Chapter 791: Harm Others, Harm Yourself
Lao Qiao hurriedly stepped forward, trying to smooth things over in broken English: "Mr. Puredi, I am sorry! We drank some beer last night, which is why we were late for work this morning. We are willing to work overtime to make up for the time."
But Puredi, having been kicked by He Yuzhu, refused to let it go: "All fired, not a single one left, a bunch of lazy pigs!"
These words instantly ignited He Yuzhu's temper.
He stepped forward and delivered several slaps, beating Puredi's face until it was red and swollen, looking exactly like a pig's head.
Puredi was completely enraged; with red eyes, he charged headlong at He Yuzhu.
He Yuzhu was agile, dodging left and right. Puredi missed repeatedly, tripped several times, and ended up covered in yellow sand, looking utterly wretched.
Just as the two were making a scene, Haishan, the general manager in charge of the entire project coordination, happened to pass by.
Puredi, as if seeing a backer, immediately rushed over to add fuel to the fire and complain tearfully: "Sir, these people are lazy and disobedient, and they even hit people. You must drive them all away!"
"You stinking Indian, stop twisting the truth here! I'm not serving this shitty job anymore!" He Yuzhu scolded coldly.
Haishan beckoned to Lao Qiao.
Lao Qiao usually had some rapport with him, so he hurriedly stepped forward to explain cautiously: "Mr. Haishan, we had a drink last night and got up late this morning, but this Mr. Puredi started cursing as soon as he came over... We truly want to stay and finish the project, to see it through to the end."
Haishan waved his hand gently, his face showing helplessness: "The foreman insists on firing you. This is the camp's rule and the project's procedure; I cannot break the precedent to stop it."
After speaking, he raised his hand to signal, his tone flat: "Go to the finance office to settle your wages! Pack your things and leave."
Lao Qiao pleaded with Haishan for a long time, but Haishan remained unmoved.
The five of them were fired just like that.
Under the surveillance of the military base soldiers, they simply packed their luggage.
The soldiers assigned them a broken truck and kicked them out of the Military Camp.
As soon as they left the Military Camp, Lao Qiao complained to He Yuzhu: "He Dazhu, it's all your fault! If you hadn't treated us to beer, would we have missed work? You even dared to hit someone. This is a Military Camp; if you offend them even a little, you'll have to eat bullets."
Gao Dayong said: "Lao Qiao, forget it, forget it. What's the point of complaining now?"
He Yuzhu laughed: "In my opinion, this Military Camp is bound to have trouble in the future. Maybe it's a good thing we left early."
Liu Xiaoqiang leaned over and asked: "Brother Dazhu, did you see those hundred-plus trucks? I saw the things loaded on them were almost crushing the wheels flat. What do you think is loaded on them?"
He Yuzhu laughed and scolded: "Are you looking for death? Did you leak the name 'He Dazhu' to Puredi, you brat?"
Liu Xiaoqiang blinked: "Brother Dazhu, I was just joking, and that idiot Puredi heard it. He asked me whose name it was, so I said it was yours. He guessed it wasn't a nice word and asked others."
Liu Xiaohu looked at Wang Tiezhu.
Wang Tiezhu chuckled foolishly: "Puredi asked me what 'Dazhu' meant, so I told him. How was I supposed to know he was giving Brother Dazhu a nickname?"
He Yuzhu waved his hand: "Let's leave this place quickly. I feel this place is a place of trouble."
Lao Qiao said: "We clearly still had one-tenth of the project left to finish, yet he deducted one-fourth of our wages. That's really excessive!"
He Yuzhu took out his own wages: "Hey, this is all because of me. I won't take this money; I'll give it all to you."
When Gao Dayong saw He Yuzhu being so straightforward, his resentment vanished, and he said: "He Dazhu, you also have a family to support. Keep this money and go home."
He Yuzhu smiled: "I have plenty of strength; I can make a living anywhere."
Under his insistence, he still divided the money among the other four people.
The old military truck had only been running for twenty minutes when the two people sitting in the vehicle suddenly stopped it on the side of the road.
A man looking like an officer got out of the car: "Everyone get down, everyone get down, the car is broken! Help us push it."
After the five of them got out, they pushed the car forward.
The officer pretended to push at the passenger-side door, but He Yuzhu saw through his little trick at a glance and kept an eye on his movements.
Suddenly, the car was restarted.
The officer jumped directly into the car.
The car drove off, not intending to take these people at all.
He Yuzhu ran a few steps, picked up a stone from the ground, and smashed it fiercely at the windshield.
"Crash—" the windshield shattered all over the ground.
The driver was startled by this sudden turn of events and slammed on the brakes.
He Yuzhu stepped forward, pulled open the car door, quickly dragged the officer out, and knocked him unconscious with one punch.
The driver just wanted to pull out a gun, but He Yuzhu threw another stone, which hit him right in the forehead.
The man clutched his head and howled loudly on the spot.
He Yuzhu ordered: "Lao Qiao, you guys tie him up!"
Lao Qiao was afraid: "They are from the Revolutionary Guard; if we tie them up, will it cause trouble?"
He Yuzhu said: "Didn't you see? They wanted to dump us in the desert. There are still more than thirty kilometers to go; how could we possibly walk out alive?"
Lao Qiao was stunned upon hearing this. The four of them hurriedly stepped forward to pin the man down.
He Yuzhu held the officer down and interrogated him: "Why did you want to dump us here?" The officer was quite tough at first, but after He Yuzhu slapped him a few times, he finally realized this person was not to be trifled with and hurriedly begged for mercy: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I was bribed by that Puredi; he gave me three hundred dollars."
He Yuzhu cursed: "Damn despicable! Dumping us in the desert without a car is a dead end."
The officer didn't make another sound.
Lao Qiao came over and asked: "He Dazhu, what should we do? Should we let them go?"
He Yuzhu said: "Let them go, my ass! If we let them go, we're dead."
Gao Dayong said: "Brothers, let's finish what we started and bury them in the sand."
Liu Xiaoqiang hesitated: "But this... this is murder."
He Yuzhu said: "It was them who wanted to kill us first. It's lucky this officer didn't just shoot us with a gun. We'll bury them in the sand; if someone comes to save them, they can live. If no one saves them, then that's their fate."
Liu Xiaoqiang asked: "He Dazhu, then how do we get out?"
He Yuzhu said: "Escape from the desert, find a small boat, sail to another country, and then take a plane back."
Lao Qiao was a bit scared: "But we all have records for working abroad; will we be wanted later?"
He Yuzhu felt he was really being too timid: "Then you stay here by yourself, and we'll drive away."
Upon hearing this, Lao Qiao's expression changed immediately: "Then... then I'll work with you all!"
He Yuzhu said: "Since everyone is going to do this, everyone must fulfill their responsibility. Liu Xiaoqiang, you, Gao Dayong, and Lao Qiao, the three of you go dig the pit."
After speaking, He Yuzhu pretended to take two Combat Shovels from under the car seat—in reality, he took them from his space. "Wang Tiezhu, you watch these two carefully."
Lao Qiao asked: "Then what are you going to do?"
He Yuzhu said: "I'm checking the car. How can we leave if the car doesn't run? I need to see how much fuel is left to determine where we can go. If there's too little fuel, none of us will get out."
Only then did Lao Qiao obediently go to dig the pit.
That officer and the driver knew they were about to be buried under the sand and started howling.
He Yuzhu walked over and, with one kick each, knocked the two of them unconscious again.
