Chapter 1073: God of Slaughter on the Sea

~8 min read 1,511 words

He Yuzhu waited for an entire day; the sea surface was as calm as stagnant water.

Seagulls circled listlessly, too lazy to even flap their wings a few extra times.

The sunlight spilled warmly over the Fishing Boat, making people's eyelids heavy.

Hu Bayi and the others also relaxed, simply sprawling out on the deck as if they were on a seaside vacation.

Beer can after beer can was opened, their mouths were greasy from gnawing on grilled fish, and the men huddled together, chatting aimlessly about the rough-and-tumble experiences of their past years.

By the afternoon, He Yuzhu called everyone over, his expression unusually serious.

"Hu, Pangzi, Damao, Jin Ya, you lot hurry to the rear cabin and catch some sleep. There's no telling when the enemy Warship might sneak up on us. If you're just standing around here when that happens, not only will you be no help, you'll actually distract me."

Hu Bayi and the others didn't talk back; they got up and walked into the cabin.

Xu Damao turned his head back to glance at the sea surface halfway there, his gaze looking as if he were bidding the world farewell.

Soon, only He Yuzhu was left on the deck.

He moved a chair to the bow and sat down, his eyes fixed straight on the horizon.

Time passed second by second, the sun sank bit by bit, the moon rose, yet there was still no movement on the sea.

Even He Yuzhu was getting a bit impatient—the enemy's Warship was moving far too slowly.

Near midnight, just as his eyelids were starting to feel heavy, he suddenly saw a dense patch of red dots appear in the sky, like a sky full of meteors, slamming straight down toward his Fishing Boat.

He Yuzhu sprang up from his chair with a "thump," his pupils shrinking to pinpoints.

Missiles! And dozens of them fired in a volley! These bastards really changed their tactics to go for the kill.

The red dots flew faster and faster, trailing long smoke plumes behind them, the warheads growing larger in his field of vision.

He Yuzhu clenched his fists tightly, his palms slick with cold sweat.

He asked urgently in his mind: "System, with so many missiles, can you really catch them all at once?"

The System's voice was languid, without even a hint of fluctuation: "Don't worry, once I've taken your money, I'll definitely do a beautiful job for you."

The sound of them piercing the air had already reached his ears; a dozen missiles were about to slam into the Fishing Boat.

"Puff—"

Just like a Candle being blown out by a gust of wind, those warheads vanished completely in mid-air.

Only a few faint smoke trails remained in the night sky, slowly dissipating, and the sea returned to dead silence, as if nothing had ever happened.

He Yuzhu was stunned for several seconds before he let out a long, heavy breath; his clothes were already soaked through with cold sweat, sticking chillingly to his spine.

He muttered silently in his heart: System, well done.

The System retorted: One ton of gold, 24 hours, how do I feel like I charged too little.

"You really are greedy enough." He Yuzhu couldn't help but laugh.

"You're burning bridges!" the System immediately snapped back.

He Yuzhu smiled and said nothing more, turning his head to glance toward the cabin. He wondered if those few were truly asleep or just lying there with their eyes open, pretending.

A thought crossed his mind, and he steeled himself—

If others don't offend me, I won't offend them. Since you've tried to kill me, don't blame me for paying you back twofold.

With a shift of his will, the entire Fishing Boat vanished from where it was.

The next second, He Yuzhu was already standing steadily inside the ammunition hold of the Porter Destroyer.

He looked around; good heavens, Standard II Anti-Air Missiles, Tomahawk Cruise Missiles, and ASROC Anti-Submarine Rockets were stacked neatly, with a large pile of shells, Torpedoes, and external launchers for Harpoon Anti-Ship Missiles nearby—the hold was full of big hardware.

He Yuzhu didn't stand on ceremony, stowing the anti-air missiles, Tomahawks, and Harpoons all into his space.

If his own country couldn't use these things, he could resell them to Milai and trade them for some jade to replenish his energy; that wouldn't be bad.

Finally, he picked out a dozen heavy Torpedoes, stacked them with High-explosive Explosives, connected the wires, and installed the timing devices.

"A big gift for you all." He patted the cold Torpedo casing, a cold sneer tugging at the corner of his mouth.

With a flicker of his figure, he teleported directly into the McCampbell Destroyer.

The same routine: take what should be taken, place what should be placed, bundle the Torpedoes and Explosives together, and set the timers.

After finishing this, he didn't intend to keep wasting time at sea, so he performed a Space-Time Shuttle and arrived at the Pasir Panjang pier. This place was already past the Malacca Strait, making it convenient to head in any direction.

Half an hour later.

"Boom—!!!"

A pillar of fire erupted from the center of the Porter, orange-red light exploding and instantly tearing a hole in the night sky.

Immediately following, a second massive explosion came from the direction of the McCampbell; the entire Destroyer arched violently in the middle, as if a giant hand from the seabed had punched and broken its spine.

Firelight, thick smoke, debris, and the screeching of twisted steel churned into a mess; both ten-thousand-ton beasts snapped in two simultaneously, their bows rising high as their sterns sank into the water bit by bit.

Although He Yuzhu didn't see the scene with his own eyes, he had done this kind of thing too many times and could picture the scene in his mind.

He withdrew his thoughts and released his Fishing Boat back at the Pasir Panjang pier.

In the cabin, Hu Bayi turned over and opened his eyes, dazed.

Wang Pangzi also woke up, rubbing his eyes and scanning the cabin, seeing that Xu Damao and Dajinya were still fast asleep.

"Hu, where are we? Why do I feel like the boat has stopped?"

Hu Bayi nodded: "Seems like it has stopped. Let's go, let's go to the cockpit and take a look."

As soon as the two pushed open the door to the cockpit, they were stunned on the spot.

The Fishing Boat had already docked at a pier; the shore was bustling, the reflections of lights swaying on the water, feeling somewhat unreal, like a dream.

He Yuzhu sat in the pilot's seat and smiled at the two: "We've passed the Malacca Strait and arrived at the Pasir Panjang pier. Do you want to go ashore and look around?"

Hu Bayi held back for a long time, but couldn't help asking: "Master He, didn't you say there were two Warships coming for us? Could it be they didn't find us?"

He Yuzhu sighed: "They ran into a big storm and both sank."

Hu Bayi gasped.

He knew those two Warships had been sunk by He Yuzhu.

But what panicked him even more was another matter—

"Master He, if we go ashore, these customs people will very likely sell the news to the M Country people immediately."

Pangzi nodded along, his face full of worry.

He Yuzhu smiled: "So, Hu, you mean we should head back to the country now?"

Hu Bayi nodded, his tone a bit heavy: "When people from over here come to our country to make money, they act like they're returning to their roots, but when real trouble hits, their legs still lean toward M Country. They'd practically peel off their yellow skin to replace it with white if they could."

After hearing this, He Yuzhu laughed: "Hu, that's a sharp way to put it. Fine, then we won't go ashore; we'll leave directly."

Hu Bayi also smiled: "I have no interest in hanging around here either; if I had the time, I'd rather go to Thailand."

He Yuzhu was a man who listened to advice, so he immediately turned the boat around and headed for the high seas.

Although it was already late into the night, as soon as the boat reached the high seas, two patrol boats closed in from the left and right, forcing their way up.

He Yuzhu didn't hesitate at all and pressed the launch button directly.

"Boom! Boom!" Two shells landed squarely, hitting exactly in the middle of the decks of the two patrol boats.

"That was quite accurate," He Yuzhu laughed.

Hu Bayi, however, broke out in a cold sweat: "Master He, aren't you afraid of alerting them?"

He Yuzhu laughed heartily: "If those people hadn't received the news, would they be chasing us so desperately now that we've reached the high seas? In my view, these people are either M Country people themselves or dogs raised by M Country, so why be polite to them?"

Hu Bayi nodded heavily.
