Chapter 23: Unprecedented Natural Magic! [Extra Chapter for New Book Ranking Boost]

~5 min read 961 words

"Red oak, with a bloodstained qilin scale, nine inches long! I've found many owners for it, but all ended in failure—the little thing is extremely picky."

Ollivander, sensing Chu Yang’s suspicious gaze, quickly explained: "Believe me, these scales weren’t shed naturally—harming a sacred creature like the qilin invites a curse!"

Chu Yang finally withdrew his scrutinizing gaze.

He took the wand box from Ollivander and pulled out the wand.

"This time, be gentle!" Ollivander urgently warned. "Don’t flip over my counter!"

"Rest assured, I’ll be gentle this time!" Chu Yang nodded firmly and carefully waved the wand.

The entire wand shop began to shake violently!

Ollivander and Sprout panicked, glancing around, fearing the shop might collapse.

Beams, pillars, even doorframes—all wooden objects—came alive, growing wildly, expanding uncontrollably, spreading even to neighboring shops.

Trees burst into new spring life; green vines and vegetation stretched outward.

Buds sprouted and rapidly bloomed into a vast, vibrant sea of flowers.

Dead wood instantly transformed into ancient, living timber, teeming with vitality.

The insane scene drew crowds from both sides of the street, who erupted in astonished murmurs.

Sprout stared wide-eyed; as a Herbology professor, she couldn’t comprehend what she was seeing: "Was that immense natural magic just now coming from Chu Yang?"

At this moment, the red oak wand with the qilin scale core emitted a warm red glow, enveloping Chu Yang—the hallmark of wand allegiance.

Ollivander stared in shock; he’d merely been testing, never expecting true success.

Chu Yang looked at the ruined shop around him and couldn’t care less about natural magic—he sighed bitterly: "I’ll compensate Itachi for all damages, Mr. Ollivander."

"No, no, no, child!" Ollivander caressed the wildly growing trees, his eyes gleaming. "These trees brim with powerful life force—perfect wand wood. Just these alone are more than enough!"

Ollivander pointed to the neighboring shop crushed by the trees and smiled: "Enough to cover their losses too!"

Chu Yang finally relaxed and pulled out the wand: "How many gold Galleons does this wand cost?"

Ollivander smiled: "This wand is enough. Take it. If it ever breaks, bring it back—I’ll repair it for free."

Chu Yang nodded in delight: "Thank Itachi, Mr. Ollivander."

Beside him, Sprout hurried over, scanning Chu Yang with disbelief—just now, that surge of magic had exceeded most adult wizards, yet it came from an eleven-year-old boy.

But that wasn’t the most shocking thing! What truly stunned Sprout was that she had never sensed magic carrying such astonishing vitality—so dense, so palpably natural.

Even her own meticulously tended herb garden had never given her this feeling.

Not just Sprout—even Chu Yang himself was startled! He’d guessed his magic might be slightly stronger than ordinary wizards, given his external advantage, but he never imagined it would manifest such strange traits.

After thinking it over, the only possible explanation was the Wood Release he inherited from Naruto Uzumaki. Every person’s constitution affects magic differently; kekkei genkai, deeply rooted in bloodline, would exert even greater influence on magic.

It seemed this was the only plausible explanation. Sprout stared at Chu Yang’s bewildered face, her questions bubbling up—but she couldn’t bring herself to ask.

He’s just a child—what could he possibly know?

Better to ask Professor Dumbledore after returning to school—he’s the one with vast knowledge.

Noticing the growing crowd outside, Sprout shielded Chu Yang and hurriedly led him out of the wand shop.

In the crowd, a little girl watched Chu Yang’s retreating back, her eyes filled with curiosity—until a nearby adult reminded her, and she reluctantly looked away.

Sprout rushed Chu Yang back to the Leaky Cauldron.

She was eager to inform Dumbledore of Chu Yang’s peculiarities.

"Chu Yang, I’m sorry, but I must leave now—here’s your ticket and your living allowance. Keep them safe!"

"Your accommodation fee is already paid—Itachi may stay until school opens. Remember, Itachi must board the train before eleven on September 1st."

Sprout placed a ticket and a pouch of gold Galleons into Chu Yang’s hands, then immediately cast Apparition and vanished before his eyes.

Chu Yang didn’t even have time to say a word...

"Professor Sprout really is in a hurry," Chu Yang muttered helplessly, then glanced at the ticket: "King’s Cross Station, Platform Nine and Three-Quarters—familiar enough."

"Good thing I know how to get there—otherwise it’d be a mess." Passing through the platform was a classic Harry Potter moment; Chu Yang remembered it clearly.

After Sprout left, Chu Yang went to Gringotts.

He wanted to exchange the pounds he’d earned from the thugs for gold Galleons.

He soon learned there were limits on exchanging pounds for Galleons. Hoping for a fortune, Chu Yang could only reluctantly take 200 gold Galleons.

"So robbing thugs is totally unprofitable—better to target Dark wizards instead." Chu Yang’s eyes gleamed with danger; after this embarrassing fiasco, his mood was at rock bottom.

After a full day out, Chu Yang returned to his room and refused to move.

He sat on the bed and began reading the books he’d just bought.

For the remainder of the time before term started, he would spend it with these books.

His first book was "A History of Magic" by Emeric Switch.

It was the best introduction for anyone unfamiliar with the magical world.

Thanks to sharing three of his own talents, Chu Yang had an exceptional memory—though not quite photographic, two or three readings were enough to fully memorize and understand the material.

Some could memorize quickly but couldn’t comprehend.

But Chu Yang, once he remembered, almost always understood completely.

Rapidly memorizing and comprehending book knowledge was an incredibly pleasurable experience—more satisfying than any other brain-stimulating pleasure in the world!
