Chapter 351: He Yuzhu Wants to Get Married
Kajia invited He Yuzhu to dinner, and the location was the Xijiao Zhaodaisuo. The restaurant here was a place specifically providing authentic meals for Soviet Experts.
Kajia ordered the dishes herself, and before long, all the dishes were served.
The beef stew in the clay pot was still bubbling, the meat skewers emitted the aroma of cumin, the Olivier salad was piled into a small hill, and the borscht was steaming.
He Yuzhu sniffed and said, "The chef is a bit lacking."
Kajia almost burst out laughing; she felt He Yuzhu was putting on airs and didn't believe at all that he had ever eaten these things.
"Teacher He, through these few months of study, I have gained a lot. Thank you."
"A teacher is one who propagates the Dao, imparts professional knowledge, and resolves doubts; this is what I should do," He Yuzhu said, feigning profundity.
"Teacher He, let me toast you again. Thank you for teaching us foreign students without reservation. This moves me very much." Kajia downed her drink in one gulp, her large blue eyes appearing exceptionally bright under the lights.
Facing this woman who downed her drink every time she raised her glass, He Yuzhu was also helpless and could only drink cup after cup. However, he didn't let all the alcohol go into his stomach, instead storing most of it in his space.
After several rounds of drinks, Kajia was already slightly tipsy. She looked at He Yuzhu with blurred eyes: "Teacher He, are you married?"
He Yuzhu shook his head.
Kajia straightened her body and said in a passionate tone: "Then... consider me!"
He Yuzhu laughed after hearing this: "You are taller than me; we aren't really a good match in terms of physique."
Kajia laughed and suddenly leaned over to wrap her arms around He Yuzhu's neck: "Teacher He, do you know what I like about you the most?"
He Yuzhu shook his head.
"I especially like your personality of always saying whatever is on your mind and never caring about other people's feelings!"
"Aren't you a bit of a masochist?" He Yuzhu joked.
"For the person I like, I am just such a masochist!" Kajia said with a smile.
"Actually, I already have someone I like," He Yuzhu said seriously.
"Where we come from, young people have more than one relationship before marriage. If you don't spend time together, how can you know if you are compatible..."
"Understood." He Yuzhu almost said "We will be like that in a few decades too," but ultimately didn't say it. He then said seriously: "We have a saying here: dating without the goal of marriage is just being a hooligan!"
"What does 'being a hooligan' mean?" Kajia asked.
"It means taking advantage of women!" He Yuzhu chuckled.
Just as He Yuzhu and Kajia were talking, Ivan Petrovich walked over with a new face.
Seeing He Yuzhu, he greeted him enthusiastically.
He Yuzhu didn't know Russian, but fortunately, both Soviet Experts could communicate in English, so everyone chatted smoothly.
Ivan seemed even more cordial in this private setting than at the factory; he introduced his companion beside him: "This is Comrade Buleike, a steelmaking Expert."
He Yuzhu greeted them with a smile: "Are you two here to eat as well? Perfect, let's sit together!"
Ivan seemed very happy: "I didn't expect Engineer He to know Comrade Kajia as well; she is the recognized flower of our Expert group."
He Yuzhu explained: "Comrade Kajia is taking my Computer course."
Kajia smiled at the two of them and said: "My alcohol tolerance is low, and Teacher He hasn't had his fill yet. You two keep him company and drink a few more cups for me."
Seeing this situation, He Yuzhu guessed their intentions a bit.
Since they wanted to drink, he might as well play a big game and see what their true intentions were.
He stood up immediately and said: "Wait a moment, I have good liquor in my car." As he spoke, he moved a whole case of strong sorghum liquor from his car and placed it on the table: "I've long heard that Soviet comrades have a massive capacity for alcohol. Today, let's have one bottle each; no one is allowed to welch. We won't stop until we're drunk!"
The two laughed loudly: "Good! We won't stop until we're drunk!"
After the three of them finished one bottle each, He Yuzhu bit open three more bottles with his teeth, handed them over, and said: "I'm about to reach my limit. Let's call it a night after finishing this bottle, shall we?"
Buleike waved his hand, his tongue already a bit thick: "We agreed not to stop until we're drunk... no one is allowed to leave until they're passed out!"
He Yuzhu shook his head and had no choice but to oblige.
Kajia was on the side, thoughtfully picking food for He Yuzhu.
He Yuzhu said to her: "Don't just keep us company; if you're tired, go back and rest first."
Kajia said: "You've drunk so much, how can you still drive? Just stay the night at the Zhaodaisuo."
He Yuzhu nodded: "That's fine too; I can't drive anyway, so I'll stay."
The three of them each downed another bottle, and finally, they all slid under the table; only then did this drinking session end.
Kajia brought two attendants and managed to help He Yuzhu into a single room with great difficulty.
He Yuzhu lay on the bed, closing his eyes and focusing his mind, waiting to see what this group of people wanted to do.
After about a quarter of an hour, the door was pushed open very lightly.
A familiar perfume scent drifted over; it was Kajia.
She hugged He Yuzhu, took off his coat and his shirt full of the smell of alcohol, picked up a warm towel, and earnestly wiped his face, neck, and chest.
A faint milky scent filled He Yuzhu's nose and mouth; he couldn't help but open his eyes slightly, seeing two soft mounds swaying back and forth, which made him a bit distracted.
Before long, the wiping ended, and Kajia helped him cover himself with the quilt.
He Yuzhu maintained an even breathing rhythm, pretending to be fast asleep.
He felt Kajia stand quietly by the bed for a while, and then, a kiss carrying a warm breath landed on his lips.
Next came the sound of tiptoeing footsteps leaving and the faint "click" of the door lock latching.
The room returned to silence.
He Yuzhu opened his eyes and thought: What will happen next? Will it be like in the "007" movies? But he waited for half an hour and no one came.
Damn! So he had tensed his nerves and acted like a drunkard all night, and the other party only gave him a kiss. He suddenly felt he was a bit ridiculous.
Forget it, stop dwelling on those random things, and get to sleep.
When he woke up, it was already 8:00 the next morning.
He Yuzhu brushed his teeth and washed his face; not seeing Kajia again, he got up and returned to Liu Rusi's residence.
Pingping stopped him at the door.
"Is there anything we can't say inside the house?" He Yuzhu asked.
Pingping lowered her voice and said, "He Yuzhu, you heartless man! The young lady is already pregnant; when do you plan to marry her?"
"What? She's really pregnant?" He Yuzhu was stunned, then immediately became happy, "I'll go to the Street Office to file a report right now, and we'll get married tomorrow!"
"But you haven't reached the legal marriage age yet!" Pingping reminded him.
"That's easy to handle; I'll go to the Street Office and change my age," He Yuzhu answered decisively.
Only then did Pingping show a look of slight satisfaction: "That's more like it."
He Yuzhu casually pulled a watch out of his bag and shoved it to her: "Thanks for reminding me. I won't go see my sister for now; I need to hurry to the Street Office to get my age changed."
Watching his hurriedly departing back, Pingping smiled knowingly.
He Yuzhu rushed to the Street Office and found Wang Xia, saying as soon as he opened his mouth: "Sister, I need a favor. I'm getting married, but I'm not old enough yet; can you help me change it?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Xia widened her eyes and asked, "Who are you marrying?"
"Liu Rusi, of course!" He Yuzhu blurted out.
Wang Xia shook her head and said, "Changing it is useless; your current personnel file is at the Military Factory, so you have to submit an application to the factory's Personnel Section, Security Section, and Party Branch."
"What? You mean I can't get married for the time being?"
