Chapter 447: Two Years Later 3.0

At noon, Zhang Ping'an's family prepared two large tables of food, and those among Weidong and the others who weren't busy also returned.

"Good lad, you've got guts," Zhang Weijun said with a laugh, pulling Qi Tongwei into a one-armed hug.

"Little sister Chen Yang, if Tongwei bullies you in the future, just tell your big sister, and I'll help you deal with him."

Zhang Wanqiu and the others felt quite sympathetic toward the educational atmosphere of Chen Yang's family, while also admiring Chen Yang's decisiveness.

"Mm."

Qi Tongwei had nothing to do during the summer break, so he simply stayed in Sijiucheng to keep Chen Yang company; in the end, he bought Chen Yang a mobile phone to make it easier to stay in touch, and he himself bought a small car.

Then, the two of them played wildly around Sijiucheng and the surrounding cities for the rest of the summer, which could be considered their honeymoon after marriage in later times.

"Yangyang, I'm heading back tomorrow. You work hard here, and find some time to get your driver's license."

"Mm, okay."

Qi Tongwei didn't drive the car back, but left it in Sijiucheng, and flew back to Jingzhou himself.

Without Chen Yang's company, Qi Tongwei really felt a bit unaccustomed to life at school.

"What's wrong, Tongwei? Thinking about Chen Yang?"

The relationship between Qi Tongwei and Chen Yang was no secret to Gao Yuliang, though Gao Yuliang didn't yet know that the two of them had already secretly registered their marriage.

"Teacher Gao, I..."

"Don't think so much for now; wait until after graduation to talk about everything. I will speak to Chen Lao, Chen Yanshi, about it."

Gao Yuliang had already established a connection with Chen Yanshi; one was in charge of the legal and political departments, and the other was a law professor, so the two still had plenty of common language.

"Okay, thank you, Teacher Gao."

"No matter, this matter still requires Chen Lao to see things through himself; we can only provide support from the sidelines."

"Mm, I understand."

Gao Yuliang patted Qi Tongwei on the shoulder, then thought of the equally outstanding Hou Liangping, though it was a pity he was already half-ruined now.

Time flew like an arrow, and in the blink of an eye, two years had passed; it was the day of Qi Tongwei's graduate school graduation, and also the time for Hou Liangping and Chen Hai to graduate.

Last year, on the sports field in Handong, Hou Liangping had staged a shocking kneeling, completely satisfying Liang Lu's vanity.

"Liangping, you this..."

Hou Liangping's maneuver shocked his good brother Chen Hai directly; he truly couldn't believe that Hou Liangping would like a Teacher Liang who was more than a decade older than him, even if she still possessed a certain charm.

Liang Lu had once been at the level of a school beauty, but as she aged, she had transformed from a young girl into a young matron, though some people just happened to have a taste for that.

"Chen Hai, this is also where my heart lies; Teacher Liang and I have actually been seeing each other for a while."

"..."

The job Hou Liangping was assigned to after graduation was the same as Chen Hai's: both were entering the Jingzhou Procuratorate to work.

Hou Liangping's parents had also both advanced a step, and could be considered Intermediate Worker Cadres in Yantai City.

And Liang Lu finally waited for her chance to take revenge on Qi Tongwei; Qi Tongwei's assigned unit was shockingly some rural Judicial Office.

Looking at this result, Gao Yuliang's face turned livid, yet he was helpless; such an outstanding student was assigned to a rural backwater.

"Teacher Gao, please rest assured, my file will be transferred away very soon, and I won't be going to that rural Judicial Office; my godfather has already arranged everything for me."

"That's good."

Thinking of this, Gao Yuliang was even looking forward to Liang Lu's reaction; he didn't know if she would go straight crazy or be scared silly.

Chen Hai also saw Qi Tongwei's assigned unit and couldn't quite believe it.

"Liangping, look at Senior Qi's unit..."

"Mm, it's indeed quite a pity."

Hou Liangping wasn't surprised by this; he had long known that Qi Tongwei was going to suffer, but he hadn't expected Liang Lu to be so ruthless, sending a graduate student who was a level higher than them straight to a rural backwater.

Hou Liangping believed that if he had refused back then, his fate wouldn't have been any better than Qi Tongwei's.

Qi Tongwei didn't care about the strange looks from others and packed his things to fly straight to Sijiucheng.

Liang Lu had been waiting in the office for Qi Tongwei to come and beg for mercy, but unfortunately, she didn't see Qi Tongwei come by even when it was time to get off work.

The next day, Qi Tongwei's file was transferred away by someone, and it was a document issued directly by the Ministry of Public Security.

At the same time, an investigation team from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection arrived, which gave Liang Qunfeng quite a scare.

"Xiaolu, didn't you say Qi Tongwei was just a rural bumpkin? How could a job assignment alarm comrades from the Ministry of Public Security?"

"I, I don't know either."

Liang Lu was also a bit panicked; even though her father was the provincial Political and Legal Affairs Committee Secretary, it was impossible to go head-to-head with the Ministry of Public Security and the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

"What are you panicking about?! I will have the Organization Department Minister of Handa University take the blame for this matter directly; tell me the situation regarding Qi Tongwei in detail."

"Oh, oh, okay."

Liang Lu told Liang Qunfeng about Qi Tongwei's file and information, but Liang Qunfeng couldn't hear any key information in it; he was just a very ordinary farm boy.

"By the way, Dad, Qi Tongwei also has a godfather who is a foreign businessman; our Oriental Supermarket in Jingzhou is his property."

When Liang Lu saw Zhang Ping'an's license plate number a few years ago, she had someone check it, but he was just a businessman from Xiangjiang, so she hadn't paid it any mind.

"Oriental Supermarket?"

Liang Qunfeng found the name familiar; although he didn't manage the economic sector, he would still discuss relevant policies at meetings.

"Oriental Group?"

Liang Qunfeng was stunned; wasn't this the investment target that Jingzhou Secretary Zhao Lichun had been desperately trying to win over in recent years?

In present-day Jingzhou, there were Oriental Supermarket, Oriental Residential Complex, Oriental Logistics, Oriental Industrial Park, Oriental Hope Primary School, and so on.

In Handong, it wasn't just Jingzhou; Luzhou, Lincheng, and Yantai all had subsidiaries of the Oriental Group.

"That's not right either; he's just a businessman, where would he get such great power?" Liang Qunfeng was somewhat puzzled.

"This matter ends here; you just act like you don't know anything," Liang Qunfeng said sternly.

"Oh, okay."

Chen Yanshi had originally heard about Qi Tongwei's assigned unit from Chen Hai, but his understanding was overturned this morning.

"Since when did this Qi Tongwei have such connections in Sijiucheng?"

"Old Chen, should we still concern ourselves with the matter between him and Yangyang?"

Chen Yanshi frowned; over the past two years, he had introduced the children of his fellow veterans to Chen Yang, but unfortunately, Chen Yang was completely unreceptive, making things very awkward for both sides.

"Let's talk about it later."

Unclear about Qi Tongwei's background, and coupled with Chen Yang's desperate opposition, Chen Yanshi no longer had his initial resolve.

In the end, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection investigation team also terminated their investigation at the Organization Department Minister of Handa University; after all, such things existed everywhere, and it was impossible to investigate a vice-ministerial level Political and Legal Affairs Committee Secretary over such a minor matter.

"Comrade Yuliang, there is a vacancy for the position of Organization Department Minister at your Handa University; what are your thoughts on this?"

At this time, Chen Yanshi was already the Executive Deputy Procurator-General of the Handong Provincial People's Procuratorate.

"Ahem, Chen Lao, I will listen to the organization's arrangements." Gao Yuliang was also quite tempted; this might not be a bad start.

"Good, then I will propose you; you must prepare for the interview."

"Very well, Chen Lao."

At the Ministry of Public Security in Sijiucheng, Qi Tongwei was somewhat nervous; he truly did not know that his godfather Zhang Ping'an had such great influence.

"Comrade Tongwei, there is no need to be nervous; you are a graduate student, and your performance during your time at school was excellent; you are exactly the talent we need."

"As a subordinate director of Office Number Seven, you will be mainly responsible for the organization and issuance of relevant legal documents, with the treatment of a section-level official."

"Yes, I will obey all arrangements made by the leadership."
