Chapter 50: The Old Jiangnan Scoundrel Has Lost His Conscience—I

~6 min read 1,143 words

Aside from the new recruit, the other figure was also not familiar.

The Lunhuizhe Wu Xian carefully scrutinized for a long while before realizing the man was none other than Wu Xian, whom he had met only once before.

Now, his appearance had changed drastically compared to last time—as if he had suddenly aged five or six years, transforming from a sallow, emaciated boy into a strikingly handsome youth.

Meanwhile, the Wu Xian dressed in the San Yi Sect’s white uniform was enthusiastically conversing with the new recruit.

Seeing this, the Lunhuizhe Wu Xian made no move to interrupt; instead, he walked straight over to the new recruit in his school uniform, placed a hand on his shoulder, and began sharing his memories.

“Senior three student at Shilan High School, ‘This Scoundrel Must Be Destroyed’ list: Chu Zihang… Holy shit! He’s a Dragon!”

After absorbing the other’s memories, the Lunhuizhe Wu Xian first showed surprise, then clenched his teeth in fury.

Immediately after, he gripped the new recruit hard, forcing him to face him directly, and snarled with menace:

“Once we get back, go straight to Japan, wipe out Ju Zhengzong and the Hebi Clan entirely. No—wait… also that useless loser Lu Mingfei. He must be humanely destroyed. Even if you can’t kill him, break him so badly he can’t move. No mercy.”

“Uh… calm down, bro. I know you’re fired up, but don’t get worked up—”

The high school student—or rather, the Dragon World Wu Xian—said helplessly to the Lunhuizhe Wu Xian.

Like the one Wu Xian, he had also crossed over into the Dragon World via a form of possession; his original body was a typical rich second-generation heir, otherwise he wouldn’t have attended Shilan High, such an elite school.

Even among Shilan High’s sea of rich and official second-generation students, his family background ranked among the top.

Coupled with his excellent grades, handsome looks, and countless admirers among junior and senior girls, he received piles of love letters and gifts in his desk drawer almost daily—truly a life winner.

But precisely because of this, many boys at school who couldn’t land a girlfriend envied, resented, and hated him, secretly placing him on the “This Scoundrel Must Be Destroyed” list, where he consistently ranked second, just below the eternal number-one, Chu Zihang, who had graduated two years ago.

Unfortunately, fate took a turn: a month ago, his parents died in a plane crash while returning from the U.S., leaving him a pitiful orphan who inherited billions.

Without any fake mourning, the original host was genuinely filial; upon hearing of his parents’ death, he was utterly heartbroken, skipping classes for a full month and going nightly to nightclubs to drown himself in alcohol, seemingly trying to numb himself through self-destruction.

Then Wu Xian arrived. The moment he opened his eyes, he was met with a sea of white, undulating curves—and then… nothing happened.

Helpless and uninterested, he barely escaped that seductive den.

Once everything settled, Wu Xian began sorting through the original host’s memories. Upon realizing he had crossed into the Dragon World, he panicked at first, but quickly calmed down.

After all, though the Dragon World was dangerous, as long as he wasn’t a half-blood and deliberately avoided the areas where the novel’s protagonists operated, securing his own safety should be manageable.

Thinking this, the Dragon World Wu Xian looked in the mirror the next morning and noticed his eyes glowed with a molten gold hue; that afternoon, he received an invitation bearing the emblem of a half-decayed World Tree—the insignia of the Cassell Academy from the novel.

Shit! Cassell’s targeting me!

At this possibility, the Dragon World Wu Xian gasped and without hesitation tossed the invitation into the trash.

But minutes later, his Nokia N96 phone—sent with the invitation—rang. Wu Xian instinctively answered, and a gentle, refined elderly voice came through.

The man identified himself as Hilbert Jean Anger, headmaster of Cassell Academy, a longtime friend of his parents. He had detected signs of bloodline awakening in him and wished to invite him to Cassell to learn the truth of this world.

I don’t fucking want to know!

The Dragon World Wu Xian went mad inside but dared not refuse outright, fearing Anger the madman might sense something amiss. He mumbled he’d think it over, hung up, and began pondering how to handle this crisis.

As he thought, the Dragon World Wu Xian grew drowsy—and when he opened his eyes again, he was already in the mysterious space.

After sorting through his memories, the Lunhuizhe Wu Xian gradually calmed down, gazing at the Dragon World Wu Xian with a look of disbelief.

Such an enviable—ahem!—disgusting start was truly unprecedented.

But as always: once you return, you must destroy Ju Zhengzong and his master Herzog, or your mind won’t be clear, and you won’t get a single ability from me ever again.

I don’t need you—I can get abilities from other Wu Xians!

The Dragon World Wu Xian rolled his eyes but replied patiently: “Ju Zhengzong and Herzog, fine. Even the Hebi Clan is acceptable. But leave Lu Mingfei alone. If you harm him, Lu Mingze will come knocking at my door for tea tonight.”

To be fair, if conditions allowed, he’d love to mess with Lu Mingfei too. But with the current combined combat power of all Wu Xians, achieving total dominance in the Dragon World still had a long way to go.

Leaving aside the Black King, who remains a background figure, even the unfathomable Odin isn’t easy to handle, let alone the mysterious Lu Mingze—if both factions turn their eyes on me for reckless actions, I’m not sure I can survive.

After all, power in the Dragon World stems from bloodline. Other Wu Xians’ abilities can’t be perfectly transferred. Once I return, the best I can manage is a one-on-one fight against one of the Four Lords—and even then, only a half-finished version with separated Authority and Power.

To achieve invincibility through physical strength alone, I’d need to either devour a Wu Xian and break through to Planetary Level, or have the Lunhuizhe Wu Xian here unlock the Fourth Gene Lock—only then might there be a sliver of hope.

Next, I’ll write seven or eight chapters set in the One World, then return to Infinite Terror for the Curse of the Dead team battle; likely going live around then. Please, dear readers, don’t abandon me—keep following! Whether I make the Three Rivers list next week depends entirely on you!

Please follow! Please follow! Please follow!

If you’ve read this far and are satisfied, please finish the latest chapter’s end, then flip a few pages to reach the follow-up interface (not shown beyond 100th place, but still counts)—only then is your follow-up successful!

Please! This is vital for my new novel!
