Chapter 659: Opposing the Entire Fairy Tail World

~10 min read 1,829 words

The Magic Council issued a continent-wide warrant for Luo Fu solely based on Urus’s account because of this.

This was not necessarily because Luo Fu had truly done something harmful to the entire Fairy Tail world, but because he possessed power the Magic Council felt it could not control.

Power was the true key; Luo Fu could even imagine how the Magic Council, upon learning his strength from Urus and piecing together her description of his character, had immediately issued the warrant.

Just as in one world, Zhang Chulan’s grandfather Zhang Xilin had once spoken to Zhang Chulan.

Luo Fu appeared out of nowhere, and his strength was so immense that the Magic Council had no means to respond—that was the real reason he was wanted, even if his power were nearly equal to Urus’s, the Magic Council would not have issued such an abrupt warrant.

Though he did not care about the Magic Council’s warrant, Luo Fu did not want to end up like Zeref.

Thus, sending Zeraul, a former subordinate only useful as a tool, straight to the Magic Council as his own infiltrating tentacle into the Magic Council—even the Saint Ten—became Luo Fu’s best choice.

After all, Zeraul had the highest potential on the Tower of Heaven; even all of Erza and the others combined could not match Zeraul’s magical talent.

Yet Luo Fu had no intention of personally teaching Zeraul.

The task of teaching Zeraul, Luo Fu chose at once to entrust to Zeref.

After all, Zeref’s twisted curse was destined to leave him with little help; if so, why not repurpose him to instruct Zeraul?

Of course, Luo Fu now confidently had a way to suppress the death energy emitted by Zeref’s twisted curse and its influence on Zeraul.

If he could not achieve this, he would never let Zeraul learn from Zeref.

Zeraul was, for a long time, a tool in Luo Fu’s mind—he could not be so easily wasted.

And Luo Fu’s method to help Zeref was simple: confine Zeref within his Shinra Space.

Shinra Space existed independently outside the entire Fairy Tail universe.

Though localized, it was still part of the Fairy Tail system, yet it could not interact with or influence the broader Fairy Tail system.

This had already been proven earlier when Daielora was trapped within Shinra Space.

Luo Fu only needed to have Zeref enter Shinra Space, leaving a thought-body on the Tower of Heaven as a medium to guide Zeraul; once Zeref completed teaching Zeraul, Luo Fu was confident he could fully extract Zeref’s wisdom and knowledge of magic, after which killing Zeref would be simple.

When Zeref learned of Luo Fu’s plan from his mouth, he felt no resentment over being used, for he himself had always wished for Luo Fu to end his life.

Compared to Luo Fu’s plan to drain him, Zeref now cared more about the independent space Luo Fu claimed could seal off the death energy from his twisted curse.

After all, Zeref had previously considered using thought-bodies—not only to avoid solitude but also to perfectly contain the death energy’s effect on surrounding life.

But sadly, the twisted curse, a powerful enchantment even Zeref—a genius—could not break in four hundred years, was a magic that acted on the spiritual realm yet affected reality.

Its effect varied by person: it could make the kind create suffering for themselves, or make the evil appear saintly.

It would not be limited to the body simply because of a thought-body.

Even if a thought-body split off, the twisted curse still split along with it, and worse, the curse’s power suffered no weakening.

If the curse’s effect on the original body was one hundred, then every thought-body, no matter how many, retained the full hundred-point effect of the curse.

But now Luo Fu swore that merely by entering Shinra Space, Zeref’s original body could completely sever the twisted curse, allowing him to teach others through thought-bodies without affecting them.

This so-called Shinra Space clearly exceeded Zeref’s centuries-long understanding.

Remember, Zeref possessed many lost magics, forbidden magics, and super magics.

Even so, he had no means to counter the twisted curse; even his lover, Mavis, died from the death energy it emitted.

To some extent, the curse’s influence had gone beyond mere energy—it reached the level of concept, even the Dao and Principle of the world itself.

After all, Zeref’s mastery of magic already allowed him to manipulate life and death.

Not to mention, he had created Daielora, the Demon of Undying Calamity, and his Book of Zeref contained numerous demons he had personally created.

He had created countless lives; combined with his black magic, calling him a master of life and death was no exaggeration.

Only if the twisted curse reached the level of concept could it explain why Mavis, the first Guild Master of Fairy Tail who wielded time magic, could only perish before it.

And now Luo Fu claimed Shinra Space could isolate the influence of his twisted curse.

To Zeref, if this were true, then Luo Fu’s Shinra Space clearly possessed the power to oppose the very truths of the entire Fairy Tail world.

On this point, Zeref underestimated Shinra Space.

Do not forget: after being enhanced by Luo Fu’s cultivation across twelve heavenly worlds, Shinra Space’s upper limit was now no less than a true independent world.

What Luo Fu currently lacked was not anything else, but time to localize this power.

Even though Shinra Space had not yet fully evolved into Shinra Dimension or Shinra World, its foundation was sufficient for Luo Fu to help Zeref sever the twisted curse at this stage.

Since Zeref himself wished to cooperate with Luo Fu and be freed from the twisted curse through his hands, the stronger Luo Fu’s methods, the greater the chance of success.

Zeref showed no hesitation whatsoever toward Luo Fu’s proposal.

At once, he followed Luo Fu’s instructions and entered Shinra Space.

Upon entering Shinra Space, Zeref immediately split off a thought-body and handed it to Luo Fu, asking him to send it outside Shinra Space to test whether it truly blocked the twisted curse.

One must admit, over four hundred years, Zeref had endured countless disappointments.

Even though Luo Fu swore Shinra Space could block the death energy of the twisted curse,

without personally experiencing it, Zeref could not fully relax.

With Luo Fu’s power, Zeref’s thought-body left Shinra Space and reentered the Fairy Tail world, arriving at the seaside outside the Tower of Heaven, where it fished up a fish.

When the thought-body approached the fish, the fish merely struggled from being removed from water.

Zeref’s thought-body’s face instantly lit up with stunned joy.

Yet even so, he still could not fully dispel his doubts.

The thought-body leapt into the sea and approached one marine creature after another.

Zeref was not disappointed: Shinra Space had truly and completely blocked the twisted curse’s power.

Zeref’s original body within Shinra Space still emitted death energy under the curse’s influence, but the external thought-body behaved as if entirely separate from Zeref.

Even a curse approaching conceptual magnitude could not breach Shinra Space’s isolation.

Zeref’s thought-body remained on the Tower of Heaven to guide Zeraul, Luo Fu’s tool.

Not only Zeraul, but all surviving companions who awakened magical power or showed talent for magic were thrown by Luo Fu to Zeref’s thought-body for instruction.

No wonder he was once an extraordinary genius.

Though Zeref was famed for his mastery of black magic and called the progenitor of dark mages, his proficiency in other magical fields remained astonishing.

Teaching these children, who knew nothing of magic, was effortless for Zeref’s thought-body.

Meanwhile, Zeref’s original body remained trapped in Shinra Space, entrusting all his knowledge to Luo Fu.

If Luo Fu was Zeref’s true heir, then Zeraul and the Tower of Heaven companions were merely his students.

The former truly received all of Zeref’s legacy—his magical wisdom, knowledge, and inheritance.

Even the Book of Zeref, upon confirming Shinra Space could isolate his twisted curse, Zeref immediately passed to Luo Fu.

Meanwhile, as Luo Fu seized the Tower of Heaven and began establishing his own power base,

in the far north of the continent, beneath icy snow and silver-white landscapes, a solitary ice house stood alone in the blizzard.

Inside the ice house.

Urus, Gray, and Leo were gathered, preparing to eat.

Since Leo had disobeyed and run off last time in the village, though Luo Fu’s appearance disrupted many destined events,

after reporting Luo Fu’s existence to the Magic Council, Urus still brought back her rebellious disciple.

Now, Leo stood trembling, visibly terrified.

Indeed, after encountering Daielora and then discovering the terrifying non-human entity Luo Fu,

Urus felt Leo and Gray were like young calves unaware of the terror of top-tier monsters.

Though Urus was gentle, when teaching her disciples—especially matters of life and death—she had become unbearably strict for the first time.

“Urus, I know I was wrong. Can Itachi forgive me this once?” Leo stammered.

As Urus, face grim, prepared to scold Leo again, her movements froze—her expression filled with disbelief, her eyes snapping toward the ice house’s exterior.

In the direction Urus stared, a black-haired girl in a thin dress stood far off, her face troubled, hesitating to approach the ice house.

The next moment, a figure burst out of the ice house.

Rushing straight toward the black-haired girl.

The black-haired girl, seeing the figure from afar, froze as if her feet were welded to the ground.

The figure, emerging from the ice house with unprecedented speed, reached the black-haired girl—Urus froze in place, her eyes instantly clouding with tears.

“Itachi… Urzdia… Itachi… Itachi’re really alive?”

Yes, the black-haired girl in the icy wasteland, dressed in thin clothing, was none other than Urus’s daughter, Urzdia.

Since learning from Luo Fu on the Tower of Heaven about the misunderstanding between her and her mother,

Urzdia had been plunged into unprecedented turmoil.

After all, everything Urzdia had done was largely to avenge the Urus in her heart.

Even without Luo Fu’s intervention, Urzdia had played a role in Urus’s death while sealing Daielora.

These mother and daughter were meant to die without ever resolving their misunderstanding.

Now, because of Luo Fu’s appearance, they had an early chance to reconcile.

Suppressing her inner excitement,

Urzdia took a deep breath and said: “Urus, I want Itachi to tell me—why did Itachi never come to visit me in the Institute? Even after the Institute was destroyed, Itachi never thought to find me?”

Urus stood frozen, her mind utterly unable to process this.

In her memory, her daughter Urzdia had died long ago in the Institute from an innate magical power too strong to be cured.

Yet now, Urzdia stood before her, unharmed—and worse, Urus sensed a powerful threat emanating from her.

This meant Urzdia had not only survived but had become this powerful a mage without Urus’s knowledge.

Then what on earth had happened?
