Chapter 10: Yan Butgui's Embarrassing Incident

~8 min read 1,450 words

Li Qiang's seemingly unintentional gesture not only won He Yuzhu's heart, but also made Captain Hu and the others look at him in a new light. Willing to speak up for a youngster, how could such a person be lacking?

After sitting down, Liu Haizhong repeatedly toasted Li Qiang, and Li Qiang gave him plenty of face, refusing none who came.

Yan Butgui was also restless at home.

"You've got a nail stuck in your butt," Third Aunt said angrily.

"What do you know? Li Qiang is now the Section Chief of the Security Section, and I'm not trying to get on his good side?" Yan Butgui glanced at Third Aunt and said.

"He's the Section Chief of the Security Section at the Steel Plant, not your school's Security Section Chief—why would you need to do that?" Third Aunt said, puzzled.

"Long hair, short sight—get on his good side, and later, if they want to work at the Steel Plant, it'll be much easier," Yan Butgui said.

"What you say is indeed true; after all, he's the Section Chief of the Security Section—arranging for one or two people to enter the plant isn't a big problem." Third Aunt also realized this.

"Go, get that bottle of wine," Yan Butgui said.

"Where would there be a whole bottle? There's only half left," Third Aunt said displeased.

"You wouldn't really pour half a bottle of water into it, would you?" Yan Butgui said angrily.

"Can it still be drunk?"

"What's undrinkable about it? As long as it has a bit of wine flavor, that's fine. Besides, when they invite the Repair Team to eat, there's definitely no shortage of wine. I'm taking it just for show, not to drink. You tell me—is it better to go empty-handed for show or to bring something for show?" Yan Butgui said angrily. Third Aunt, married to him for so many years, has learned none of his shrewdness.

"All right, I understand," Third Aunt replied, picking up the bottle and started pouring water into it.

"Hey, everyone's drinking, and Old Liu is here too," Yan Butgui walked in holding the bottle.

"Third Uncle, come on, have a seat," Li Qiang greeted Yan Butgui. The table wasn't big to begin with, and with two more people it became packed tight.

Yan Butgui wasn't polite either, sitting down directly. He looked at the big meat slices or the potato stewed chicken chunks on the table—although there were only two dishes, they were both meat dishes, and the meat portions were generous.

Actually, Yan Butgui came over firstly to get on good terms with Li Qiang. Another reason was to mooch some food—Li Qiang brings home so much meat every day that, as the doorman, Yan Butgui has long been eyeing it, but he never dared to show up. Today he took the opportunity to stop by for a bite.

"Come on, Third Uncle, let's have a drink," Li Qiang said, holding up his cup.

From the moment he sat down, Yan Butgui's chopsticks never stopped, while everyone else was drinking and chatting; his chopsticks moved so fast they seemed to throw sparks, and he kept picking out the fatty meat to eat.

"No need to be polite, I'll do it myself," Yan Butgui said, mouth full of meat, speaking indistinctly.

"Old Yan, this liquor is high proof; I'm afraid you can't handle it. I know your family's liquor is low proof, so you drink the liquor you brought, and we'll drink the others." After saying that, Liu Haizhong directly filled Yan Butgui's brought liquor to the brim. Liu Haizhong also looked down on Yan Butgui in his heart, always scheming all day. Moreover, the moment Yan Butgui set down his liquor, Liu Haizhong noticed something odd; combining Yan Butgui's character, Liu Haizhong felt his liquor must be problematic, which led to what just happened.

"No problem, I often drink low-proof liquor; occasionally drinking high-proof is fine." How could Yan Butgui possibly give up drinking pure liquor to drink the watered-down liquor he himself poured?

"Better forget it; I'm afraid if you drink too much, after eating all this meat tonight you might vomit—what a waste." Liu Haizhong didn't give Yan Butgui any face at all.

"All right, you drink yours, then I'll drink the low-proof liquor I brought." Yan Butgui didn't bother with all that; the most important thing right now was to focus on eating.

The group ate until very late before finishing, all because the general meeting of the whole compound delayed them, and adding the time spent drinking and chatting naturally made it longer.

Because they had to work the next day, nobody drank too much.

"Why did you bring the liquor back?" Third Aunt looked at Yan Butgui returning with a half-bottle of liquor and asked curiously.

"Nobody else wanted it, so when leaving, Li Qiang told me to bring it back, saying they weren't used to low-proof liquor." Yan Butgui felt he had scored big tonight—his own liquor was only for himself to drink, and he still got to eat all that meat.

Actually, Li Qiang had long seen through the trick; combining what the original drama said about Yan Butgui liking to water down his liquor, he estimated that this bottle of Yan Butgui's liquor must also have been diluted with a lot of water, which is why he had him bring it back.

"All right, I have to go to a meeting; I've eaten too much and feel a bit stuffed." After saying that, Yan Butgui staggered to the bed, took off his shoes, and climbed straight onto it.

In the middle of the night, Yan Butgui felt his stomach rumbling uncomfortably; he didn't think about anything else—he had long avoided meat and fish, suddenly eating so much fatty meat and drinking liquor diluted with half cold water, how could his stomach possibly feel comfortable?

Yan Butgui felt a fart coming on; he didn't think much, just relaxed his rear, intending to let out a comfortable fart, but who knew that with the sound "pfft-pfft," what came out wasn't just gas.

At that moment, Third Aunt was also awakened by a foul stench.

"Old man, why did you poop on the bed?" Third Aunt said, pinching her nose.

"You think I wanted that? I just couldn't hold it in," Yan Butgui said with a bitter face.

"Then hurry up and get up to wash and change your clothes—look at this smell, can anyone still live in this room?" Third Aunt said disparagingly.

"Dad, I don't wet the bed anymore—why did you poop on the bed?" Yan Jiekuang, their son, also said with a look of disgust.

"You little brat, what are you talking about?" Yan Butgui's old face turned red from being scolded.

Third Aunt also got up, poured some water for Yan Butgui to wash with; Yan Butgui had just changed his clothes and hadn't yet gotten back into bed when his stomach rumbled again.

"No way, I have to go to the toilet," Yan Butgui said and ran out; the compound's gates were locked at night, and they used the public toilets outside the gate. Before Yan Butgui could even open the gate, a warm stream trickled down his pant leg.

"If I had known, I wouldn't have changed clothes," Yan Butgui said with a bitter face.

"You're back already so quickly?" Third Aunt asked as soon as Yan Butgui entered the room.

"I didn't even have time to open the gate," Yan Butgui said embarrassedly.

"You didn't poop in your pants again, did you?" Third Aunt asked.

"Mm-hmm."

"What can I say about you? Why did you even come back in, complaining the smell in this room isn't strong enough?" Third Aunt said angrily.

"But it's too cold outside," Yan Butgui said.

Thus, Third Aunt drove Yan Butgui out of the room, and he stood there foolishly outside for most of the night.

"Who is this? So indecent, not knowing to go to the toilet and just pooping at the gate"—in the morning, Jia Zhangshi got up to use the toilet, and as soon as she reached the gate she stepped in something Yan Butgui had left behind.

Yan Butgui was so ashamed he didn't dare say a word.

But Yan Jiekuang, being a child, couldn't keep it to himself; the next day while playing with friends he blurted out the incident of Yan Butgui pooping on the bed.

That instant, the whole compound knew: Yan Butgui went to Li Qiang's house to mooch a meal, drank too much, couldn't bear to vomit it out, so it came out from below and he even pooped on the bed.
