Chapter 802: Night Boarding of the Supply Ship

~9 min read 1,704 words

The seagulls circling above the pier cried in a way that made one's heart restless.

He Yuzhu crouched in the shadow of a dilapidated Fishing Boat, the sea breeze thick with a fishy stench, constantly forcing its way into his nose.

In the distance, that aircraft carrier lay on the deep blue sea surface like a gray behemoth. Patrol boats shuttled back and forth around it, dragging out trails of white wake.

This was already the seventh day.

He crushed the cigarette butt in his hand and narrowed his eyes.

Blowing up an aircraft carrier wasn't difficult; what was difficult was coordinating an operation with that group of mercenaries who couldn't even hold a gun steady.

But since the mission had been accepted, he couldn't just blow up the carrier himself while the others stood by and watched.

If he really went back to report the mission like that, there would be no way to distribute the pay to those people when it came time to reward merit.

Forget it.

Ordinary people do ordinary things.

He called over several squad leaders and said in a low voice, "For the next period of time, we must train the team well, specifically to ambush the supply vehicles entering and leaving the pier. Take as many as you can. Don't be greedy; withdraw immediately after the strike."

Over the course of a dozen days, fifteen men in the team were killed in action and thirty were wounded; nearly half of the personnel who went out on operations were lost.

But through these repeated sneak attacks, He Yuzhu also discovered a few good prospects.

Among them were Sadake, who had once been his instructor, as well as Hasan, Omar, and Halide, who had joined the team later.

The four stood before him, their eyes shining with an astonishing light, revealing a fearless, death-defying conviction.

He Yuzhu glanced at them and spoke slowly: "I have a bold plan. The risk is extreme, but as long as it is executed properly, we will definitely be able to blow up the aircraft carrier..."

Sadake was stunned for a long time after hearing it, then pondered for a while before saying, "If they have no intention of capturing us, can't we just open fire and launch a frontal assault?"

To completely dispel their notion of a reckless, head-on charge, He Yuzhu selected five or six mercenaries with outstanding marksmanship and distributed guns to them, along with exercise-only bullets seized from M Country.

He Yuzhu held a gun alone, facing six men by himself. After a round of practical drills, the result was clear at a glance: he struck suddenly, and in less than two seconds, he was able to "hit" all six men with the exercise rounds, while those six hadn't even had time to raise their guns to aim.

Afterward, He Yuzhu demonstrated on the spot his escape techniques after being restrained by Handcuffs and bound by Rope.

Sadake, serving as Deputy Captain, saw all the deductions and demonstrations with his own eyes, and only then was he completely convinced and agreed to He Yuzhu's bold plan.

The sky was just beginning to brighten, and the sea surface was hazy.

He Yuzhu and his group drove the rented, dilapidated Fishing Boat, slowly sailing toward the aircraft carrier formation.

The motor chugged, churning up a trail of murky spray at the stern.

Sadake sat at the bow, pretending to organize fishing nets; Hasan leaned against the rudder, yawning—this yawn was actually real, as they had stayed up all night specifically learning how to fake fishing.

The Fishing Boat drifted slowly on the sea for forty minutes, having long since entered the field of vision of the opponent's lookout.

A white patrol boat cut through the waves from the direction of the aircraft carrier, moving so fast it was almost skimming the surface of the sea.

He Yuzhu immediately killed the motor and crouched on the deck with his hands behind his head. The four people beside him followed suit.

The patrol boat slowly pulled alongside. Six fully armed soldiers did not fire immediately; they intercepted the Fishing Boat and aimed their guns directly at them.

The group was quickly hauled onto the patrol boat, their wrists bound tightly with thick Rope.

A white soldier, a squad leader, kicked He Yuzhu and spat out a string of English.

He Yuzhu, bound and pressed against the ship's rail, looked up with an innocent face and asked back in fluent English: "On what grounds are you arresting me? Is this sea yours? We are just fishing peacefully; is that a crime?"

The white soldier sneered: "What kind of ordinary fisherman speaks fluent English? You are definitely a spy."

"I used to be a tour guide," He Yuzhu said, his expression unchanging. "After you arrived, no one dared to come for tourism. I lost my livelihood and was forced to go out to sea to fish. In the end, it's all thanks to you."

The white soldier's face darkened. He stood up, swung his arm, and prepared to slap He Yuzhu across the face: "I'll teach you to be a smart-aleck!"

The slap, however, never landed.

A crisp sound like a snapping bowstring rang out, and the Rope binding He Yuzhu snapped instantly; he freed his hands with ease.

He lowered his head slightly to dodge the incoming slap and smashed an uppercut hard into the white squad leader's jaw.

The man's eyes rolled back, and he fainted on the spot.

Immediately after, He Yuzhu kicked precisely into another soldier's temple.

That man fell straight to the deck, completely unconscious.

In less than twenty seconds, all four soldiers and the two boat operators were sprawled on the deck; some had passed out, while others were so severely injured they would likely never wake up again.

Sadake, still bound by the Rope, had his mouth wide open in shock. He had already witnessed He Yuzhu's skills during the drill, but seeing him take down these tall, burly white men head-on was still incredibly shocking.

Hasan's reaction was even more exaggerated; he leaned back so far he almost flipped directly into the sea.

"A... Ali?" Sadake's voice changed pitch. "You are too amazing!"

He Yuzhu flexed his wrists, bent down to rummage through a white man's pockets, found a pack of cigarettes, lit one, and took a hard drag.

"This is nothing; I already demonstrated this to you."

"But these are tall, burly men!" Sadake exclaimed.

"I rely on technique and speed." As He Yuzhu spoke, he helped the others untie their Rope, then bound all six defeated enemies securely with their hands behind their backs.

"Get to work, Brother Sadake. The interrogation of these men is left to you."

"No problem." Sadake and Hasan each dragged a leader straight into the cabin.

In less than an hour, all the key intelligence had been extracted.

Sadake came forward to report: "The aircraft carrier doesn't dare enter the port for supplies for fear of sneak attacks, so it has to keep cruising in the deep sea. Supplies are all transferred via supply ships; fuel and fresh water are transported through hoses, and ammunition and food are moved by crane. The supply crates are about this big—" he gestured a cube, "one and a half meters square. When the two ships are docked side-by-side, the crane moves them back and forth."

He Yuzhu leaned against the ship's rail, silent for a long time.

Sadake couldn't help but ask: "What do we do next?"

"Send me onto the supply ship."

"Just you alone?"

"More people would only get in the way; acting alone is best." He Yuzhu flicked the cigarette butt into the sea. "You send me up, then withdraw immediately."

Sadake opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but swallowed it back in the end. He knew in his heart that his group couldn't really be of much help.

He Yuzhu opened his backpack and took out several flesh-colored masks.

"All of you, put these on."

Sadake took a mask, looked at it, and frowned, saying, "This doesn't look like anything even after putting it on."

"Don't be impatient, I haven't finished touching it up and painting it for you yet."

As he spoke, he compared the masks to the appearances of the unconscious white soldiers, using pigments to carefully outline the latex masks. The tip of his brush danced, tracing out eyebrows, cheekbone shadows, and the direction of stubble bit by bit, stroke by stroke, as meticulous as embroidery.

Sadake squatted to the side, watching quietly, not daring to even breathe loudly.

Twenty minutes later, Sadake looked at the faces of Hasan and the others and couldn't help but gasp.

After putting on the touched-up masks, the group looked exactly like the white soldiers, making it impossible to tell the real from the fake.

"My god," Hasan muttered, reaching out to touch the mask, only to have his hand slapped away by He Yuzhu.

"Don't touch it randomly; it's easy to damage and give us away."

At two o'clock in the morning, the sea was so dark you couldn't see your own fingers.

Only a few dim, yellow lights shone from the portholes of the supply ship in the distance, flickering as the waves rose and fell.

He Yuzhu stood at the bow of the patrol boat and accurately threw a rope with an iron hook onto the roof of the supply ship.

"After I go up, you all leave immediately."

Sadake asked with deep concern, "After you blow up the aircraft carrier, how will you escape?"

He Yuzhu smiled faintly, "Rest assured, I have my own way to find a small boat and leave."

As his voice faded, his figure, agile as a cat, climbed onto the ship's rail without a sound.

The others pulled back the rope, and his figure instantly vanished into the shadows of the ship's cabin.

Sadake stood on the Fishing Boat for a few seconds, and only when the silhouette of the supply ship had completely merged into the dark night did he whisper an order: "Go."

The patrol boat turned its bow, its motor chugging, and soon disappeared into the heavy darkness.
