Chapter 517: Saving Zhao Ying

~10 min read 1,882 words

He Yuzhu did not take the Shenzhen Bay route this time; that way was too far. The matter was urgent, so he intended to sail his boat over openly and deal with anyone who tried to stop him.

He set off directly from Guangzhou's Huangpu Wharf in a fishing boat. By the time the boat neared Hong Kong, the sky had darkened, and only sporadic fishing lights remained in the distance on the sea.

He quickly switched to the patrol boat from his space, then swaggered toward the port.

The Hong Kong British Government patrol boat saw this distinctively painted M Country vessel from afar and, surprisingly, no one came forward to intercept it.

Just as he was about to dock, another M Country patrol boat suddenly cut across and blocked his path.

The disguised He Yuzhu, his face covered in a thick beard and wearing tattered fisherman's clothes, stood in the cockpit, looking at the others with a blank expression.

Several M Country soldiers leaned over the ship's rail, pointing at him and cursing: "Asshole! Why are you driving our patrol boat?"

"The people are dead! I picked it up from the sea!" He Yuzhu said in Chinese.

"What is he saying?" one M Country soldier asked.

"Who cares? Go over and check. If there's a problem, kill him!" a burly white man said.

Five M Country soldiers cursed as they approached He Yuzhu's boat and jumped on board one after another.

Before they could even stand steady, He Yuzhu's mind stirred, and the five men vanished instantly, taken into his space.

On the opposite boat, another M Country soldier was leaning against the cabin door. Witnessing this eerie scene, he froze for a second and reached for the gun at his waist—

"Bang!"

The sniper rifle in He Yuzhu's hand had already fired.

The man fell onto the deck at the sound.

He Yuzhu quickly leaped onto the opposite boat.

The soldier driving the patrol boat seemed not to notice the commotion outside, still humming along to the radio.

He Yuzhu silently pressed up behind him, held a gun to his waist, and said in a low voice, "Drive to the wharf and stop steadily."

The soldier stiffened, hurriedly raised his hands, and obediently steered the boat toward the berth.

As soon as the boat was docked, He Yuzhu took him into his space, quickly changed into his military uniform, adjusted the cap, and swaggered off the boat.

At Queen's Pier, seven or eight M Country warships were docked, their dark shadows looming like crouching giant beasts.

Although He Yuzhu did not know the specific reason for Liu Rusi's distress call, seeing this scene, he guessed a few things—it was mostly related to these M Country warships.

He noticed that people leaving the port had to undergo inspection by the British side. His heart tightened, but there was no turning back, so he simply handed over his documents with a calm demeanor.

The Hong Kong border inspection personnel glanced at them, didn't look closely, and waved him through.

The streets of Hong Kong were dimly lit. Everywhere one could see M Country soldiers walking by, rowdy and noisy, with beer in one hand and Southeast Asian women in their arms.

He Yuzhu lowered his head, walked through the crowd, found a quiet corner, released his car, and drove straight to Liu Rusi's residence.

He pressed the doorbell, and Pingping soon came to open the door. Her hair was disheveled, her eyes red and swollen. Upon seeing He Yuzhu, her voice trembled: "Something terrible has happened... let the Mistress explain it to you in detail."

He Yuzhu walked quickly into the living room and saw Liu Rusi sitting on the sofa holding He Mu, her face haggard.

The child was crying heart-rendingly, and no matter how she patted and comforted the child, it was useless.

He Yuzhu reached out and took the child. Strangely enough, as soon as He Mu was in his arms, the crying gradually stopped. The child opened teary eyes and whispered, "Mother, I'm scared..."

Liu Rusi took the child back and coaxed softly, "Mumu, don't be afraid, this is your father."

He Mu turned his little face away, buried it in her shoulder, and refused to look at He Yuzhu.

Liu Rusi handed the child to Pingping to take into the inner room, then turned to brew a cup of tea, her fingers still trembling slightly:

"The Eastern Shipping Company's warehouse and office building have been sealed off, and the senior management has all been arrested; Zhao Ying is among them. When they broke into the warehouse, many security guards resisted... over 100 were killed, over 600 were captured, and the remaining thousands took off their uniforms... and scattered."

He Yuzhu listened quietly, his face expressionless, only his eyes growing colder.

He asked, "Did the Hong Kong government assist the M Military?"

Liu Rusi shook her head: "The two sides seem to have had a falling out. I heard from Li Yong that the Hong Kong government has already reported it to the United Kingdom. But the police dare not touch the M Country soldiers; instead, they are keeping a close eye on Jin Hai's Brotherhood."

"So that means we no longer have the strength to confront them?"

Liu Rusi nodded and added in a low voice, "Vice President Zhou Yu... voluntarily defected to them and provided quite a bit of evidence against us."

"There are traitors in every era!" He Yuzhu gritted his teeth and fiercely stubbed out his cigarette.

"These M Country people, if they want to rob, they rob, yet they still find a bunch of excuses. It's truly disgusting." He stood up, "Who is the leader? Where do they usually operate? I'll take him out first."

"This person is very cautious and basically stays on the warship." Liu Rusi opened the notebook at her side.

"Which ship is Zhao Ying being held on?"

"A supply ship, with 'Number 3' written on the hull."

"Sister, do you have any suggestions?"

Liu Rusi pondered for a moment: "In my opinion, since they are coming for our assets, we might as well burn the warehouse down and leave them nothing."

"Sister, you are too kind," He Yuzhu curled his lips, "I know what to do. First, save Zhao Ying, then blow up a few ships and kill a few hundred of them, and see who still dares to come ashore so easily."

"Zhuzi, this is too dangerous!" Liu Rusi grabbed his arm, "If the property is gone, it's gone; you cannot get into trouble!"

"Don't you know my abilities by now?"

"By the way..." Liu Rusi's voice dropped, "Three of your black brothers have died; only Martin is left."

After hearing this, He Yuzhu's anger flared up. He gritted his teeth and smiled in a chilling way.

Liu Rusi added hurriedly: "There is one more thing... the reason the losses were so great this time is because the Taiwan Secret Service Bureau also intervened, still that Bureau Chief Zheng. Fortunately, I have always been in contact with Zhao Ying through a single line, so she didn't find her way to me."

"Like a ghost that won't go away," He Yuzhu said coldly, "This time, I'll wipe them all out at once."

"From now on, this place will be the contact point." Liu Rusi gripped his hand tightly, "No matter what you do, you must come by every day to report that you are safe."

"Should I send you to the Mainland first? I always feel it's not safe for you here."

"With hundreds of subordinates, I cannot leave." Liu Rusi leaned on his shoulder and said softly, "Besides, with you here, what do I have to fear?"

She looked up and kissed He Yuzhu's cheek lightly. In that instant, it was as if the two had returned to the days of five or six years ago when they relied on each other for survival.

"Sister, take care." He Yuzhu hugged her tightly, then turned and walked out of the old tenement building.

The night grew deeper, and neon lights flickered on the streets.

He Yuzhu was walking slowly along the street when he caught a glimpse of an M Country soldier stumbling out of a noisy bar. The man's build was similar to his own, and his face shape was also somewhat alike.

He Yuzhu followed him without a word, and while the other man entered a dark alley to relieve himself, he quickly subdued him and took him into his space.

He Yuzhu changed into that military uniform, put on a red-haired wig and a fake beard, grabbed a bag of food and a few cartons of cigarettes, and lowered his head to blend into a group of soldiers returning to their ships.

The inspections in Hong Kong were merely for show; the sentries didn't even look and just waved them through.

The M Military side was slightly stricter with their checks, with a non-commissioned officer checking a roster; He Yuzhu fluently recited the birthday on the identification in English, and the other man glanced at him and let him pass as well.

—Perhaps no one believed that anyone would dare to do something so crazy.

He Yuzhu walked to the edge of the pier, where the crowd dispersed toward different warships.

Three destroyers were docked in front of the port, being the largest in size and brightly lit.

He walked slowly toward the back, and after about a kilometer, he finally saw that "Number Three" Supply Ship quietly moored in a corner, with dim lights on its deck.

Just as he stepped onto the gangway, three soldiers on duty stopped him.

A big white man stared at him: "Show your identification."

While taking out the identification, He Yuzhu moved closer to the three of them.

"Don't move!" another burly man sensed something was wrong and shouted sternly.

He Yuzhu ignored him entirely and lunged forward a few steps; just as those men were about to draw their guns, they were already within a ten-meter range. With a thought, the three of them vanished instantly.

The internal passages of the warship were narrow; as long as he got close, He Yuzhu could take people into his space.

There were not many soldiers on this Supply Ship, and he quickly cleared out the personnel on the perimeter.

Just as he was about to go deeper, he suddenly heard the sound of a woman crying out.

He Yuzhu became alert immediately and walked quickly forward, only to see two white soldiers dragging a young woman toward the cabin next door outside a First Division cabin door.

He followed quietly and saw the two men drag the woman into the cabin, reaching out to tear at her clothes.

He Yuzhu flashed inside, smashed a fist into the back of the left soldier's head, and struck the other man on the right directly on the jaw with his other fist.

The two men fell to the ground and fainted instantly.

The woman was trembling all over from fear, staring at He Yuzhu with wide eyes.

He didn't speak, but raised his hand and struck the back of her neck, knocking her unconscious, and then took her into his space.
