Chapter 735: Few Things in the Courtyard, Many Matters
Sihe Academy
When Cao Weiguo arrived home, Song Yulan had already finished dinner.
The couple chatted about the matters in the courtyard while eating.
Cao Weiguo had gone out early in the morning and didn't know how lively the day had been.
The Deaf Old Lady had fallen, and was sent to the hospital by Yi Zhonghai and the First Aunt.
Banggeng had fought with other children in the alley, and Jia Zhangshi had gone out to curse on the streets for half the day.
Chi Ping'an's brother-in-law came to borrow money and was kicked out by Chi Ping'an.
Sun Meiqin got angry, packed her clothes, and returned to her maiden home.
Song Yulan told the stories vividly, and Cao Weiguo listened with great interest.
Although this Sihe Academy was small, there were truly many matters.
Every household, oil, salt, sauce, and vinegar, each had its own joys and sorrows.
After dinner, Cao Weiguo listened to the radio leisurely.
Not long after, He Yushui came over again, carrying her knitting.
In this era, there were no televisions in homes, and most families didn't even have radios.
Visiting neighbors with whom one had a good relationship was a common occurrence.
"Brother Weiguo!"
"Please do me a favor."
He Yushui looked at Cao Weiguo while knitting her scarf.
"What favor?"
He Yushui: "Can you help me buy a few boxes of snow cream?"
After autumn, the weather was getting drier, and He Yushui wanted to use snow cream to protect her skin.
In the past, she had no money in her pocket, so naturally, she couldn't bear to buy snow cream.
Now, she had received living expenses and had a salary, so she was willing to spend money.
It was just that snow cream was too popular, and every time she went to the supply and marketing cooperative, they were out of stock.
Hearing this, Cao Weiguo immediately said readily:
"No problem, I'll bring some back for you when I go to the supply and marketing cooperative."
He Yushui said happily, "Thank you, Brother Weiguo." ===== CHAPTER 737 =====
