Chapter 401

If Deaf Old Lady were just an ordinary old woman, he certainly wouldn't give her any face.

But in fact, Deaf Old Lady has a tangled web of relationships and is very influential; if he doesn't agree, Deaf Old Lady will go and stir things up.

"Fine, I'll give Yi Zhonghai one more chance!"

"Capital punishment may be avoided, but living punishment is hard to escape; I must punish him!"

Wang Zhuren felt a bit uncomfortable.

"It's only right!"

"He did something wrong, how can he not pay the price?"

Deaf Old Lady is also a sensible person.

Since Wang Zhuren gave her face and gave Yi Zhonghai a chance, she couldn't push her luck.

Yi Zhonghai let out a long breath; his position as First Elder was saved.

"Go notify everyone, hold a full-courtyard assembly."

"Yi Zhonghai, you must make a self-criticism at the full-courtyard assembly."

"Liu Haizhong, Yan Fugui, as Second Elder and Third Elder, you have serious errors in this matter; you two must also make self-criticisms."

"Yi Zhonghai is fined thirty yuan; Liu Haizhong, you are the Second Elder, I fine you twenty yuan; Yan Fugui, I fine you ten yuan, to compensate the victim!"

Wang Zhuren was very clear.

Yi Zhonghai's unscrupulous distortion of right and wrong had everything to do with Liu Haizhong and Yan Fugui.

As Second Elder and Third Elder, they definitely failed to fulfill their duties!

Liu Haizhong's face turned bitter.

Yan Fugui was almost crying.

*Cough! *

Yi Zhonghai coughed and gave the two of them a look.

The two understood.

Yi Zhonghai would compensate them.

Soon.

Everyone in the courtyard was gathered together.

When Wang Zhuren arrived just now, most of the people in the courtyard had come out to watch the excitement; calling a meeting just meant changing the location to watch the excitement.

"Yi Zhonghai, come to the front and make a serious self-criticism!"

Wang Zhuren's face was gloomy.

Yi Zhonghai walked to the front, his old face flushed red; making him criticize himself in front of all the men, women, and children in the courtyard was too shameful, yet he couldn't refuse!

"Dear neighbors, I was wrong!"

Yi Zhonghai criticized himself.

With Wang Zhuren supervising, he didn't dare to slack off, and his self-criticism was very sincere, though it's unknown what he was thinking in his heart.

Next were Liu Haizhong and Yan Fugui.

The three of them finished their self-criticisms.

"Now, I announce the punishment for the three of you!"

"Yi Zhonghai will continue to serve as acting First Elder, with his probationary period extended to one year."

"Starting tomorrow, every day after work, you must go to the subdistrict office to receive one hour of ideological education, and you are also fined to sweep the streets for one month."

"Jia Zhangshi, you are likewise punished to sweep the streets for one month."

"Liu Haizhong and Yan Fugui, you two failed to fulfill the responsibilities of Second Elder and Third Elder, so you are punished to sweep the streets for half a month!"

"Do you have any objections?"

Wang Zhuren announced the final punishment.

Yi Zhonghai naturally didn't dare to have objections; he had almost been removed, and it was only because Deaf Old Lady pleaded for him that it was changed to ideological education and street sweeping.

Although Liu Haizhong and Yan Fugui felt very aggrieved and had been set up by Yi Zhonghai, they didn't dare to protest!

"I protest!"

"Why should I be made to sweep the streets?"

"It was First Elder Yi Zhonghai who told Sun Laogen to pay money, it wasn't me who robbed him; what did I do wrong?"

Jia Zhangshi was the culprit; everything started because of her.

She was the one who should have had the least objections, yet she was the only one to protest, and she did so with righteous indignation!
