabbed the turning Felyn, a little anxious. "Who are you with? Miss Daiyi? Or Miss Zervanie? Aren't they both just your clients?"

"How do you know they're my clients?" Felyn asked with a frown.

"Because... because..."

Daiyi's cool voice sounded by Felyn's ear. "Because Miss Valeria believes that your status doesn't match ours, so if it weren't for the contract, we would never have met, nor could we be together like this now."

Daiyi crossed her arms, her dark green eyes overpowering the golden light in Valeria's. "Miss Valeria, you're actually trying to say that we are only with Felyn because of a contractual relationship, not because we genuinely care for him."

"Or rather, you subconsciously feel that a person like Felyn is not worthy of our efforts, not good enough for us. Is that what you think, Miss Valeria?"
