Chapter 984: We Are Back
He Yuzhu changed into a major's uniform of the M Country army and applied a white man's Human Skin Mask to his face.
Once the mask was on, the reflection in the mirror was unmistakably a blond-haired, blue-eyed Western officer; paired with his increasingly authentic American English, standing in the airport, he was no different from the local Garrison.
Although no one stopped him, the security at Clark Air Base was indeed strict, with checkpoint after checkpoint, and patrols carrying guns weaving back and forth, their eyes scanning everywhere like searchlights.
He Yuzhu knew clearly in his heart that while it was easy for him to sneak in alone, it would not be so simple to bring Captain Sun and Deputy Captain Li into the C130 Transport Aircraft cockpit.
Just as he was pondering, he suddenly caught sight of a long line of military trucks filing in from outside the airport, fully loaded with supplies, heading toward the four C130 Transport Aircraft on the tarmac.
He Yuzhu's eyes rolled, and he quickly left the airport to find Captain Sun and ask a few questions in a low voice, only then realizing—even if he forcibly stuffed the two of them into the cockpit, they would still be questioned by the control tower during takeoff, and M Military Radar would be watching them at any time during the flight; there was simply no way to escape.
He made a prompt decision and changed his plan.
Rather than forcibly seizing the plane, it would be better to hide the delegation members in equipment crates, transfer them to another M Military base, and then look for an opportunity to escape.
In this way, he could instead completely jump out of the enemy's encirclement.
No sooner said than done. He Yuzhu spotted a gap in the last truck, bypassed it in a few steps, and while the driver wasn't paying attention, he pulled the person into his space, sat in the driver's seat himself, and smoothly took over the driver's position.
He drove this truck around a bend and turned directly into the woods.
When he told Director Li about this new plan, Director Li immediately made the call: "Fine, let's do it that way!"
The group said nothing and, one by one, climbed into the large wooden crates to hide.
He Yuzhu released the Philippines driver from his space, grabbed him by the collar for an interrogation, and in no time at all, he had squeezed out every detail of the entire transport process.
After asking, he wiped his face, transformed directly into the appearance of that Filipino monkey, and drove the truck toward the third C130 Transport Aircraft.
The other drivers had long since finished unloading and left; he was the only one lagging behind, and those M Country soldiers were furious, surrounding him and unleashing a torrent of abuse.
He Yuzhu was not annoyed; he smiled and pulled a few packs of cigarettes from his pocket, handing them out one by one.
Once the cigarettes were distributed, the cursing stopped; the soldiers puffed on their cigarettes and waved him off, considering the matter settled.
He Yuzhu drove the empty truck out of the airport and, not long after, found a secluded spot to park the vehicle.
He Yuzhu closed his eyes, gritted his teeth, and secretly activated the Time-Space Shuttle function.
In the blink of an eye, he had reappeared inside the cabin of that C130 Transport Aircraft.
The cabin was piled full of cargo crates, packed to the brim.
He Yuzhu sat outside the crates, looking at those containing the delegation members, and a surge of indescribable irritation suddenly rose in his heart—he clearly possessed heaven-defying abilities, yet he had to hide his tracks and go through all this trouble.
He paced back and forth in the cabin, and a thought popped into his mind: blow up this plane.
After making up his mind, he gathered all the crates in the plane into his space, took out several Timed Bombs, and skillfully placed them at key positions in the cabin—next to the fuel tank, under the cockpit, and at the wing joints; every point was enough to blow this behemoth to pieces.
After finishing all this, He Yuzhu moved his mind, and his entire person vanished instantly; when he opened his eyes again, he had landed steadily in a corner of the Ryukyu Air Force Base.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Big Ocean, the atmosphere in the conference room was gloomy.
William was truly thoroughly enraged this time—he had calculated everything and set up layers of defense, yet in the end, he had still lost the people.
That wasn't all; he had lost a C130 Transport Aircraft for no reason.
In the conference room, a Staff Officer frowned and spoke: "All signs indicate that this group didn't go through the Bashi Channel at all, but turned toward Luzon. They even destroyed one of our C130s... but what is their goal exactly? And where are they hiding now?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the entire conference room fell into a deathly silence.
At least before, they could follow clues to find a trace, but now, they couldn't even find a shadow; over forty people had vanished from the face of the earth as if into thin air.
And at this very moment, He Yuzhu and his group were sitting safely on a merchant ship sailing from Ryukyu to Fuzhou.
The sea breeze was blowing gently, waves were rolling outside the ship's rail, the sky was bright blue, and everything was calm and peaceful.
Director Li leaned against the cabin, pondered for a long time, and finally couldn't help but lean over to He Yuzhu and ask in a low voice: "Factory Director He, let me ask you a real question—although this ship belongs to our country, do the people operating the ship... know we are in the cargo hold?"
He Yuzhu shook his head: "They don't know. This cargo ship happened to be leaving port, so I took the opportunity to bring you all on board, without anyone noticing."
Deputy Director Shi also chimed in, his face full of confusion: "How come I feel like I didn't stay in the crate for very long? I opened my eyes and we were already on this ship."
He Yuzhu smiled and answered casually: "That was my carelessness. The holes in the crate weren't big enough; I guess it was stuffy inside, and you all must have fainted from lack of oxygen."
Deputy Director Long, sitting to the side, glanced at him with a look that was not quite a smile and added slowly: "Actually, it's good that it felt short. If we had really had to endure several hours in those crates, that would have been true suffering."
He Yuzhu could tell there was a hidden meaning in those words. He had likely guessed that he had some methods unknown to outsiders, but just hadn't pointed it out.
He Yuzhu didn't take the bait; he just looked up at the sea surface outside the window and changed the subject: "Regardless, we have finally escaped. We are still over a hundred nautical miles from Fuzhou, completely out of the enemy's encirclement."
But just when everyone felt that the mission was accomplished and victory was in sight, a dull roar suddenly came from afar, approaching from the distance and growing louder and louder.
He Yuzhu's whole body jolted, and he looked up sharply.
Director Li's face turned pale, and he hurriedly leaned over and asked in a hushed voice: "Factory Director He, could it be that our business has been exposed?"
He Yuzhu squinted and thought for a moment, feeling that he hadn't left any flaws for the enemy this time.
He shook his head slowly: "This time, the 'golden cicada shedding its shell' trick was done cleanly; even if Zhuge Liang were alive, he wouldn't have calculated that we would be on this cargo ship. I think they are just taking a shot in the dark, wanting to intimidate us on the high seas before we enter our own coastline."
Before he finished speaking, a more violent engine roar came from the horizon—this time coming from the direction of their own country.
A large formation of Fighter Jets painted with the August First red star emblem whistled in, entangling with that group of M Country Fighter Jets; white smoke trails were instantly drawn in the sky, and they fought back and forth, locked in a fierce battle.
He Yuzhu watched this scene, the corners of his mouth curling up involuntarily, and he turned to smile at Director Li: "See that? Our planes are here. They are just venting their anger; they have no idea where we are!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a deafening round of applause and cheers erupted in the cabin; everyone's eyes were red and their voices hoarse, but they couldn't stop smiling, shouting in unison—
"We are free!"
"We are back!"
