Chapter 14: The Main God Is Way Too Spoiling! (Please Follow! Please Collect!)
Golden light streamed through the gaps in the curtains, falling on his face; feeling that warm touch, Zheng Zha opened his bleary eyes and stared at the unfamiliar ceiling, lost in deep confusion.
After a long while, his mind began to stir, and scenes from yesterday flashed rapidly through his memory.
The options on the computer screen—horror Lunhui , Biohazard, Lickers—felt like a dream, so unreal.
Even now, Zheng Zha still doubted whether he had merely endured an absurd nightmare, and that when he woke, he would return to being that lifeless shell, numbly surviving in decay and ruin.
“Bang bang bang—”
A knock at the door shattered his thoughts; he jolted upright on the bed, realizing the surroundings weren’t entirely alien—as if he’d seen them somewhere before.
He remembered: this was the layout of his childhood bedroom, the place filled with countless beautiful memories of her; when he’d imagined the room earlier, his mind had unconsciously conjured this exact scene.
“Luo Li…”
Zheng Zha murmured the name that haunted his soul, but the knocking came again, irritating him; remembering his current situation, he suppressed his inexplicable anger and stepped out of the room.
“You really know how to sleep—since yesterday, you’ve been asleep for nearly twelve hours!”
Zhan Lan, seeing Zheng Zha clearly just woken, lightly teased him, then pointed toward the platform hall and smiled: “Come on, let’s get breakfast—everyone’s waiting for you.”
Zheng Zha followed Zhan Lan’s gesture and indeed saw the figures of Wu Xian, Li Xiaoyi, and Mu Gang.
Moreover, the platform hall looked utterly different from yesterday—not bare and white with no decoration, but now furnished with sofas, coffee tables, dining tables, and more.
Especially the massive screen, nearly the size of a home theater, dominated his entire field of vision; what played on it was unmistakably a clip from Biohazard.
Watching the scene where Ma Xiu was sliced apart by the laser grid, Zheng Zha’s expression grew distant; only when he snapped back to reality did he realize he had already walked to a round dining table.
Li Xiaoyi and Mu Gang looked over and politely greeted him; Wu Xian gave a slight nod and said coolly: “Stop standing there like an idiot—eat first, then we’ll talk business.”
“Ah… oh oh!”
Hearing this, Zheng Zha immediately responded, pulled out an empty chair, and stared at the plates piled on the table; once he saw what was on them, his expression twisted in dismay.
The breakfast was lavish—over a dozen plates—but aside from milk, soy milk, fried dough sticks, and buns, most were egg-based.
Poached eggs, boiled eggs, tea eggs, egg fried rice, egg rice, egg pancakes, egg custard, egg salad, egg tarts… it was practically a manifesto of “Eighteen Ways to Murder an Egg”; even Zheng Zha, who prided himself on being worldly, had never seen such an inventive breakfast spread.
“Cough cough!”
Zhan Lan coughed twice, her face flushed with embarrassment: “Sorry, I’m not much of a cook—just make do for now; I’ll study proper recipes later.”
“So why not just exchange for a full meal with the Main God instead of cooking all this yourself?”
Wu Xian was also speechless; though the eggs tasted decent, eating this many eggs in one meal—what if his cholesterol spikes later?
Wait—you say the Main God can cure that? Then never mind!
“It’s different—this is our Zhongzhou squad’s first group meal; we should make it a bit formal.”
Zhan Lan smiled and peeled a tea egg, placing it gently before Wu Xian.
“I haven’t formally congratulated you on becoming team leader, and thank you for your help yesterday—if not for you, we’d all be dead dozens of times over. Here’s a small tea egg, hope you like it, Leader.”
Hearing this, Li Xiaoyi and Mu Gang immediately followed suit; even Zheng Zha ladled himself a bowl of egg fried rice, silently conveying: “The words are all in the eggs—let’s just eat!”
Wu Xian rolled his eyes, took the tea egg, bit into it, and mumbled: “Fine, I feel your sincerity—but don’t keep calling me ‘Leader,’ it’s awkward. Just call me Wu Xian or Xiao Wu. We’re all partners now—no need to be so formal.”
“Understood, Leader… Wu Xian. You’re right—from today on, we’re comrades!”
For some reason, hearing the word “comrades,” Zheng Zha’s numb heart stirred slightly, and a bright, cheerful smile appeared on his face.
“Alright, eat up. Once you’re full, I’ll teach you how to exchange for things in the Main God’s space—and other things you must know and watch out for.”
Everyone’s expressions instantly turned serious; they turned to their egg-filled banquet, glancing occasionally at the zombies on the TV screen—as if using them as condiments.
About twenty minutes later, every egg on the table had been devoured, the plates cleaner than a dog’s lick.
Clearly, despite all the complaints, when it comes to flavor, you still eat like a beast.
After all, these were eggs and seasonings from the Main God’s space—unless you were truly terrible at cooking, you could make meals rivaling five-star hotels.
Mu Gang volunteered to wash the dishes, but Wu Xian stopped him; with a snap of his fingers, the once messy table instantly became spotless—a magical sight that left everyone wide-eyed.
“Don’t envy it. As I said before in Biohazard—in this place, you can have anything. Exchange for anything you want, including services… provided you have enough reward points.”
Wu Xian looked at them, his tone slightly more serious: “Now, tell me what you gained in your previous horror film. Don’t hide anything—I need to know so I can guide you on how to use your reward points effectively.”
“I only have the base one thousand points—nothing else.”
Though female, Zhan Lan’s personality was unexpectedly assertive—she always spoke first.
“Me too.”
“I only have the base one thousand reward points.”
Li Xiaoyi and Mu Gang also chimed in: “Me too!”; as soon as they finished, all four—including Wu Xian—turned to the last person, curiosity on their faces.
Zheng Zha scratched his cheek sheepishly and whispered: “Besides the base thousand points, I got two thousand more reward points and a C-rank plot during the laser corridor.”
Damn! I already stole the main reward, yet you still get bonus points here? Main God, you’re spoiling him too much!
Wu Xian’s lip twitched, but remembering Zheng Zha’s identity as a reincarnation of the Pangu Inner Universe fragment, he relaxed slightly, then smiled: “Good. As a newcomer, earning this much in your first horror film is excellent—better than what I got. You’ve got a bright future.”
