Chapter 241: Communicator Opens Across Time – The Transmigrators' Alliance Takes Shape

~7 min read 1,263 words

Zhao Jianguo stared at the communicator on the Main Control Console, his finger lingered on the activation button for a few seconds. The system had just completed anti‑quantum encryption deployment, and the interface still glowed with green operational ripples. He took a deep breath and opened the "Spacetime Anchor Index".

The screen flickered once, and a blue light rose from the center of the equipment.

Chen Jianguo's figure slowly materialized, his lab coat unchanged, the pen still in his hand. He glanced at Zhao Jianguo, nodded, "Your actions are pretty fast."

"Things can't wait," Zhao Jianguo said, "One person can't shoulder everything."

"So you want to recruit people?"

"It's not recruitment, it's building a bridge." Zhao Jianguo pulled up the system's low‑level route map, "The agreement you left can connect multiple temporal nodes. I want to see if we can bring other transmigrators in as well."

Chen Jianguo fell silent for a moment, then walked to the Control Console, his fingers sweeping over a few lines of code. "Signal frequency needs normalization, otherwise it will cross wires. I'll adjust the first gate for you."

The Data Stream began to roll, and the screen displayed a series of temporal coordinates: 1978, 1992, 2005… plus several gray points marked as unknown eras.

"Will they receive it?" Zhao Jianguo asked.

"As long as they use the same type of Signal Source, they can sense the summons." Chen Jianguo hit Enter, "The channel is open, you call them in yourself."

The first response came from the 1978 engineer. A projection appeared in the corner, wearing old‑fashioned work clothes, clutching a circuit sketch. He looked around, his voice trembling slightly, "Someone actually responded? I thought I'd never see this day in my life."

The second was a 1992‑looking businessman, his suit wrinkled and his shoes muddy. As soon as he appeared he said, "You tech guys finally remembered to go online? I was almost caught as a spy in the video hall over there."

Then came the 2005 youth, glasses on, hair a mess. He slapped the Desk excitedly, "I always thought I was the only one! Do you know how many technical documents I wrote that no one ever read?"

Zhao Jianguo scanned the room and saw another figure standing at the far edge. The person wore Qing‑dynasty official robes, holding a yellow silk memorial document, head lowered and silent.

"Who is this?" Zhao Jianguo asked.

The Qing transmigrator raised his head, dark circles under his eyes from long nights. "I am Minister Zhang Wei'an, a jinshi of the 45th year of Kangxi. Struck by lightning I passed into the Guangxu era, and have run a farm alone for thirty‑seven years." He finished, lifted the memorial with both hands and stepped forward, "Today I meet fellow practitioners; I wish to offer a blueprint of an improved plow from the Kang‑Qian period, hoping to aid livelihoods."

The conference room fell silent.

The 1992 businessman scratched his head, "Brother, your outfit… not cosplay?"

"No," Zhang Wei'an replied solemnly, "Every word I say is true. Over the years I have improved the tiller structure, using hydraulic power to drive a double‑iron plow, increasing yield by thirty percent. Unfortunately no one recognized its value, so it remains buried in the countryside."

Zhao Jianguo immediately summoned Jia Dongxu's team's assessment module, importing the blueprint into the system. Minutes later the result showed: design reasonable, materials feasible, suitable for small‑scale rollout.

"It's genuine," Zhao Jianguo looked up, "His stuff is usable."

The 2005 programmer stepped forward to view the data, exclaiming, "Heaven, isn't this ancient mechanized agriculture?"

Zhao Jianguo cleared his throat, waited for quiet, then said, "Each of us works in our own era. Some handle technology, some run enterprises, some farm. But we are all the same—fighting alone for too long."

He paused, "Now we have a chance to change. I don't want an organization ruled by one person; I want to build an alliance. No alteration of the main historical line, no big trouble, just three tasks: share non‑sensitive technology, provide mutual emergency support, protect the Civilization Fire Seed."

The 1978 engineer nodded, "I agree. When I was rebuilding the power plant back then I was almost burned as a monster; if there had been a place to ask for help…"

"I'll join too," the 1992 businessman said, "I trade in the south, I know which goods can circulate across eras. With information balanced, everyone can live a bit better."

The 2005 youth raised his hand, "I can code! I can also create a remote teaching platform to pass knowledge down!"

Only Zhang Wei'an did not state his position immediately. He looked at Zhao Jianguo, eyes serious, "You speak through machines, judge by data. Yet the human heart is unpredictable, the world complex. Do you truly understand what 'guarding' means?"

Zhao Jianguo gave no rebuttal. He opened the ten‑year record video of the Siheyuan: the elderly returning to work, children attending school, Xu Da Mao opening a small shop, fewer arguments in the courtyard, more laughter.

"Technology isn't cold," he said, "It can turn a lazy man into a self‑reliant person, let a despised old man straighten his back again. This isn't changing history, it's letting people live like humans."

Zhang Wei'an watched the video, then slowly knelt and struck his head heavily. "Finally meeting fellow practitioners, I will not waste this life."

Zhao Jianguo hurried forward to help him up, "Don't do that, we are equals."

The meeting continued. Someone voiced a concern, "Will frequent contact attract higher‑level attention? What if the Spacetime Management Bureau watches us?"

Zhao Jianguo was prepared: "From now on we'll hold a short meeting once a month, and use encrypted message packets for routine communication. Only in emergencies trigger a global network alert."

He added, "I propose a rotating chairperson system. I'll lead this time, the next will be elected by everyone. I don't want a single person holding the key."

The others all voiced agreement.

Chen Jianguo had stood silently beside them. Until the meeting was nearly over, he stepped out, "You found the path faster than I imagined."

"You are the guide," Zhao Jianguo said.

"But I only provided the tools," Chen Jianguo shook his head, "How to use them is up to you. Seeing you gather, I felt at ease."

His figure began to fade.

"Wait!" the 1978 engineer shouted, "Will we ever see you again?"

"Not certain," Chen Jianguo smiled, "But you won't need me. You yourselves are the answer."

The light points dissipated, leaving only a faint ripple in the air.

Zhao Jianguo turned back to the Main Control Console, the system automatically popped up a prompt: 【Transmigrants' Civilization Alliance Established, Zhao Jianguo appointed First Chairperson】

He didn't click confirm, instead opened the communication log and saved the entire meeting into an encrypted file. Then he created a new document named "Transmigrants' Alliance Charter Draft".

The 1978 engineer gave one last glance at the conference room, whispering, "So every era has its night watchman."

Projections vanished one after another.

The Laboratory was left with only Zhao Jianguo. He sat on the Chair, his fingers lightly brushing the communicator's surface. Outside, daylight had already brightened; sunlight fell on the Control Console, casting a thin elongated shadow.

He opened the system log and entered in the latest line: Today, we are no longer an isolated island.

He pressed Enter.

The Screen switched, a new notification popped up: 【Detected abnormal signal fluctuation, source timeline blurred】

Zhao Jianguo sat upright, his fingers moved to the operation key.

His fingertip touched the activation button.
