Chapter 15: The Nightmare of Orthodox Yiren
Zhang Luofu’s goal was never to annihilate the Lu Family Troupe or inflict irreversible harm on its members.
After all, he merely hoped to use the Lu Family Troupe as a stepping stone to reach Lu Jin—and if possible, obtain the transmission of Ni Sheng San Chong and refine his own system.
At this moment, using the power of the Seven Sins Eye against the Lu Family Troupe was merely an act of kindness, while simultaneously establishing his authority!!
As the members of the Lu Family Troupe were on the verge of being utterly submerged in the Seven Sins, unable to extricate themselves.
The Seven Sins Eye on Zhang Luofu’s forehead slowly closed.
The Lu Family Troupe, who had been struggling against the inner Seven Sins and teetering on the brink of collapse, finally broke free from the hellish descent of desire.
“This… what is this?” Lu Linglong said, still shaken.
“Xia He!! This is Xia He of the Four Maniacs of Quanxing manipulating lust!! This guy is definitely a fraud!!” Calm now, Cang Long recalled the desires that had surged within him just moments ago. His face flushed red as he glared angrily at Zhang Luofu.
Bai Shixue, who had been the first and most severely affected by the Seven Sins, now took a deep breath and looked at Luofu with an odd expression. “It’s different. His ability is merely similar to the Four Maniacs.”
“This guy is too dangerous,” Zhi Jinhua said, drenched in sweat. “I… I was so arrogant just now…”
After a brief pause, Zhi Jinhua unconsciously glanced at Lu Linglong beside him.
“This is my innate ability!! The Seven Sins Eye!!” Zhang Luofu casually brushed back the strands of hair on his forehead, revealing the faintly visible Seven Sins Eye.
“Whoa. This… this is Erlang Shen!!” Xi blurted out.
“Bai Shixue,” Lu Linglong cautiously asked, “does he have Shen Chong’s qi?”
With a meaningful look at Luofu, Bai Shixue shook his head. “His qi is pure—completely different from the nauseating qi he acquired after borrowing Shen Chong’s.”
Upon receiving this confirmation, Lu Linglong solemnly faced Zhang Luofu, bowing slightly as if in apology.
“Mr. Zhang Luofu, I apologize. Given your unique circumstances, we had no choice but to test Itachi. Now, on behalf of the Lu Family, I, Lu Linglong, invite Itachi to join the Lu Family—and I will personally recommend Itachi to my great-grandfather.”
One must admit that although Lu Linglong appeared soft and innocent, she was in fact decisive and swift.
Having agreed to help Luofu introduce himself to Grandpa Lu, she immediately pulled out her phone and contacted Lu Jin, laying out the entire situation.
Soon, under Lu Linglong’s invitation, Luofu—who had already taken leave from school—joined the members of the Lu Family Troupe and headed toward the Lu Family estate.
As one of the four great families with centuries of heritage in the yiren world.
After learning from Lu Linglong about this extraordinary individual named Zhang Luofu—and especially upon discovering his innate ability, similar to that of the Four Maniacs of Quanxing—Lu Jin was filled with intense curiosity.
According to Lu Linglong and the others, Lu Jin easily deduced that Zhang Luofu’s ability differed from the Four Maniacs’ methods. In fact, compared to the Four Maniacs, his ability was far more comprehensive.
As the name suggests, he wielded the power of the Seven Sins.
Xia He of Quanxing’s Bone-Scraping Knife wielded only one of the Seven Sins: lust.
But Luofu? He mastered all seven: pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust.
Such an ability—unless one willingly descends into corruption—is the nightmare of every orthodox yiren.
For such a prodigy born with extraordinary abilities, who wielded the power of the Seven Sins and voluntarily sought to join the Lu Family, Lu Jin welcomed him with open arms.
Even before Luofu and his companions arrived at the Lu Family compound, Lu Jin, as head of the family, personally went out to greet them.
A crisp suit clung to Lu Jin, a man over a hundred years old, yet not a trace of senility could be sensed.
“Hahaha… this must be young Luofu, right? Welcome, welcome!!” Seeing Luofu arrive surrounded by Lu Linglong and the others, Lu Jin strode forward with enthusiasm.
“I don’t need to introduce myself, do I?”
As he spoke, Lu Jin’s gaze involuntarily fell upon Luofu’s forehead.
The faint vertical eye, partially hidden beneath the strands of hair, stirred even greater excitement within him.
“Your humble disciple, Zhang Luofu, greets Grandpa Lu.”
“No formalities! Come, come, come! Let’s go inside and talk!” Overjoyed, Lu Jin took Zhang Luofu’s arm, bypassing the main courtyard and leading him into the room.
In Lu Jin’s presence, Lu Linglong and the others became as docile as quails, standing quietly to the side—yet all strained their ears to catch every word of the coming exchange between Lu Jin and Zhang Luofu.
As a yiren possessing such a terrifying innate ability as the Seven Sins Eye, Zhang Luofu’s decision to join the Lu Family must have come with conditions.
Only after both sides reached an agreement would Zhang Luofu truly become a member of the Lu Family Troupe.
“I’ve heard about Itachi from Linglong. For decades, your pursuit of the Dao has never wavered. Now that your wish has been fulfilled, Itachi’ve still preserved your original heart. Good child!! Good child!!”
Lu Jin looked at Zhang Luofu with deep emotion.
Over a hundred years old, Lu Jin had encountered countless yiren. Even among the strictly regulated postnatal yiren, many went mad with power once they achieved success.
And that’s not even mentioning prenatal yiren—their power comes too easily.
With little cultivation of character, they are easily misled by the overwhelming force that descends upon them from nowhere.
Many of the Quanxing deviants belong to this category.
If Itachi divide rogue yiren into three parts, seven out of ten are prenatal yiren.
But prenatal yiren’s abilities are often not very strong, so they cause little damage.
But Luofu is different!!
Just the sin of lust alone gave rise to Xia He of the Four Maniacs of Quanxing.
And Luofu? He wields all seven sins at once—and in a single glance, he obliterated the entire Lu Family Troupe!
In strength, in scope, in every aspect, Luofu is unquestionably among the elite of prenatal yiren.
And yet, he has preserved his original heart—his cultivation of character is so advanced that even Lu Jin personally came to greet him.
Truly, people like Luofu are exceedingly rare.
Unlike the cultivation of life, cultivation of character is the most difficult to advance in the yiren world.
Though Buddhist and Daoist traditions constantly speak of cultivating both life and character, the cultivation of character differs from that of life. Unlike the tangible progress of life cultivation, character cultivation is either slow, steady work—or a sudden enlightenment.
The latter is rare and unpredictable, so we set it aside. The former takes years, and even a slight misstep risks regression—or leaving irreversible spiritual wounds. Lu Jin himself is a classic example.
