Chapter 380: Ambushing the Convoy

~10 min read 1,816 words

He Yuzhu lowered his head, dodged the hand Inspector Sun reached out with, and warned, "You've gone too far. I haven't been convicted yet; you hitting me counts as official misconduct, and I'm going to report you... I have a lawyer, you know!"

Inspector Sun sneered disdainfully, "Old man, you've fallen into my hands, and you're still acting tough? Do you believe I'll blow your head off with one shot?"

"I believe it. But have you thought about how to handle what happens after that? You might end up in prison yourself."

"You dare threaten me?" Inspector Sun was incensed and kicked out, but He Yuzhu barely managed to dodge it.

He was instantly stung by shame and rage, clamoring, "Old man, I said you were faking illness, and you were! Just wait and see how I deal with you later!"

The group shoved He Yuzhu along, walking into a remote and narrow alley.

Inspector Sun came over to harass him again, and the fire in He Yuzhu's heart was instantly ignited.

Originally, he had intended to admit he was helping others acquire Penicillin for money, letting the Police catch the people behind him so he could obtain that batch of medicine. Now, he didn't want to anymore; this Inspector was just a brainless idiot...

The moment Inspector Sun reached out to hit him again, He Yuzhu moved his mind and pulled the people around him into his space.

The few Police officers walking behind, who had been following carelessly, suddenly discovered the people in front were gone. They stared at the empty alley in a daze, only then realizing the danger approaching.

They froze for a few seconds, then, out of an instinct to survive, turned and ran.

However, it was already too late.

He Yuzhu flicked his wrist, and several cold glints broke through the air!

The Flying Knives precisely pierced into the backs of their knees, and the men screamed as they collapsed to the ground.

Before they could howl more than a few times, He Yuzhu's figure had already swept over like a ghost, taking them into his space one by one.

The alley returned to deathly silence. Only a cat on the wall was startled, let out a "Meow," and fled, jumping onto the roof.

He Yuzhu walked quickly out of the alley, thinking about the next steps, strolling along until he found himself at the seaside without realizing it.

Before him lay a desolate stone beach, black reefs scattered everywhere, the seawater crashing against the shore with a monotonous splashing sound, and the sea breeze blowing in his face, carrying a salty, fishy scent.

He Yuzhu moved his mind and released Inspector Sun from the space.

Inspector Sun slowly regained consciousness, looked at He Yuzhu in a daze, and asked loudly, "I... how did I get here? Who exactly are you? Where are my brothers?"

He Yuzhu sneered, "If you call me 'Daddy,' I'll tell you everything. Otherwise, I have no obligation to answer these questions for you."

"You bastard! I am an Inspector, what can you do to me?"

He Yuzhu stepped forward and kicked him, sending him tumbling: "Tell me quickly, where is that batch of Penicillin hidden?"

Inspector Sun cursed with a fierce expression but a cowardly heart: "Bastard! You actually dare to kidnap the Royal Hong Kong Police! Once I go missing, the Police Department will find out soon, and you will be caught sooner or later!"

"You've lived to this age, how are you still so childish? I've already dragged you here, do you think I'm afraid of your backer?"

Hearing these words, Inspector Sun knew there would be no good end to today's events. He stood up abruptly and ran desperately toward the distance.

Before he had run more than a few steps, a Flying Knife was deeply embedded in his calf.

"Awoo!" Inspector Sun let out a miserable shriek, fell heavily onto the hard gravel beach, knocked out two front teeth on the spot, and his mouth was full of blood.

He Yuzhu walked over unhurriedly, pulled out the Flying Knife, and wiped it on his clothes.

"Are you going to talk?"

Inspector Sun was twitching all over from the pain, still roaring, "You... don't even think about it..."

He Yuzhu's eyes turned sharp, and the Dagger in his hand violently stabbed into his lower abdomen!

Inspector Sun let out a pig-like howl.

He Yuzhu showed no mercy and added another stab to his thigh.

"Ah—! I'll talk! I'll talk! I heard the Chief Inspector say... that batch of medicine was ordered by General Aili to be moved to the Shoushan Military Camp armory..."

After hearing this, He Yuzhu didn't waste another word and snapped his neck directly.

He did not delay and went straight to the Police Department to find Li Yong for verification.

The guard at the door saw that the visitor was a well-dressed, imposing middle-aged man who specifically asked to see the Chief Inspector, so he dared not be negligent and immediately went inside to report.

Li Yong, who was organizing materials in his office, felt a jolt in his heart upon hearing that a middle-aged man calling himself "Zhuzi" was looking for him. He immediately put down the documents in his hand and walked out quickly to greet him.

As soon as the two met, He Yuzhu shook a flattened Bullet Shell in his palm and whispered, "I have something to ask you; where is a suitable place to talk?"

Li Yong understood, pointed to a restaurant diagonally across from the Police Department, and said, "There is a private room there that I always keep; it's very safe."

Li Yong wanted to call the waiter to order some food, but was stopped by He Yuzhu raising his hand.

"I'm just asking you something, and I'll leave once I'm done. Is that batch of Penicillin in the Shoushan Military Camp armory?"

Li Yong was stunned and hurriedly explained, "I notified Lao Qian as soon as I got the news! Didn't he tell you?"

"I came out early and didn't go back," He Yuzhu explained briefly.

Li Yong then realized and leaned in closer, saying, "It's very difficult to rob the armory directly. The warehouses in that armory are all tens of meters underground... the locks on the Warehouse are all bank-vault-grade combination locks..."

He Yuzhu nodded and then asked, "Why do they guard this batch of medicine so strictly?"

"It was the Section Chief's idea; he proposed using this batch of medicine as bait to lure you into the trap..."

"If they are using the medicine as bait, why hide it!" He Yuzhu felt something was fishy. He had gone to the black market today and hadn't even seen the goods before being targeted. This method of catching people by the Police was too crude and lacked evidence; it couldn't convict anyone at all.

Li Yong replied, "Mai Jingtao judged that you were most likely to conduct the transaction at the pier. Therefore, the military transports this batch of medicine to the pier every day. Those Fishing Boats 'selling medicine' at the pier are all disguised by the Garrison, just waiting for your people!"

He Yuzhu sneered, "What time do they return to the Military Camp every day?"

"Around ten o'clock at night. However, they have at least five hundred people escorting it, and they are fully armed; they are not easy to deal with," Li Yong reminded him with a grave tone.

"As long as the medicine is on the road, it's easier to handle than when it's hidden in the warehouse," He Yuzhu said with a smile.

Li Yong nodded.

"To catch us, does the Police Department have any other arrangements?"

Li Yong thought for a moment and whispered, "It is said that General Aili has invited a very famous Inspector from the United Kingdom... they say this person is very capable. When you take action, try not to leave any evidence behind."

He Yuzhu patted Li Yong on the shoulder and said, "Once the matter is finished, I'll give you a bonus." Having said that, he stopped lingering and stood up to leave the private room.

Li Yong watched his disappearing back and let out a long sigh of relief; fine beads of sweat had already seeped onto his forehead.

After arriving at the perimeter of the Shoushan Military Camp armory, He Yuzhu put his car into the space and began to scout carefully.

He discovered that this Military Camp was heavily guarded: there were sentry posts everywhere inside the walls, and there were patrols with hounds and hidden sentries on the perimeter, clearly having strengthened their vigilance after suffering a loss.

He Yuzhu did not approach, turning instead to search for an ambush site.

He drove slowly along the essential route from the arsenal to the pier, his gaze scanning the terrain along the way with sharpness.

Finally, at a spot about five kilometers from the arsenal, he found an ideal location for the attack.

There was a sharp curve here; on one side of the road was a gentle hill, while the other side was a steep rock face.

The road narrowed at the curve, forcing the convoy to slow down when passing, making it an excellent spot for an ambush.

He Yuzhu stopped the car, climbed the hill, and began to carefully calculate the time it would take for the vehicles to pass.

This attack on the convoy was different from the last; he had to accurately blow up the vehicles transporting soldiers while ensuring the vehicles loaded with medicine were not affected by the blast, so he could seize the medicine amidst the chaos.

After making all preparations, He Yuzhu quickly moved forward to the ten-kilometer mark.

He put his car back into the space, hid in the grass by the roadside, held his breath, and waited for the convoy transporting the medicine to arrive.

Around nine o'clock, the flickering beams of headlights finally appeared at the end of the road in the distance, and the roar of engines grew from far to near.

He Yuzhu quietly activated the Scanning Function, sensing the interior of every military vehicle that drove past.

Ten boxes of Penicillin were in the 33rd vehicle; the target was finally locked.

After the convoy passed, He Yuzhu released a black Jaguar sedan from the space—naturally, this was a car he had acquired.

He started the engine, which emitted a low and powerful roar, and the sedan sped past the convoy like an arrow released from a bow.

He Yuzhu had arrived ahead of time at the previously selected ambush site.

He quickly adjusted the placement of several key demolition points, and once everything was ready, he quickly hid in the bunker he had dug in advance.

In the distance, the roar of the convoy was gradually drawing near.
