Chapter 496: Entering the Air Base at Night

~8 min read 1,549 words

He Yuzhu nodded, indicating he understood.

Just as this patrol team turned to leave, he ran a few steps closer to them, and with a thought, he took the entire patrol team into his space.

He Yuzhu did not pause for even a second; he quickly crossed the gangway to board the first of his company's cargo ships.

The cargo ship's hatch was locked tight, with a seal still pasted on it.

He Yuzhu took the door and the lock together into his space, then slipped inside.

Inside the cargo hold, various equipment he had commissioned for import was neatly stacked.

He Yuzhu walked along, and the equipment disappeared row by row.

Finally, he also placed explosives in the engine room.

Following the same method, he quickly emptied the other two Dongfang Company cargo ships.

Inside these two cargo ships, besides his own goods, there were supplies consigned by other companies—large quantities of textile machinery, food processing production lines, hundreds of sewing machines and sergers, and even two complete sets of printing equipment.

He Yuzhu felt invigorated. With these pieces of equipment, the industrial park he had planned seemed to truly have the possibility of being realized.

Immediately after, he boarded several other impounded cargo ships nearby.

The goods inside were a motley collection: small machine tools, mountains of rubber products, bags of flour and sugar... He Yuzhu shuttled between the cargo holds, once again performing a rapid "collect, collect, collect."

When all the target ships had been emptied and loaded with High Explosive, He Yuzhu began the second step of his plan.

He first ran to the front of those two Supply Ships to watch the excitement.

It was already crowded with people, and military police had pulled up cordon lines.

Everyone knew the goods inside had vanished into thin air, and many military police were inside investigating the traces.

He Yuzhu left slowly, and after walking a distance, he pressed the Remote Control.

"Boom——!!!"

The first explosion was like a bolt from the blue, and the orange-red fireball dyed half the sky red.

The Supply Ship was blown directly into two halves, and no one inside survived—because He Yuzhu had doubled the amount of Explosive.

The people standing on the shore watching the excitement were scared silly, and for a moment, they even forgot to run.

Immediately after, the second and third Supply Ships exploded one after another.

The dock workers began to panic, and they ran outward for their lives.

"Boom, boom, boom——!!!"

On the other side, the impounded cargo ships also began to explode.

Blazing flames soared into the air, rolling straight up to the clouds, dyeing half the horizon a terrifying red.

Immediately, sirens wailed shrilly across the port, and people ran and screamed in a panic.

At this moment, He Yuzhu was running outward for his life together with the dock workers.

He rushed onto the main street and saw a team of military police desperately running toward the inside of the dock.

The street vendors were frantically packing up their stalls, and the shops were closing their door panels one after another; the entire street became deserted in an instant.

He slipped into a narrow alley, and just as he stopped, he caught a glimpse of an American officer with his arms around two women in kimonos, turning into a small courtyard.

He Yuzhu understood immediately—this was what the old saying in Si Jiu Cheng called a "hidden brothel."

He remained calm, instantly taking the Jeep parked at the alley entrance into his space, then ran wildly, passing through several streets until no one could be seen around, before bringing that military Jeep back out.

He sat in the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove toward the next stop—Kadena Air Base.

He had always felt bitter about not having the chance to go to the Korean War back then.

Now that this group of people dared to impound his ships, then don't blame him for being heartless.

This time, he had to make these bastards see hell with their own eyes.

Kadena Air Base was not far from Naha Port, a journey of over thirty kilometers, and he arrived in just over half an hour.

He Yuzhu took the car into his space and began to scout the surroundings.

He activated Scanning and discovered that the perimeter of the base's tarmac had several layers of defense: on the outermost side were patrol teams walking back and forth, further in were barbed wire and minefields, and behind the minefields were guard posts and bunkers.

These arrangements were like an impregnable fortress to ordinary people, but to the current He Yuzhu, they were very simple.

However, he didn't want to enter from here—he wanted to enter through the main gate.

After the sky turned completely dark, He Yuzhu crept to a street corner and hid in the shadows.

Not long after, a military truck came rumbling along at a slow speed.

Just as the vehicle slowed down to turn, He Yuzhu darted out like a cheetah, quietly climbed onto the rear cargo bed, and then flashed into his space.

The truck slowly drove into the base.

Not until the vehicle came to a complete stop did He Yuzhu come out from his space, quickly get off, and hide under the truck.

After the truck finished unloading and drove away, he began to collect the things inside the Warehouse.

This Warehouse was very large, at least over 2000 square meters, and the air was filled with the smell of machine oil and metal.

This was an aviation material depot, and everything in sight was aircraft parts: engines, propellers, landing gear, piles of tires and brake pads... He Yuzhu knew these things were of little use at the moment, but he was still unceremonious, and with a thought, he took them all into his space.

After clearing this area, he did not stop, but continued to scout other storage areas.

Soon, he figured out the layout: the fuel depot and the armory were on the outermost side of the airport, and the quartermaster depot area was not far from here.

Relying on the advantage of being able to hide at any time, He Yuzhu passed through the laxly guarded areas like a ghost and easily snuck into the quartermaster depot.

The Warehouse was packed full.

Rice and flour were piled into small hills, various canned goods were stacked neatly, and there were crates of cola, drums of cooking oil, coffee, granulated sugar, powdered milk, chocolate, biscuits... it was simply a treasure trove of food.

He Yuzhu's eyes lit up; after this wave of replenishment, it would be enough for him and his family to eat well for several years.

With a turn of his mind, the supplies in the Warehouse were instantly emptied.

Just as he was about to leave, footsteps and low laughter suddenly came from outside the door.

He Yuzhu quickly hid behind the gate, and saw two tall black soldiers walk in one after the other.

In the darkness, one could almost only see the white teeth they revealed when they smiled.

"Bell, why is the warehouse door open? And the lights aren't on either," the big guy named Weber muttered, "You wait here, I'm going in to swipe some stuff."

"Weber, we're on duty; if things go missing from the warehouse, we'll be held responsible!" Bell replied in a lowered voice.

"Responsible? This warehouse is so big, who would notice if a few things were missing?" Weber said dismissively.

"That won't do! Don't you study the soldier's regulations?" Bell said.

"That kid Morris carries stolen canned goods to find Japanese broads every day," Weber complained.

"That kid Morris knows how to butter people up, and he has a good relationship with Lieutenant Cook; can you do that?" Bell said.

"So, when I go out, I can only find Japanese aunties. Last time I found one with a sharp mouth and monkey cheeks, she was nearly fifty and still acting young; it makes me sick just thinking about it!" Weber spat and said.

Bell laughed: "You knew she was over fifty and still went for it?"

"I had the need, but no money, what else could I do?" Weber sighed, his tone full of self-mockery.

"Then you should go hang out at an izakaya; maybe the Japanese aunties would even pay you!" Bell joked.

"Screw you!" Weber cursed.

As soon as the two entered the warehouse, they felt something was wrong. Bell suddenly turned on his flashlight and shone it around, then cried out in alarm, "Weber! The warehouse has been robbed! We need to report this immediately!"

Before the words had even faded, He Yuzhu appeared like a ghost and chopped the back of his neck with one palm.

Bell let out a muffled grunt and collapsed to the ground.

Weber reacted extremely quickly; relying on his experience as a former practitioner of Boxing, he swung a heavy punch fiercely!

He Yuzhu ducked to avoid it, stepped forward with the momentum, and landed a precise uppercut that struck Weber's jaw hard.

Weber didn't even manage a grunt before he passed out cold.

Just as He Yuzhu was about to go out, the sound of chaotic footsteps suddenly rang out from outside.
