Chapter 98: The Intersection of Reality and Dreams

Zhang Jie realized instantly, not even wearing his dudou, he flung open the curtain and wanted to jump out the window to escape.

Although I don't know why these nightmares have appeared in the real world, nor why these guys are in my house, escaping is most important!

There were four nightmares in front of him: two humanoid, one avian, one lupine, all shrouded in black mist, with ink-like substances slowly flowing within.

"What the hell do you want?!"

The nightmares didn't speak; instead, the door to Zhang Jie's room made a sound.

"Little Jie, get up and eat..."

It was Zhang Jie's beautiful mother; her voice trailed off, not because of the four nightmares, but because Zhang Jie was stark naked.

Seeing Zhang Jie's bewildered face, his beautiful mother angrily put her hands on her hips and pointed at his still-twitching manhood as she scolded him.

"Even in your own room you should at least wear a dudou!"

"Even when you're grown, you ought to consider your parents! What kind of state are you in, swaying about like that?!"

"Hurry up and get dressed, then come out to eat!"

After saying that, the beautiful mother closed the door, leaving a bewildered Zhang Jie and the four nightmares staring toward the doorway.

"Can't Mom see them?"

"What the heck is going on?"

Seeing the four nightmares all staring at him again, Zhang Jie suddenly recalled that fantastical experience when he entered the dream.

"'Legendary Player', 'Nightmare Summoner', 'Only Legendary Talent'"

These words kept surfacing from deep in Zhang Jie's mind, calming him considerably.

Thus, Zhang Jie tentatively put on his dudou in front of them; seeing the four nightmares had no reaction, he finally relaxed a bit.

He thought while getting dressed.

"Why have these nightmares appeared here?"

"Why would things from the Dream Realm appear in reality?"

Zhang Jie quickly finished dressing and headed out of the room.

The beautiful mother and the blunt-spoken father were already waiting at the table, and the nightmares behind him followed close behind.

The table was laden with steaming dishes, the TV before it played news, and everything felt warm and harmonious.

"Son, you weren't dancing naked in the room just now, were you?"

The blunt-spoken father chuckled teasingly; Zhang Jie felt a little embarrassed, scratched his head, and sat in his own seat.

"No, I just got up and stretched on the bed."

The family ate happily together, while the four nightmares beside him loitered around; the two humanoid catastrophes curiously watched the TV, the two beast-type ones ran and flew about the house, but his parents seemed unable to see them—those watching TV kept watching, those eating kept eating.

"Mom, Dad... have you not seen anything strange?"

Zhang Jie held his chopsticks, uneasy, and probed his parents with a questioning look.

"Things? What things?"

Zhang Jie's father lifted his head, scanning the surroundings; unsure if it was his imagination, he felt his father had lingered a moment before the two humanoid nightmares by the TV.

"Little Jie, what are you saying?"

In a place Zhang Jie didn't notice, his beautiful mother subtly gave his father a look, then looked at Zhang Jie and asked concernedly.

"No, it's fine."

Zhang Jie shook his head, feeling helpless; his parents couldn't see them, and neither could he do anything about it.

These black-ish things hovering before him made Zhang Jie feel a great deal of pressure...

It seemed to sense Zhang Jie's thoughts; the four catastrophes' bodies suddenly melted into a mass of black mist that slowly sank to the ground, then flowed together onto his arm.

"Holy cow!"

Zhang Jie widened his eyes, about to react, but seeing his parents still there, he refrained from making any big move.

He only felt warmth on his arm, which also indicated that these nightmares were indeed harmless and somehow connected to him.

"Come on, eat, Little Jie; your northern friend downstairs is calling you."

"Liu Delie? Oh, oh, I get it."

Zhang Jie hastily shoveled rice into his mouth as the TV news sounded in his ears.
