Chapter 549

Compared to his good neighbor Xu Damao, Cao Weiguo was more concerned about Section Chief Zhao.

His relationship with Section Chief Zhao was decent; if Section Chief Zhao were promoted or transferred to an important department,

he would have to present a generous gift to maintain their friendship.

Usually, these connections were useless, but you never knew when they might be a big help.

Yu Haitang said: "I heard he's being transferred to the Xidan Supply and Marketing Cooperative as the second-in-command."

"Oh, the Supply and Marketing Cooperative, that's a good unit!"

Hearing that Section Chief Zhao was being transferred to the Supply and Marketing Cooperative, Cao Weiguo's eyes lit up.

Aunt Sun could help buy some things at the Supply and Marketing Cooperative where she worked.

But Aunt Sun was just an ordinary employee; her influence couldn't compare to a second-in-command.

Yu Haitang said enviously: "That's for sure; the Xidan Supply and Marketing Cooperative is one of the top treasure troves in Jingcheng."

In an era of material scarcity, the Supply and Marketing Cooperative was the darling of the planned economy.

Daily necessities like firewood, rice, oil, salt, agricultural supplies, cloth, pots, pans, clothes, and shoes... were mostly supplied by the Supply and Marketing Cooperative.

The Supply and Marketing Cooperative carried the collective memory of the era; working there was a "face-saving" thing.

"Do not scold or beat customers" was posted on the walls of the Supply and Marketing Cooperative.

At the same time, the Supply and Marketing Cooperative was not a scattered small unit, but a central leadership institution for cooperatives nationwide.

The All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives was responsible for the unified leadership and management of supply, consumption, credit, transportation, fishing, and handicraft cooperatives nationwide.

The Xidan Supply and Marketing Cooperative was located in the center of the capital, and its administrative level was quite high.

Section Chief Zhao being transferred to the Xidan Supply and Marketing Cooperative as second-in-command was definitely a promotion.

"Director Cao, it's almost time to get off work; how about I treat you to a meal?"

Yu Haitang massaged him for a while, then looked at the wall clock and said.

"This!"

Cao Weiguo was planning to visit his master today.

Now hearing Yu Haitang's invitation, he couldn't help but feel a bit tempted.

But after thinking about it, he smiled and said: "Sorry, I have an appointment with a friend tonight; let's do it another day."

"Then it'll have to be another day."

Yu Haitang's pretty face couldn't hide her disappointment.

Yu Haitang was very regretful; the current Cao Weiguo was different from before.

Before, she looked down on Cao Weiguo for being a cook.

Now, she had to wait in line just to have a meal with Cao Weiguo.

Although her expression was disappointed, her fighting spirit remained.

"I don't believe that with my conditions, I can't win you over!"

"Just wait!"

"I will definitely make you fall at my feet!"

Actually, Cao Weiguo also wanted to eat with Yu Haitang.

Who wouldn't be tempted by a young and beautiful woman?

However, the situation was tense now, and he had to be careful about his influence.

Yi Zhonghai was an example and a warning!

The storm was coming!
