Chapter 521: Counterattack
The smoke from the explosion had not yet dissipated when He Yuzhu sprinted toward the villa.
The scene was too gruesome to look at; he had no way of telling if Bureau Chief Zheng was inside the destroyed vehicle.
Just as He Yuzhu approached the villa gate, five fully armed men rushed out, clearly startled by the massive explosion and coming out to investigate.
He Yuzhu's pupils constricted, and he quickly dodged behind a banyan tree.
Seeing that the men had run some distance away and that people inside the villa would likely not hear the sound of gunfire, he immediately took a sniper rifle equipped with a silencer from his space.
The five men walked quickly past He Yuzhu; he raised his rifle steadily and locked onto his targets with precision.
"Pfft—"
"Pfft—pfft—"
The low-pitched gunshots rang out one after another, and the three men in the lead fell to the ground in response.
The remaining two reacted, turned around quickly, and ran back toward the villa.
He Yuzhu's eyes were cold; he shifted the muzzle slightly and pulled the trigger again.
"Pfft! Pfft!"
The last two figures also stumbled and collapsed to the ground one after another.
He Yuzhu did not pause for a second and rushed toward the villa gate.
He quickly activated the Detection System and discovered a sturdy bunker directly facing the gate, with a Heavy Machine Gun mounted at the opening.
If he had charged in directly just now, he would likely have been riddled with holes by now.
Since he had identified this hidden danger, he had no choice but to look for another entrance.
He crouched low and quickly ran to the side of the villa.
A high wire fence surrounded this area.
After getting close, He Yuzhu moved his mind, and a large section of the wire fence was pulled into his space, immediately revealing a huge gap.
He Yuzhu quickly slipped inside, his movements as light as a night-prowling civet cat.
The sky had turned completely dark; only the main building of the villa had lights on, while both side wings were pitch black.
He Yuzhu turned on the Scanning again and confirmed that there was indeed no one in the two dark buildings before he pressed against the wall and approached the main building silently.
There were three men inside the building holding Submachine Guns, their expressions tense; they had clearly sensed that danger was approaching.
He Yuzhu raised his sniper rifle and took care of these three in a matter of moments.
The ones he really needed to deal with seriously were the three people in the bunker.
He crawled slowly toward them; the people in the bunker seemed to have panicked, as they actually opened the door, and one head poked out.
"Pfft!" He Yuzhu killed him with a single shot.
He then approached the bunker entrance and pulled the last two security guards who were putting up a desperate resistance directly into his space.
He Yuzhu began to quickly clear the battlefield and discovered a wall-mounted safe in a small room.
Without a word, he pulled the safe directly into his space.
He had already detected the money inside; there were 450,000 Hong Kong Dollars, which must have been the operational funds for the secret agents.
He did not find any trace of Bureau Chief Zheng in the villa; this left only two possibilities: either Bureau Chief Zheng had died outside, or he had already evacuated in advance.
Regardless, he had to evacuate; police sirens could already be heard approaching from afar.
He had not gone far from the villa when a large number of police cars arrived with wailing sirens, surrounding the explosion site.
He Yuzhu did not go home; he went straight to find the Chinese Chief Inspector Li Yong.
The two had not seen each other for more than two years.
After the guard reported his arrival, He Yuzhu waited outside the police station for Li Yong, who came out in a hurry.
He opened his palm to reveal a Bullet Shell that had been deliberately flattened—this was the rendezvous token the two had agreed upon years ago.
When Li Yong saw him, he was stunned for a moment, and then a complex sense of excitement welled up on his face.
He grabbed He Yuzhu's arm and pointed to the restaurant across the street, "Zhuzi! Let's go, to the old place."
The two entered a private room in the restaurant, ordered a few specialty dishes, and asked for a bottle of Western Liquor.
Li Yong filled two glasses, picked up his own, and said solemnly, "Zhuzi, those bastards led by Gedeng deserve the fate they've met!"
"Who is Gedeng?" He Yuzhu asked.
Li Yong almost spat out his drink, but upon second thought, he felt that He Yuzhu might truly not know who Gedeng was.
"He's the General Commander of that fleet!" Li Yong said with a bitter smile.
He Yuzhu sighed and said, "The company we've been running for over six years was destroyed by this bastard!"
Li Yong cursed angrily, "They caused the trouble themselves, yet they wanted to cut flesh from you to fill the hole—they're simply beasts! To tell you the truth, I was furious when I heard the news, but I have no real power... I could only rush to find Lao Qian to pass the word, but I didn't expect to be a step too late; those bastards moved too fast."
He Yuzhu shook his head and clinked glasses with him, "You can't be blamed for this. Tell me, what does Governor Ge Lianghong plan to do next?"
Li Yong lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and said, "The Governor never approved of Gedeng's reckless actions from the start, but he couldn't control him, and he didn't want to have a falling out with Gedeng's group. Now that things have reached this point, his attitude remains 'non-intervention.' Although the US Investigation Bureau has already intervened in the investigation, our Police Department's stance is... it's better not to provoke a force that can blow a fleet to the sky."
He Yuzhu nodded slowly, understanding in his heart. In the end, it was Gedeng who crossed the line first and broke the rules; naturally, Hong Kong was unwilling to clean up his mess.
"We plan to give up the Eastern Shipping Company... but our new company will be established soon, and it will likely be fronted by Jin Hai. I need your help with one thing: tell those powerful shipping companies in Hong Kong not to bid on the assets of the Dongfang Company... otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite. Can you handle this?"
Li Yong nodded immediately, "I will pass the word and make them weigh the consequences."
He Yuzhu smiled, took a paper package from his bag, and pushed it toward Li Yong; it contained 200,000 Hong Kong Dollars. "This isn't for you; it's for your men. Also, withdraw everyone you have watching Jin Hai!"
Li Yong looked at the thick paper package, his throat moved, and in the end, he did not decline, nodding heavily, "I understand."
After leaving the restaurant, He Yuzhu returned to Liu Rusi's residence.
Liu Rusi was playing with He Mu; when the little guy saw He Yuzhu enter, he immediately hid behind his mother, looking timid.
He Yuzhu shook his head helplessly, "This kid isn't as fun as my sister; she isn't afraid of me, but this kid hides as soon as he sees me."
Liu Rusi shook her head slightly and explained, "He hasn't seen you much since he was born, so he's naturally shy. By the way, what happened with Bureau Chief Zheng?" Her tone carried a hint of urgency.
He Yuzhu then gave a detailed account of his experiences that night.
Liu Rusi couldn't help but laugh after hearing this: "Their losses this time are heavy enough; they no longer have the ability to oppose me!"
"I'm just afraid it's like wild grass; it cannot be burned away, and it grows again with the spring breeze," He Yuzhu said, shaking his head.
Liu Rusi nodded, "However, it won't be that easy for them to rebuild their liaison station."
"Zhao Ying told me she wants to form a new shipping company, recruit all the excellent employees from Dongfang Company back, and operate it under the name of Jin Hai," He Yuzhu relayed the consensus he had reached with Zhao Ying.
Liu Rusi frowned, "Does she have a candidate for General Manager?"
He Yuzhu shook his head: "No!"
Liu Rusi pondered for a moment and said: "How about transferring Su Qing back from M Country? Although I haven't met him, Zhao Ying has praised him to me quite a bit."
He Yuzhu's eyes lit up: "Su Qing... he is indeed a good candidate. He is steady and reliable, yet he does not lack strategy."
A trace of worry flashed across Liu Rusi's face.
"Sister, what are you worried about?" He Yuzhu noticed her concerns.
"Buying ships requires a large amount of capital. Even if we pool all the money we have on hand, I'm afraid it won't be nearly enough," Liu Rusi said, looking troubled.
He Yuzhu smiled, and while gently pinching He Mu's little face, he asked: "Sister, do you know how much of our money HSBC has frozen?"
Liu Rusi shook her head.
"As for the capital to start this company, let's just make HSBC the major shareholder!" A cold smile curled the corners of He Yuzhu's mouth.
Upon hearing this, Liu Rusi's face was immediately filled with worry: "Zhuzi, your courage is growing larger and larger!"
He Yuzhu smiled and did not continue this topic, asking in a gentle tone: "My mother misses her grandson; when the New Year comes, how about you go back with me to see her?"
Liu Rusi's expression softened instantly, and she nodded gently.
The next morning, just as the sky was beginning to brighten, He Yuzhu had already risen.
He disguised himself as a scruffy middle-aged man and walked in the direction of HSBC.
