Chapter 220: Six Strokes Per Second Isn
Tony swung the staff again, smashing it hard against Loki’s buttocks in a loving strike.
Loki finally couldn’t take it anymore—his neck veins bulged as he turned and roared at Thor:
“Look what Itachi’ve done! If it weren’t for Itachi, this idiot, would I be humiliated by Earth’s insects?”
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became—he blamed his own stupid brother entirely for his current predicament.
Otherwise, even under torture, he would never have suffered such disgrace.
Thor was stunned, his face filled with disbelief.
Why did his brother hate him?
What had he ever done to deserve this?
It was Tony who was beating his ass!
“Loki, Itachi—”
Before he could defend himself, Loki’s sharper curses drowned him out.
Loki even dredged up every dark secret from his birth to the present.
But Tony didn’t bother recording Loki’s dark history—he grabbed Loki’s hair and shoved his face into the sand.
“Speak! Where is the Tesseract hidden?”
“Say one more word, and I’ll make your ass bloom.”
Loki struggled to lift his head, blood frothing at his lips, his eyes brimming with mockery:
“Itachi?”
“Ignorant Earthling, Itachi think brute force can break me?”
“Even if I am shattered to dust, I won’t utter a single word.”
“Wait—I’ll collect this debt, with interest, one day.”
Tony sneered: “Still got a mouth on Itachi.”
His staff came down like rain, unleashing a furious barrage.
Six strikes per second wasn’t Tony’s limit—he was just afraid he’d kill his hostage.
Loki’s muffled groans echoed through the night air.
At that moment, Luo Jie suddenly spoke: “Enough. It’s the middle of the night—your screaming’s disturbing the neighbors.”
“Let me see where he hid the Space Stone.”
The next instant, Luo Jie’s eyes turned completely white.
Tony was startled.
What kind of magic was this?
Before he could ponder it, Luo Jie said: “Found it.”
He waved his hand, and a blue-glowing wormhole slowly opened before them.
Through the wormhole, they saw a laboratory filled with precision instruments—Dr. Erik was staring blankly as he operated the equipment.
Loki’s face turned instantly pale, a flicker of panic crossing his eyes.
He struggled to rise, but invisible gravity pinned him down.
“Is this magic?”
Tony stared at the wormhole, his face full of curiosity.
Luo Jie glanced at him, voice calm: “It’s technology.”
“Sure it is.”
Tony scoffed: “I’m a high-tech expert—this is clearly magic.”
Luo Jie had no interest in explaining—he waved his hand dismissively: “Believe it or not, stubborn fool, get lost.”
Tony didn’t argue—he stepped through the wormhole into the lab.
Dr. Erik turned his head mechanically, eyes dull and vacant; before he could react, Tony knocked him unconscious.
Too bad Dr. Erik wasn’t Magneto—he couldn’t control magnetism.
Otherwise, Tony would’ve been nothing but a tin can to be toyed with in front of him.
“Sorry, Doctor.”
Tony mumbled as he walked toward the control panel, urgently scanning for the Tesseract.
Just as Tony found the Tesseract and reached out to touch it—
Luo Jie gestured with a flick of his fingers; the Tesseract instantly detached from the console and flew straight into his hand.
Tony immediately looked over.
A shocking sight occurred.
The surface of the Tesseract cracked like glass, blue light bursting from the fissures.
The Tesseract had split open.
“What the hell is this?!”
Tony froze in place.
Then, a glowing blue stone slowly rose from the shattered Tesseract and hovered in Luo Jie’s palm.
Luo Jie toyed with the stone and smiled: “Didn’t I say so?”
“The Tesseract was just a container—this is the true Space Stone.”
Tony stared at the Space Stone, his throat bobbing: “Shouldn’t this be returned to S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
“Return it to S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
Luo Jie laughed bitterly, cutting him off: “That egghead can’t even tell if his own office has a mole—Itachi want to hand this over to Hydra?”
Here, Luo Jie pointed at Thor, still struggling against the gravity.
“Besides, the Tesseract was originally Asgard’s heirloom—your dumb oaf of a father was its former owner.”
“Now, the Space Stone is mine.”
“If Itachi want to visit later, Itachi’ll have to buy a ticket.”
Tony hesitated, glancing between Luo Jie and the trapped Thor and Loki.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say more.
“Enough, Mr. Stark. Stop being S.H.I.E.L.D.’s free babysitter.”
Luo Jie waved him off impatiently, like shooing a fly: “Take your glowing tin can and get out.”
“With the Space Stone in my hands, at least I don’t have to worry about aliens coming to Earth to cause trouble.”
Tony opened his mouth to retort—but swallowed the words.
Indeed, S.H.I.E.L.D. was in chaos right now.
Given its current state, handing the Tesseract over to them was absolutely unsafe—it might become Hydra’s new toy.
And he had to admit: Luo Jie’s displayed power truly gave him the authority to guard the Tesseract.
Moreover, he had to admit that Rojie’s displayed power indeed had the capital to guard the Cosmic Cube.
Tony closed his armor’s faceplate and activated the thrusters, lifting into the air.
The fiery exhaust of the Iron Man suit illuminated the night sky before vanishing into the distance.
Luo Jie’s gaze swept over Thor and Loki—the brotherly pair bound by love and hatred.
Thor sensed Luo Jie’s stare; despite being pinned, he still strained his neck to shout: “Earthling, release me at once!”
“I must take my brother back to Asgard for trial.”
Luo Jie smiled: “Of course.”
“But first, sign a small agreement.”
He snapped his fingers—Thor instantly felt the gravity vanish.
At that moment, Gwen emerged from the villa wrapped in a robe, rubbing her eyes, holding two contracts stamped with the Watco logo.
With each step, the robe subtly outlined her slender waist and rounded hips.
Thor snatched the contract, scanned the fine print, and frowned deeply.
Though he was a fool, he could see these terms were malicious.
What kind of contract was this?
It was clearly a deed of indenture.
Even slave traders didn’t go this far.
Thinking of this, Thor glanced at his good brother Loki, then signed his name with a bold stroke.
Then he grabbed Loki’s wrist, ignoring his furious glare, and forcibly pressed his fingerprint onto the contract.
He sold himself—and his brother too.
Of course, Thor had his reasons.
So what? Earth’s laws couldn’t possibly reach Asgard.
Luo Jie happily tucked the contracts away, gazing at the two men with satisfaction—as if admiring two profit-making tools.
“Don’t even think about backing out. Even if Itachi flee to the ends of the universe, I’ll find Itachi.”
With that, Luo Jie ignored the brothers, wrapped his arm around Gwen, and turned to walk away.
Leaving behind Thor, laughing like an idiot, and Loki, on the verge of tears.
