Chapter 308: The Temptation of Homecoming (Requesting Monthly Votes

~7 min read 1,336 words

“Have they found me?”

Ten thousand li from the Mountain of Eternal Youth, Wu Xian was using Earth Submersion and Earth-Shrinking Technique to sprint at full speed.

Suddenly, he sensed something, his gaze sharpening slightly, and white light shimmered across his body, forming two faint, hazy shadows that eventually reabsorbed into him.

This was Wu Xian activating the Light of the Mind, a technique that greatly enhanced all his attributes.

However, for endurance, he used only a portion of the Light of the Mind—but even so, his speed surpassed most True Gods; even if the Eternal Youth Heavenly Sovereign manifested a projection now, he would struggle to locate Wu Xian immediately.

Yet even then, Wu Xian dared not rest for a moment.

There was no choice: the Five Elements Mountain exerted too much pressure—even with full activation of the Light of the Mind, elevating his power to the Near-Sage level, he had no guarantee of victory, let alone the ability to sustain that state for long.

Under these circumstances, retreating was the wisest move.

“Pity—that Five Elements Mountain contained a remarkably complete Primordial Five Elements Dao. If I could have communicated with it properly, it might have greatly accelerated my progress in creating Five Elements Runes…”

Wu Xian thought this, committing it to memory; perhaps someday, if the chance arose, he could try.

But speaking of this journey to the Mountain of Eternal Youth, his gains were truly abundant.

A vast variety of secret techniques and treasures, celestial resources beneficial to cultivation… the Mountain of Eternal Youth had accumulated resources for thousands—even tens of thousands—of years, and nearly all of it was now packed and taken by Wu Xian.

One could imagine that if properly utilized, these resources would allow him to establish a powerful cultivation faction within no time, rivaling top sects like the Heaven-Mending Pavilion and the Deer Pursuit Academy.

Of course, Wu Xian had no intention of doing so; rather than expending energy building a new organization, he preferred to use these resources on himself—or to cultivate the people of Stone Village, at least those he could trust and who might earn him a favor from the Wilderness Heavenly Emperor.

Moreover, among these gains, Wu Xian acquired two items of great importance to him.

One was the Qin Clan’s Five Elements Nirvana Secret Technique.

No need to elaborate—it still relates to creating the Five Elements Runes. If his prediction was correct, once he fully understood them, the prototype of the Five Elements Runes would solidify completely, greatly aiding his upcoming breakthrough into the Inscription Realm.

The other was a peculiar bone fragment he found in a corner of the Mountain of Eternal Youth’s treasure vault. Its material was extraordinary and strangely familiar, resembling closely the Six-Sided Bone Dice—the Mountain Treasure he held—possibly sharing the same origin.

According to the original plot, this must be another fragment of the Primordial True Explanation’s Divine Guide Chapter—one of the three shards of the Ten Thousand Spirits Map.

“Two shards remain… If I recall correctly, they’re somewhere in the Stone Kingdom’s auction house and the Secret Realm of the Western Tomb Beast Mountain.”

“Why not gather the Ten Thousand Spirits Map first, then return to Stone Village? By then, Shi Hao should have finished exploring Mount Baiduan’s map—perfect timing for a surprise.”

Seven days later, the Wilderness, Capital of the Fire Kingdom.

Above the teleportation array, a brilliant pillar of light shot skyward, drawing the attention of many cultivators in the capital, who turned curiously toward it.

The Fire Emperor sensed the anomaly immediately and prepared to investigate, when suddenly—BOOM!—a dozen terrifying lightning bolts descended from the heavens, their power terrifying, targeting the array’s location.

“Damn it!”

The Fire Emperor’s expression changed; he rushed to activate the Dragon Qi to stop it—but too late. The array was already obliterated by the lightning, its space-teleportation function utterly destroyed.

Wu Xian’s figure emerged from the fading lightning, waved his hand to disperse the smoke, and a smile appeared on his face.

“Young friend! What is this…?”

The Fire Emperor had arrived, staring at the ruined altar, his eyes twitching slightly, his gaze toward Wu Xian now tinged with hostility.

“My apologies, Your Majesty, Fire Emperor.”

Wu Xian bowed, offering a contrite smile: “Destroying the array was not my intention. I had a misunderstanding with some friends from the Mystic Domain, and to prevent conflict between the two realms, I had no choice but to resort to this.”

“A misunderstanding? Who did you provoke that you’d flee this way?”

The Fire Emperor was speechless, thinking: This Demon Child truly isn’t easy to handle—whether in the Virtual Spirit Realm or reality, he’s always causing chaos.

“The Mountain of Eternal Youth—have you heard of it?”

“...Goodbye. Don’t see me out.”

The Fire Emperor turned away without expression, acting as if he didn’t know Wu Xian, though inwardly he groaned—already regretting having agreed to let Wu Xian use the teleportation array.

The Mountain of Eternal Youth was an immensely powerful force, with clear ties to the Upper Realm, and that Five Elements Mountain was said to be a supreme treasure, its power far exceeding the Divine Flame Realm—nothing the Fire Kingdom could oppose.

“Damn, is he really that cold? So abrupt!”

Wu Xian watched the Fire Emperor’s retreating back, muttering inwardly—but then his expression shifted slightly as he received a mental transmission from the Fire Emperor.

【Within three years, I will not repair this array.】

“Tch! Old prideful bastard…”

A fleeting smirk vanished from Wu Xian’s lips; he suddenly scowled, hurling insults across the distance as if severing all ties, then activated Earth-Shrinking Technique and swiftly departed from the Fire Kingdom’s capital.

After another half-day of running, Wu Xian finally halted in a desolate valley, unfolding his Inner Universe Cave Heaven from his back, releasing the unconscious Shi Ziling and his wife, along with a small child, about five or six years old.

Clearly, the child was their second son, Qin Hao—the little brat from the original story who lived forever in his brother’s shadow.

Earlier, while looting the Mountain of Eternal Youth, one of Wu Xian’s external manifestations had spotted him training under a Qin Clan elder, so Wu Xian seized the opportunity and kidnapped him outright.

But due to the Supreme Nirvana Plan, Wu Xian remained cautious: before leaving, he used the Dual Complete Hand to transform a passing Qin Clan member into Qin Hao’s exact likeness—even copying his memories—enough to deceive for a while.

Thinking this, Wu Xian waved his hand, awakening the family of three and informing them of their current situation.

As expected, upon learning they had left the Mountain of Eternal Youth and returned to the Wilderness, Shi Ziling and his wife were overjoyed, their faces glowing with unhidden delight.

Clearly, they held no affection for the Mountain of Eternal Youth—having been imprisoned like prisoners for years, and with Qin Clan members openly and covertly seeking to exploit their child; anyone would harbor resentment.

“I don’t want to go! I want to go back to the Mountain of Eternal Youth! You big bad guy, take me back!”

Qin Hao, however, glared defiantly at Wu Xian, shouting that he would make him pay if he didn’t return him.

Wu Xian smiled faintly, unoffended, and proceeded to beat Qin Hao soundly in front of Shi Ziling and his wife.

The truth proved: no spoiled child is beyond fixing with one beating—if one isn’t enough, beat him again, until he whimpers and begs for mercy.

“Child, where are we going now? Stone Village?”

Shi Ziling glanced at Qin Hao, sobbing in his wife’s arms, sighed helplessly, then looked at Wu Xian with cautious tone:

“Not yet. By now, Hao-ge should have reached the Heaven-Mending Pavilion. Returning to Stone Village now won’t find him.”

Wu Xian stretched, gazing into the distance, a sly smile curling his lips.

“For now… Uncle, Auntie, would you like to come with me to the Stone Kingdom to visit some old friends?”
