Chapter 222: The Avengers Assemble: Odin Sells His Son to Survive
Rojie, hearing Nick Fury’s words, sneered, “Oh? Has Egghead finally decided to let them go?”
From the other end of the line came Nick Fury’s gritted-teeth growl, mixed with faint, distant background noise.
“If Itachi won’t release them, Itachi’ll have to dig them out yourself anyway.”
Then Nick Fury’s tone turned serious.
“I’m asking Itachi to root out every Hydra mole inside S.H.I.E.L.D.”
“S.H.I.E.L.D. has been having incidents every other day—I suspect Hydra knows I’ve caught on to their presence.”
Rojie shrugged indifferently, “Easy. I’ll have Gwen send Itachi the list of moles later.”
With that, Rojie hung up the phone.
“Gwen!”
Rojie bellowed at the top of his lungs.
Within seconds, Gwen burst into the living room, hands on her hips: “Boss, what now?”
Rojie leaned back on the sofa, legs crossed: “Use Insight Eye to compile a list of Hydra moles inside S.H.I.E.L.D. and email it to Egghead.”
Gwen immediately complained, “Boss, I’ve been running like a top lately—still haven’t finished the company’s promotional plan, Itachi’ve got me recruiting, and now Itachi want a mole list?”
Though she grumbled, she still walked over and stood beside Rojie.
Gwen took a deep breath and slowly closed her eyes.
When she opened them again, her eyes had turned completely white, and she began reading Earth’s information out of thin air.
Gwen had linked to Rojie’s Dark Dimension and held permission to use Insight Eye, allowing her direct access to Earth’s data.
Hydra didn’t have the technology of the Supreme Academy—no Dark Dimension firewall could stop Gwen from reading.
After a long while, the white in Gwen’s eyes faded, returning to normal.
She pulled out her phone, typed furiously, composed an email, and sent off the compiled list of Hydra moles.
After sending the email, Gwen stretched and said to Rojie, “Done, Boss.”
Rojie nodded. “Good job. I’ll add a chicken leg to your dinner tonight.”
Gwen rolled her eyes and walked out of the living room.
…
Several days later.
Walt Company Headquarters.
The elevator doors had barely closed when Tony, dressed in a flashy suit, stepped in and immediately spotted Thor standing in the center.
“Oh? Long time no see—aren’t Itachi the legendary Thunder God?”
Tony tugged at his red tie and smirked mockingly, “Still sore from your precious brother’s butt?”
Thor’s face darkened instantly; a beast-like growl rumbled in his throat: “Itachi’re too arrogant.”
Before he finished speaking, his fist smashed toward Tony’s face, slicing through the air.
Tony staggered back into the elevator door; the metallic clang echoed in the confined space.
“Big dumb brute only knows how to swing fists?”
Tony rose, clutching his head, tugging at his tie as he mocked.
Thor snarled, “Without that tin can, Itachi’re nothing!”
Before he finished speaking, Thor swung another punch.
Seeing Thor still wanted to beat him, Tony immediately activated his Druid Armor.
Instantly, thick vines surged forth, wrapping him in lush green plant armor.
With the armor’s enhancement, Tony dodged Thor’s punch and taunted, “Try my Druid Three—specifically designed for muscle-brains like Itachi.”
The two fought fiercely inside the elevator—sometimes Thor pinned Tony to the floor and ground him down, sometimes Tony swung Thor upside down with vines and pounded him.
Soon, Tony seized another opportunity, grabbed Thor, and hurled him to the floor like a sack of sand.
The battered metal floor dented under the impact; the elevator lurched violently, lights flickering, alarms screeching.
At that moment, the elevator doors were forcibly opened from outside.
Steve charged in, shield raised, followed by Banner, Barton, and Natasha, watching like spectators.
“Enough. Stop it,” Steve slammed his shield between them.
“If Itachi want to fight, go outside—don’t tear apart the elevator.”
Thor panted as he rose, glaring at Tony:
“Next time, don’t let me run into Itachi in an elevator.”
“Next time, Itachi won’t have a chance to hide behind that tree bark.”
Tony turned to Steve, spreading his hands in feigned innocence: “He started it—I was just defending myself.”
…
Soon, the group entered a conference room.
Tony slouched in his chair, still wearing the Druid Three armor, legs crossed.
Thor sat across from him, tense, arms crossed, shooting venomous glares at Tony every few seconds.
Between them sat Banner, Barton, and Natasha.
An invisible tension spread through the air.
Steve stood before the conference table, back straight, eyes sweeping over them all:
“We are all now superheroes under Walt Company. Starting today, we form a new team: the Avengers.”
“The Avengers?”
Tony raised an eyebrow and scoffed, “Isn’t that Egghead’s old discarded idea?”
“Why did Rojie steal it?”
“And if Itachi’re forming it, why isn’t Rojie here?”
Thor snorted but said nothing.
When he received Rojie’s request to join the Avengers, he had no intention of coming.
But his father Odin ordered him to come, saying he needed to engage more with Earth—so he was forced to come.
Of course, Thor had no idea his father was merely trying to avoid Rojie showing up to forcibly recruit him—selling his son to escape.
At that moment, the air in the conference room twisted; a blue-glowing wormhole slowly opened.
Rojie, hands in his pockets, strolled out of the wormhole with casual confidence.
“Huh? Did someone just mention me?”
Rojie raised an eyebrow, scanning the room, then fixed his gaze on Tony.
“Heard Itachi just got into a fight in the elevator—still got plenty of energy.”
Tony perked up immediately, smirking: “Not as bad as your taste—same level as Egghead.”
“‘The Avengers’? What a tacky name.”
“And your choice of recruits.”
His gaze landed on Natasha beside him.
“What’s my former secretary doing here? Itachi’d be better off making coffee.”
Natasha crossed her arms and sneered, “Playboy, take off that tree bark and see if Itachi can beat a woman like me.”
Tony grinned wickedly, “If it’s in bed, sure—happy to oblige anytime.”
At that moment, Rojie snapped his fingers; Tony suddenly found he couldn’t utter a single word.
He was forcibly silenced.
“Alright. Today’s only one thing: the Avengers are officially formed.”
