Chapter 924: Infiltrating the Enemy's Lair
After hearing Mike's confession, a chill ran down He Yuzhu's back; the scheme the other side had laid out this time was truly massive in scale.
Cui Dan, along with five others, were all active members of the Special Operations Group under the CIA.
This time, the CIA had dispatched a full thirty veteran agents, the vast majority of whom had Chinese faces.
It turned out that ever since He Yuzhu sold the tea plantation for 500 million USD, the Black Stone Group had used various methods to repeatedly test it, yet they were never able to replicate the tea leaves' original medicinal efficacy, nor could they extract the unique special ingredients found in Lin Wanning's medicinal formula.
In just a few short months, the Black Stone Group fully realized they had been deceived and immediately joined forces with five other old-line consortiums to lobby and pressure the United States government layer by layer.
Unable to withstand the pressure from the capital, the M Country government finally issued the mission to retaliate against and destroy the He Family Enterprise to the Overseas Special Operations Group under the CIA.
In order to complete the mission as quickly as possible, the Overseas Special Operations Group secretly colluded with the Taiwan Spy Agency. Both sides, each harboring their own ulterior motives, hit it off immediately and successively plotted a series of vicious and devious schemes against the He Family Enterprise.
Under He Yuzhu's relentless interrogation, Mike Feng finally cracked and confessed the secret hideouts where this group of Taiwan spies was lurking in the Mainland.
On the surface, these people were an electronics assembly factory, using the cover of a legitimate business, while secretly harboring a large group of spies and thugs, committing all sorts of unspeakable crimes.
What made He Yuzhu's heart sink even further was that the attacks against all the industries under his name were not limited to just Cui Dan's action group.
The other side had also arranged two other teams in Pudong and Shencheng to carry out retaliatory actions simultaneously.
The three groups acted separately, intending to force He Yuzhu to be spread too thin and run ragged, so he would never be able to catch their main force, all while aiming to uproot every single industry of the He Family.
After figuring out the entire plan, He Yuzhu no longer had the heart to linger here.
Since no subordinates had reported attacks in the two locations yet, it only meant the other two groups of killers were temporarily blocked; he had to rush to Pudong and Shencheng immediately to stabilize the situation.
A stifled rage surged to his head; for a dignified major power to act so basely and viciously.
Since the other side didn't play by the rules, there was no need for him to show mercy.
He Yuzhu slowly stood up, bone-chilling coldness surging in his eyes, staring fixedly at Mike, who was slumped on the ground.
Meeting his icy gaze, Mike was instantly terrified out of his wits; the arrogance he had used to stiffen his neck just moments ago vanished completely, and he scrambled to beg for mercy: "I have money! Don't kill me! Please, spare my life!"
At this moment, Mike was a completely different person from the defiant, stubborn man he had been just before.
He Yuzhu couldn't be bothered to listen to another word of his nonsense.
He leaned down, one hand gripping the back of Mike Feng's neck tightly, the other firmly supporting the man's chin, and with a sudden burst of strength from his wrist, he gave a sharp twist.
"Crack—"
A crisp sound of bone breaking exploded; Mike's neck tilted to the side at an eerie angle, his eyes wide open, and he was completely devoid of life.
He Yuzhu's movements were clean and efficient, without a shred of hesitation; he followed suit and snapped the necks of the remaining four people in succession, the entire process smooth and fluid, without a hint of drag.
Wang Jianchen, off to the side, was so terrified he huddled in the corner, watching helplessly as five lives vanished before his eyes in an instant; his body trembled uncontrollably, suppressed sobs squeezed from his throat, and tears splashed onto the floor.
He knew in his heart that he couldn't possibly survive either.
He Yuzhu walked slowly to his front, took a bottle of medicine from his Personal Space, and said indifferently: "In your next life, be a decent, honest person."
Wang Jianchen reached out with trembling hands, his fingertips shaking so much he could barely hold the medicine bottle; he looked at He Yuzhu through tear-blurred eyes, his lips moving incessantly, but in the end, he couldn't squeeze out a single word.
He lowered his head, unscrewed the cap, tilted his head back, and drank the liquid in the bottle in one gulp, his Adam's apple bobbing heavily several times.
A moment later, he slowly closed his eyes and slumped softly to the ground, a look of relief appearing on his face instead.
He Yuzhu raised his hand to collect all the corpses into his Personal Space, took out his phone, and dialed a number: "Xiao E, keep a close eye on the construction site in Shencheng; there are foreign spies deliberately sabotaging it, and the targets are all industries related to me."
After finishing the cleanup work here, He Yuzhu didn't want to delay for even a second; he drove straight to the airport and caught the fastest flight to Pudong that day.
As the plane took off, clouds surged outside the porthole, and his mind never stopped thinking for a moment—where would the enemy choose to strike next?
Currently, in the Pudong area, Lou Xiaoe, Qin Tianzhen, and Hu Bayi were working together to build an unprecedentedly large urban complex project, which was undoubtedly the most conspicuous target.
Besides that, the He Family also had several apartment projects under construction simultaneously.
According to common logic, the complex project was bound to be the enemy's primary target, but this group of desperadoes might very well choose to strike at multiple points and create chaos everywhere.
A flash of inspiration suddenly struck He Yuzhu: since he had already found out that the Fuxing Electronics Factory was the lair of the Taiwan spies, instead of passively waiting for them to come and sneak attack, he might as well take the initiative, directly wipe out this headquarters, and cut off all their retreat routes.
After landing in Pudong, He Yuzhu rushed to the Fuxing Electronics Factory without stopping.
Upon arriving and seeing the site, the factory area was vast, with tight security and surveillance cameras densely covering every corner, leaving almost no blind spots. He had originally planned to use two tons of gold to dig a tunnel to sneak in, but his gold reserves had been depleted too heavily recently, and the inventory was almost bottoming out; he couldn't afford to squander it so recklessly anymore.
He patrolled the perimeter of the factory a few times and discovered that every day, large groups of workers arrived at the factory by bus, wearing a chaotic mix of clothing.
He Yuzhu found a small street-side restaurant nearby to eat, and through casual conversation, he asked the Boss for the inside story, finally figuring out the reason: whenever this factory hit its peak production season, it would be severely short of people, and it would recruit temporary workers from the labor market year-round; workers could work for a few days, a week, or a month—as long as they were experienced, they could start screwing in bolts on the assembly line immediately.
A plan formed in his mind, and He Yuzhu immediately turned around and headed to the local labor market.
He specifically changed his outfit, a simple tank top hugging his firm, well-proportioned muscles, making him look like a robust young man in his early thirties, standing out particularly sharply in the crowd.
He Yuzhu waited in the labor market for a full two hours; the sun gradually sank into the gaps between the buildings, and only a streak of dark red afterglow remained on the horizon. Just when he thought he would return empty-handed today, a dilapidated bus with peeling paint, looking like it had just been dragged out of a scrapyard, wobbled into the market.
The door opened, and a young man in his early twenties jumped off, his baseball cap pulled very low, an unlit cigarette dangling from his mouth, and he shouted at the crowd at the top of his lungs: "Fuxing Electronics Factory is hiring! Only taking experienced hands for bolt assembly! Don't come over if you're a novice! Twenty-five yuan a day, get on the bus if you're willing to work!"
He Yuzhu didn't say a word, took a stride to the front of the line, stretched out his arm, and shouted in response: "I can do it! I'm an old hand, I'm best at bolt assembly!"
The young recruiter looked him up and down, his gaze lingering for a few seconds on his bulging, solid biceps, his tone full of suspicion: "With those rock-hard muscles of yours, you could make more than twenty-five a day just carrying bricks at a construction site, and you're running over here to screw in bolts at a factory? Are you pulling my leg?"
He Yuzhu scratched the back of his head, deliberately putting on a simple and down-and-out look, and his accent was also intentionally adjusted toward an out-of-towner's tone: "Don't mention it, I partnered with someone to do business in the first half of the year and lost everything. Now I can't even pay the rent; as long as the factory provides housing, I'm willing to work for any amount."
Hearing that his accent was indeed not local, and seeing his desperate look to make a living, the recruiter finally nodded: "Fine, get on the bus."
