Chapter 577 : That Long-Awaited Phrase
After coming out of the maid cafe, the man immediately left Holmhoth.
Felyn and Zervanie, who was dressed in a maid outfit, carefully followed behind him, not daring to relax for a moment.
Along the way, Felyn took off the maid headband for Zervanie, at least making her a little less conspicuous.
But at this moment, wearing the unique maid outfit she had made herself, she was still very eye-catching.
Fortunately, she was wearing a mask, so no one could see her true face.
Even with her iconic long, silver-white hair flowing behind her, no one would think that this was the great Lady Zervanie.
How could the Zervanie who usually appeared in the spotlight be walking down the street in a maid outfit now?
Even Felyn couldn't believe it.
"Zervanie, don't you find this road very familiar?"
Felyn looked at the surrounding environment, feeling as if he had been here before.
But he was completely inept at recognizing roads and failed to realize that this was the path leading to the Claude residence.
"Not sure, I rarely come here either." Zervanie had never been to Claude's home either and couldn't recognize it.
The man didn't take the main gate, but a side entrance.
After the man passed through the guards' security check and entered a vast manor, Felyn and Zervanie's tracking journey came to a complete end.
They just needed to walk to the main gate to see which family's crest was hanging on the manor to know which family had found the Lianlora relic.
As Felyn and Zervanie walked along the wall towards the main gate, they were spotted by Claude, who was chatting with Adelina and Seraphinia inside the manor.
Even from such a distance, Claude recognized Felyn's figure at a glance.
In just a tenth of a second, Claude knew what Felyn's purpose for coming here was.
He, who was originally in the capital, had come here specifically today to find Adelina, wanting to personally accompany her to enroll in the academy.
He loved Adelina so much!
Hmph, I didn't expect this Felyn fellow to look so calm, but he's actually quite proactive.
But that's to be expected. My daughter is so outstanding, it's only normal for Felyn to admire her.
"Father?"
Adelina saw her father showing a strange smile for the second time today and couldn't help but feel a little worried.
"Wait for me a moment."
Claude walked outside the door and said to the guards at the entrance, "Mr. Felyn is here. Please invite them in."
He adjusted his glasses with his hand, thinking to himself that he really did understand a bit of romance.
Inviting Felyn in without Adelina's knowledge would surely give her a surprise.
---
Inside the study, Adelina poured black tea for Seraphinia.
Because Seraphinia had appeared wearing a mask in Varir Village, no one knew the Dragon Maiden's identity.
In Adelina's eyes, she was still that wealthy merchant's daughter.
"Miss Adelina, you'll be setting off for the capital today as well, right?" Seraphinia smiled at Adelina.
*There's going to be another girl around Felyn now, and it's the 'Light of Claude,' Miss Adelina.*
Although Adelina didn't know Seraphinia's identity, Seraphinia had seen Adelina in Varir Village.
"Mhm, I'm actually quite looking forward to it."
"Is that so? Studying in the capital is indeed very helpful for improving one's divine affinity." Seraphinia's hand traced the rim of the cup, her pale cyan eyes looking at the black tea inside. "Or is it that Miss Adelina actually has a boy she likes there?"
"Eh?" Adelina's eyelashes drooped. Faced with Seraphinia's question, she was a little embarrassed. "Th-There is one."
"Then are you two lovers?"
Adelina didn't feel that Seraphinia's question was targeted in any way; it was just the usual chat between girls.
"Not yet... I'm trying to be." She smiled at Seraphinia, her grayish-blue eyes curving. "Miss Seraphina, do you have someone you fancy now?"
Adelina was also a little curious about this genius designer's love life.
"No." Seraphinia shook her head, her white hair swaying behind her.
She felt that Felyn probably didn't count as someone she fancied.
Just an agreeable master.
But, is there any difference between a master and a fancy?
Seraphinia began to ponder this question carefully, unable to find an answer.
Thinking of Felyn, Seraphinia realized she hadn't seen him in a long time.
A whole week.
Previously, Seraphinia could go a month, or even three or four months, without seeing Felyn and not feel anything.
But now, not seeing Felyn for a week already made her feel a little unaccustomed.
I should find a chance to meet with Felyn, and complete some contract services while I'm at it.
---
"It's actually the Claude family."
Felyn and Zervanie walked to the main gate, looking at the large Claude family crest hanging on the door.
They had actually ended up at Adelina's home.
"What a coincidence," Zervanie said, tilting her head up and blinking. "Don't you want to go in and sit for a while?"
"No, what would I go in and sit for?" Felyn didn't know that Adelina was inside.
"To meet your future father-in-law, isn't that good? He's an invested noble, after all."
"Zervanie! Keep your voice down! If Lord Claude hears you, I'm done for." Felyn covered Zervanie's mouth and looked up at the surrounding guards.
The guards around seemed to have heard the commotion. A squad of guards formed a neat line and walked towards Felyn.
"Felyn, it looks like they're coming to arrest you."
"To arrest you. Who told you to say those things just now?"
"Then will you abandon me and run away alone?"
"No." Felyn shook his head. "I'll just have you cover the rear while I retreat."
"Isn't that just abandoning me and running away alone!" Zervanie's cheeks puffed up angrily.
But Felyn still took her hand and protected her behind him.
He would never really leave Zervanie behind.
"Clang."
The main gate was slowly pushed open, and a man who looked like a butler walked out first.
"Excuse me, are you Mr. Felyn Sorester?"
"I am."
"The head of our family, Lord Claude, requests your presence."
"Is something the matter?" Felyn felt a little surprised. He and Zervanie exchanged a look and found that the songstress was also a bit confused.
"The family head did not inform me, so I am not entirely sure."
No one knew about Claude's "surprise," including Adelina and Seraphinia who was beside her.
After a moment of thought, Felyn, with the maid-like Zervanie, walked into the Claude manor.
If he refused Claude's invitation, Felyn felt that Adelina might overthink things.
He had originally wanted Zervanie to go back first, but Zervanie insisted on staying with Felyn.
"If you get trapped in the manor for a lifetime by Lord Claude, I'll have to go and save you, which is very troublesome," Zervanie said to Felyn as they walked at the back of the guard squad.
"There aren't that many Dorothys," Felyn patted Zervanie's shoulder, signaling that it was fine. "If you go out, at least there's someone to report the news. If you don't leave, Lord Claude might trap both of us."
Zervanie linked her arm with Felyn's and whispered, "Th-Then isn't that just perfect..."
The two walked into the manor, and the luxurious main gate slowly closed.
The maids and butlers of the Claude residence were all well-trained. Not a single one of them questioned the maid who was so intimate with Felyn.
Don't ask what you shouldn't ask.
"Mr. Felyn, please proceed to the study on the fourth floor alone."
Just as Felyn was walking up the stairs, the conversation in the fourth-floor study also came to an end.
"Then I'll be leaving now." Seraphinia greeted the Claude father and daughter, turned, and walked downstairs.
She just missed Felyn, failing to meet him.
But she didn't miss Zervanie.
She didn't miss the Miss Zervanie who was wearing a maid outfit and might be calling Felyn "Master."
