Chapter 121: Ue Suga: What?! I

~7 min read 1,352 words

"You… you…"

Seeing Hiri's red hair and the face that bore at least fifty percent resemblance to his memories, Ue Suga's aged face twisted in disbelief, his lips trembling, unable to utter a single coherent sentence.

"Hm?"

Meanwhile, observing Ue Suga's strange reaction, Wu Xian raised an eyebrow slightly and began recalling the plotlines of novels he had read, suddenly considering a possibility.

In the later stages of "Long San," faced with the revival of the White King, this former Shadow Emperor, who had spent his entire life evading fate, ultimately intervened to protect his three children—and paid for it with his life.

Yet ironically, until the moment of his death, he had never laid eyes on any of those three children, let alone known their tragic fates after he was gone.

From the current situation, it seemed that at least in Hiri, this pitiful old father had seen a shadow he recognized all too well.

Considering that Hiri and her two siblings were test-tube babies, the identity of that shadow's origin was now obvious.

Charlotte Chen—the mother who died in the Nanjing Massacre—was, in fact, Ue Suga.

Realizing this, Wu Xian's smile gradually faded. He took Hiri's hand, who wore a look of curiosity, and walked up to Ue Suga, speaking with solemn seriousness:

"You've already realized it, haven't you? Yes, this girl is named Ue Hiri. She is the current head of the Ue family—and your daughter, whom you have longed for but never met."

"Ue… Hiri… daughter…"

Ue Suga repeated the name unconsciously, his gaze never leaving Hiri's face.

In an instant, countless emotions flashed across his eyes.

Grief, pain, longing, guilt, anger, regret…

Finally, Ue Suga closed his eyes, bracing both hands on his ramen cart, breathing deeply.

But when he opened them again, his gaze toward Wu Xian was utterly cold and indifferent. "A clever trick. Had I not been certain I never fathered any offspring, I might have been fooled."

"Tell me—who are you? A member of the Snake-Dragon Eight Families? And what is this girl's true story?"

As he spoke, a powerful aura rose from the old man.

Even clad in the white uniform of a ramen chef, he radiated the oppressive presence of an emperor; any ordinary person witnessing this would have collapsed on the spot, prostrating themselves in terror.

Unfortunately, the teenage boy and girl standing before him had nothing to do with the word "ordinary."

They ignored the overwhelming aura entirely. Wu Xian even felt a flicker of irritation, wondering whether he should use his mental force to make the old man bow to him.

Of course, he only thought about it—he was, after all, his future father-in-law. Some face had to be kept.

"Cough! Cough!"

Wu Xian raised a hand to his lips and cleared his throat. "First, let me clarify—I am not a member of the Snake-Dragon Eight Families. Or rather, it's more accurate to say the Snake-Dragon Eight Families are mine."

"Second, what makes you so certain you have no offspring? From what I know, you were a legendary stud in your youth—bedded at least three hundred women."

"And back then, no matter how careful you were, some pregnancies slipped through. One or two illegitimate children would be entirely reasonable."

On the other side, upon hearing the word "stud," Ue Suga's lips twitched slightly, as if recalling some terrible memory, then he scowled and pointed at Hiri.

"First, every woman I ever slept with was killed by me. Second… look at her. She's at most twenty. I've been celibate for over forty years—I haven't touched a single woman since."

"How, pray tell, could she possibly be my daughter? Hmph! Next time you lie, at least draft it first. Even saying she's my granddaughter would be more believable."

"Celibate? Heh. Is that so?"

Wu Xian sneered. "Yet I know certain people periodically visit the izakaya run by the Dog Mountain family's landlady and fool around with her—even forcing their own retired subordinates to cover their tab. You call that celibacy?"

"What the hell! Who the fuck are you?!"

Ue Suga's imperial aura shattered instantly. He stared at Wu Xian in disbelief, wondering how Aka had dared to blabber such secrets—didn't he fear Ue Suga coming to settle the score?

"So some people only pretend to be virtuous, yet can't even control their own desires—and still claim to want to sever the imperial bloodline? It's laughable."

Wu Xian rolled his eyes, tired of arguing with this old lecher, and pulled a stack of documents from the cart, slapping them onto the ramen cart's table.

"Enough nonsense. Look at these. Do you remember decades ago, when you provided a genetic sample to a German?"

"Hiri was created from that sample as a test-tube baby—that's why she was born nineteen years ago."

"Also, Hiri has two twin brothers: Genjiro and Genjiyo. They are your sons too…"

Ue Suga didn't hear the rest. He picked up the documents and carefully flipped through their contents.

After roughly five minutes, he slowly raised his head, gazing at Hiri—who seemed to be studying him in return—and froze, just as he had at the beginning.

"If you still don't believe me, you can go to the hospital for a paternity test… I know you have ways to ensure the results aren't tampered with. Then you'll see whether I lied or not."

Saying this, he turned to Hiri and spoke gently:

"Hiri, this man is your biological father. Do you remember what I told you before?"

Hiri nodded obediently, looking at the elderly man who felt strangely familiar to her, and stammered: "O…tousan."

"!!!!!!"

At the sound of "Otosan," Ue Suga's entire body jolted violently—as if electrified—once, twice, three times!

It took over ten seconds for him to recover from the shock. His gaze toward Hiri softened, his brow filled with joy.

"Hiri… my daughter…"

He murmured to himself, an expression as radiant as a blooming chrysanthemum spreading across his aged face.

"Looks like you believe me now. Good."

Wu Xian held Hiri's small hand and smiled warmly:

"After all, when we get married, I hope Hiri will have the blessing of her biological father."

"Don't worry, I'll make sure to—wait! What did you just say?!"

Ue Suga's smile froze instantly. His voice rose sharply, even cracking slightly.

"Marriage? What do you mean by marriage?! Who are you planning to marry?!"

He spat out those words through gritted teeth.

Simultaneously, Ue Suga's eyes blazed with murderous fury as he locked onto Wu Xian's smug grin.

For some reason, he hadn't noticed before—but now, the more he looked at that face, the more it irritated him.

Greasy hair, slick tongue, oily demeanor… every inch of him screamed "womanizing scoundrel."

His precious daughter could never marry such a man. Absolutely not!

Ue Suga glared at Wu Xian, his eyes screaming the words.

"Of course, Hiri!"

Wu Xian met his gaze without flinching, speaking with unshakable conviction: "Love without marriage is just seduction. Hiri and I have only known each other for less than three days—but we've already shared a love hotel. I have to take responsibility. Otherwise, what's the difference between me and a scumbag?"

"L…Love hotel?!"

Ue Suga's voice cracked. His eyes instinctively turned to Hiri, who turned to Wu Xian and nodded with a smile: "Mm… Godzilla, I love him!"

BOOM—!!!

As if a thunderbolt had split the sky above him, Ue Suga's vision went black. He clutched his chest and staggered backward, his heart pounding at an impossible speed.

There was no doubt—he felt his heart's pulse tearing apart.

What the hell? His newly found daughter had already been claimed by some wild boar? Was he really going to be a grandfather next year?!

Suddenly, life felt meaningless…

He had just learned he had children—three of them.

One of them, a lovely daughter who resembled her mother.

Two joyful revelations—double the happiness.

Now he was told his daughter was about to marry the moment she met him.

Double happiness instantly became double agony!

But why?! WHY?! WHY?!
