Chapter 1060: Vehicle-Mounted Arsenal
He Yuzhu's brain spun rapidly, and he immediately plastered a look of trepidation on his face, holding his passport with both hands and smiling obsequiously as he said, "Military gentlemen, military gentlemen, this is my passport, please take a look..."
Tucked clearly inside the passport were five brand-new hundred-dollar bills.
But the black-faced military policeman opposite him didn't buy it at all; he raised his hand and slapped over, intending to knock the passport and the money onto the ground together.
He Yuzhu's wrist jerked back sharply, and he quickly pulled the items back, causing the military policeman's slap to land on nothing.
In that split second, He Yuzhu flipped his wrists, and two pitch-black Glock 17 pistols appeared, their muzzles fitted with long, thin silencers, with 33-round extended magazines hanging heavily beneath them.
He did not hesitate in the slightest, raising his hands and pulling the triggers directly.
"Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff..."
The silencers suppressed the vast majority of the deafening noise, leaving only a series of dull sounds; sparks flashed at the muzzles as the bullets precisely drilled into the chests of the eight military policemen opposite.
In less than ten seconds, the eight men fell to the ground one after another, each with an extra bullet hole in their chest, as fresh blood pooled into a thin stream and flowed along the road toward the shoulder.
He Yuzhu slammed the accelerator to the floor, the tires let out a piercing screech, and the car lunged out of the street like a wild beast.
In the back row, Xu Damao and Dajinya looked as if their eyeballs were about to pop out.
It took a full few seconds before Xu Damao stammered, "Zhu, Zhuzi... you gunned them all down in the middle of the street? A-are we still going to be able to get out?"
He Yuzhu's tone was extremely calm: "They were clearly coming for us; money wouldn't work, they just wanted our lives."
Hu Bayi frowned tightly and said in a deep voice, "If you ask me, it's possible we were already being watched when we left Milai's side. You say... could it be that Milai sold us out?"
He Yuzhu shook his head lightly: "No, but there must be spies from the Government Army mixed in among his high-ranking officers."
Xu Damao was completely bewildered, his face full of curiosity: "Zhuzi, how do you know so clearly?"
He Yuzhu grinned: "In the early hours of the morning, I sensed something was wrong around us and specifically went out to check the situation."
This was actually something He Yuzhu had made up on the spot. He had indeed been careless this time; after returning with the loot from the Miaowadi Bank, he had fallen straight asleep and hadn't gone out to scout at all.
Hu Bayi's deduction was closer to the truth: it was most likely that an officer under Milai had quietly reported the news of He Yuzhu's group to the Government Army.
The information was passed up layer by layer, and by the time it reached the high-ranking military officials, it was already dawn; the bank side hadn't been discovered yet.
Dajinya was so scared his voice was trembling: "There are Government Army roadblocks everywhere; I'm afraid it'll be very hard for us to escape now."
He Yuzhu suddenly burst into loud laughter, the sound echoing and buzzing inside the car cabin.
He calculated inwardly that if they were truly surrounded, he could simply knock these four people unconscious, store them in the System Space, and activate the Space-Time Shuttle to return directly to Si Jiu Cheng; there was nothing to be afraid of. It was just that this trump card must never be easily exposed.
"Don't panic, everyone, just treat it as an adventure; let yourselves experience the feeling of the time when the Japanese invaders occupied the country," He Yuzhu's tone remained relaxed.
Dajinya waved his hands repeatedly: "I don't want to experience that! My dad told me that when the Japanese were here, you had to live every day in fear."
Hu Bayi looked at the cowardly appearance of Dajinya and Xu Damao, a look of disdain appearing on his face.
He composed himself and asked, "Zhuzi, is there any other hardware prepared in the car?"
He Yuzhu gestured toward the rear of the car with his chin: "It's all in the trunk."
Hu Bayi immediately flipped open the trunk cover and couldn't help but exclaim: "Master He, this is practically an arsenal!"
Wang Pangzi also hurriedly turned his head to look.
Piled in the trunk were over a dozen long and short guns of various sizes, several ammunition crates were packed full, and in the corner lay several green-cased Stinger Missiles.
Hu Bayi's eyes lit up instantly, and he couldn't help but whistle: "Master He, the stuff you have in here is very advanced!"
He Yuzhu smiled: "Coming to such a chaotic place, if we don't prepare a few good things, how could we get out safely?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than the roar of car engines came from afar, mixed with the *put-put-put* sound of motorcycles, the noise growing clearer as it moved from far to near.
He Yuzhu glanced at the rearview mirror: "Pangzi, you drive; Old Hu and I need to do some work."
Wang Pangzi was not very willing; he also wanted to stay and exchange fire with the enemy.
But looking at the terrified Dajinya and Xu Damao beside him, he could only sigh: "Fine, this bitter chore can only be left to me."
He Yuzhu pressed a button, and the bulletproof car rapidly changed form, turning directly into a pickup truck with bulletproof steel plates in the back.
He Yuzhu flipped and jumped into the bed of the pickup, casually grabbing a Stinger Missile.
Pangzi didn't get out of the car, instead scrambling from the passenger seat to the driver's seat; despite his fat build, his movements were exceptionally agile.
Before his butt was even settled, he slammed his foot on the accelerator, and the car shot forward with a "vroom."
He Yuzhu had already disengaged the safety on the Stinger Missile, aiming at a helicopter that was constantly closing in.
He didn't even put the truck-borne pursuers on the ground in his eyes; no matter how many came, he and Hu Bayi could finish them off with grenade launchers.
The truly lethal threats were the two helicopters in the sky. From their high vantage point, as long as one rocket landed, everyone in the car would be finished here.
He wasn't afraid for himself, as he could hide in the System Space in a crisis, but Hu Bayi, Wang Pangzi, Xu Damao, and Dajinya had no way out.
"Old Hu!" He Yuzhu shouted without looking back, "Use the grenade launcher to cover me, I'll deal with the helicopters!"
Hu Bayi shouldered the rifle with the underslung grenade launcher, nimbly loaded a grenade, and aimed at the lead pursuit truck.
"Thump!"
The grenade whistled out and smashed fiercely into the truck's engine compartment.
With a loud "Boom!", the entire truck flipped over onto the side of the road.
He Yuzhu turned his head and shouted: "Xu Damao! Use the Submachine Gun to fire back at the rear!"
Xu Damao gripped a Submachine Gun, frantically pulling the trigger, but the safety wasn't off; he fumbled for a long time without firing a single bullet.
His face was as pale as paper: "Zhu, Zhuzi... m-my hands aren't listening to me..."
Hu Bayi cursed in a low voice: "It's no use being a coward! If we don't hit them, they're going to kill us!"
Just then, a dark green armed helicopter pressed in from the rear flank, its nose dipping slightly as the muzzle of the onboard Machine Gun slowly rotated, having already locked onto the pickup.
"Damn it, go to hell!" He Yuzhu shouted. At this moment, the infrared seeker of the Stinger Missile in his hands had successfully locked onto the helicopter, and his index finger slammed down on the trigger.
"Whoosh—Boom!!"
The Stinger dragged a trail of white smoke as it shot into the sky; its speed was astonishing, and the helicopter pilot didn't even have time to react before the missile slammed into the junction of the fuselage and the tail boom.
A massive fireball exploded in mid-air, orange-red flames engulfed in rolling black smoke instantly swallowing the entire airframe.
The propeller snapped with a "Crack!", and a section of the blade spun at high speed, shooting out and stabbing into the trunk of a tree by the roadside with a "splat."
"Boom!" The entire helicopter slammed heavily onto the small dirt hill.
The shockwave of the explosion blew He Yuzhu's hair back; he didn't have time to wipe the dust off his face, turning his head to roar at the cabin: "Damao! Hand me that Stinger under your feet!"
Xu Damao couldn't care about being afraid at this moment either; he hurriedly grabbed the missile and handed it over, stammering: "H-here, take it!"
He Yuzhu took the missile, quickly disengaged the safety, and aimed at the second helicopter.
The second helicopter had just burst through the flames of the first one's explosion, and the pilot, already panicked, yanked the nose up in an attempt to evade the attack.
He Yuzhu was not about to give him the chance.
"Whoosh—Boom!!"
The second missile tore through the air and struck directly below the side of the cockpit.
The helicopter seemed to be snapped in two by an invisible giant hand, the fuselage splitting right down the middle.
The front cockpit section spun as it plummeted, while the rear fuel tank detonated, sending up a mushroom-shaped cloud of fire that dyed half the sky red.
Glass shards and metal debris clattered and splashed everywhere, raining down onto the road with a pitter-patter.
In less than a minute, both armed helicopters had been reduced to two piles of burning scrap metal on the ground.
Hu Bayi glanced back and couldn't help but curse: "Damn, that's intense! Pangzi, drive properly, don't drive me into a ditch!"
Wang Pangzi shouted back: "Hu, don't worry!"
Xu Damao raised his Submachine Gun and fired desperately at the pursuers behind, screaming at the top of his lungs: "I'm not scared anymore! If I could have gone to, to, to the battlefield when I was young, I would have been a hero too!"
Hu Bayi laughed loudly: "Damao, straighten out your tongue before you start bragging!"
