Chapter 9: Inhuman Terror
In the world of Yi Ren Zhi Xia, the quantity of primordial qi has its limits.
After all, this world does not resemble the Naruto world, with chakra and natural energy; here, qi is exclusive to living beings—only sentient entities possess primordial qi.
In nature, there is at most qi formation.
But although “qi” and “primordial qi” sound identical, they are entirely different.
At this moment, Zhang Luofu fearlessly revealed his immense qi, vast as mountain ranges and earth veins.
It gave everyone present the sensation of a towering mountain charging straight toward them.
“So… so strong a qi!!” Feng Shaya’s face paled; her body trembled instinctively as she shielded her sister Feng Yaya behind her.
Zhang Lingyu of Longhu Mountain and two other Daoists no longer paid attention to Zhang Chulan; sweat poured down their foreheads as they stared at Zhang Luofu’s approach, their vision blurring—before them stood not a figure in a comical mask, but the majestic Mount Song.
“Mount Song? Little Master, who is this lineage from?” asked the thin Daoist wearing sunglasses, drenched in sweat, addressing Zhang Lingyu.
Zhang Lingyu, though stunned by the inhuman terror of Zhang Luofu’s overwhelming primordial qi,
still refused to retreat a single step, his pride in Longhu Mountain overriding even the crushing pressure within him.
“I don’t know! But though his intent is hostile, his qi carries no killing intent!” Zhang Lingyu chanted the Golden Light Spell, cautiously alert, as he replied to the two junior disciples behind him.
On the other side, Zhang Chulan was utterly stunned.
Before his grandfather was dug up from his tomb, he had always believed himself to be special.
But now, he realized he was nothing but a minnow.
Feng Baobao, appearing from nowhere, shattered his supposedly unbreakable Golden Light Spell with a kitchen knife; then the Quanxing gang toyed with him; now even the plush toy of the Tianxia Hui could casually stuff him into a sack, and Longhu Mountain’s brutal beating had utterly crushed what little pride Zhang Chulan had left.
Yet no prior experience compared to this moment—facing Zhang Luofu walking slowly toward him.
Qi is the primal force of all life; every living thing—human, yiren, birds, beasts, insects, fish, plants, even microbes—possesses qi. Qi is the core of all existence; when qi disperses, death follows.
Facing such overwhelming qi was like facing a prehistoric Tyrannosaurus rex with bare hands.
“Baobao, go! No! Master… Master, please go! Itachi can protect me from this guy, right?” Zhang Chulan now had no pride left; instinctively assuming Zhang Luofu had come for him, he pinned all hope on Feng Baobao.
But Feng Baobao, at this moment, seemed lost in memory.
Wu Shen’s eyes suddenly brightened as she blurted out: “I remember! This qi!! Itachi’re the kid who ambushed us last time!! Where are your wings?”
Speaking too much invites misfortune; Luofu’s purpose here was solely to challenge Zhang Lingyu, the young master of Longhu Mountain.
Don’t assume Zhang Lingyu lost to Zhang Chulan in the Tianxia Da Jiao because Zhang Chulan is truly powerful.
Don’t forget: Zhang Lingyu lost only because the Old Heavenly Master drugged him. Without exaggeration, among his peers—even those who mastered the Eight Marvels—he’d still be nearly unbeatable.
He simply cannot overcome his own inner Yin Wu Lei. Zhang Lingyu’s strength is bound to rise further.
After all, Zhang Lingyu is a disciple the Old Heavenly Master Zhang Zhi took on at nearly a hundred years old!! Just from Zhang Zhi’s attitude, one can sense Zhang Lingyu’s talent.
Zhang Chulan, as the protagonist, is indeed powerful—having risen swiftly despite ten years of setbacks. But Zhang Lingyu is a genius no less extraordinary than Zhang Chulan!!
He stopped at a distance of dozens of meters from Zhang Lingyu.
Zhang Luofu halted and dispersed the Five Peaks Seal in his hand.
“Master Lingyu. I am a wandering cultivator. I seek to test my learning against yours. Please, Master, grant me your instruction! This duel is purely for practice—no life or death, only victory or defeat!”
The instant Zhang Luofu finished speaking, the crowd’s thoughts diverged.
The Tianxia Hui and Zhang Chulan both exhaled in relief.
Zhang Chulan couldn’t help but sigh deeply: “Thank goodness! Thank goodness! This time it’s not after me—it’s after this white-haired guy!! White-hair, keep being arrogant!”
The smug Zhang Chulan was immediately slapped across the face by Feng Baobao.
“Don’t mock Zhang Lingyu. If this kid wants to beat Itachi, I might not even stop him. And he’s been staring at Itachi all along.”
Zhang Chulan suddenly felt a chill. He forced a nervous laugh: “Baobao… Master, Itachi’re… Itachi’re just teasing me, right?”
Feng Baobao stared at him blankly and shook her head: “It’s true. Last time, when Quanxing took Itachi away, he was there. Those ground spikes? He made them. He’s targeting Zhang Lingyu now, but after this, he’ll come for Itachi.”
Feng Baobao’s rare long-winded explanation only deepened Zhang Chulan’s unease.
“Then…” Zhang Chulan clenched his teeth, steeling himself: “Should we help Zhang Lingyu first? Since this guy’s so tough, we take him out, then deal with Zhang Lingyu!”
This time, Feng Baobao ignored Zhang Chulan entirely, for Zhang Luofu, without waiting for Zhang Lingyu’s reply, spoke directly: “Master Lingyu! Watch out!!”
The moment the words left his lips,
a thick, earth-yellow qi, visible to all, traced a mysterious pattern in the air.
“It’s the Five Peaks True Form Diagram—the Song Diagram! Little Master, be careful!!” cried the Daoist with wide eyes, alarmed by this unprecedented technique.
As soon as the Song Diagram was complete, Zhang Luofu did not pause—he immediately drew the Nan Yue, Xi Yue, Bei Yue, and Dong Yue diagrams in midair, one after another.
Before Zhang Luofu, the Five Peaks True Form Diagram shimmered with five colors.
Dong Yue’s emerald green, Nan Yue’s blazing red, Xi Yue’s chilling silver-white, Bei Yue’s icy black, and Zhong Yue’s earth-yellow.
In an instant, the five colors blazed forth.
When Zhang Luofu clasped his hands together, forming the Five Peaks Seal, primordial qi surged, and the earth trembled violently.
Centered beneath Zhang Luofu’s feet, the Five Peaks True Form Diagram materialized in midair.
Five lifelike earth dragons erupted from the ground like lightning, lunging toward Zhang Lingyu with snarling fangs and claws.
