The wand was pointed directly at the wooden table before them, and the table itself began to sprout branches and buds under the influence of magic.

The withered tree blooms again!

Dumbledore, who had witnessed it all, wore an expression of shock, murmuring: “Unbelievable—truly unbelievable. This vast surge of life energy feels as if nature itself is casting the spell.”

“Magic has always been perceived merely as pure energy.”

“Even among wizards, there are distinctions between white and dark wizards, and magic has rare exceptions like dark magic—but fundamentally, they are all just pure magic. This kind of magic, inherently possessing a specific quality, is something I have never encountered in my entire life!”

Dumbledore’s face lit up with the innocent, childlike joy of someone who had discovered a treasure.

By the time Chu Yang’s magic dissipated, a small tree had grown on the table, nearly brushing the ceiling, and vines below bore ivy and colorful little flowers.

The portraits on the walls could no longer contain themselves and began clamoring all at once.

“Astounding! This is a truly magnificent sight!”

“This shatters everything I thought I knew—this child produced such an astonishing effect without casting a single spell.”

“Dumbledore, grab him and study him! He might spark a great new era!”

Chu Yang slowly lifted his head and coldly glared at the portrait shouting to seize him.

【Phineas Nigellus Black】

The first Headmaster to graduate from Slytherin—and the most unpopular Headmaster in Hogwarts history!

He was also the great-great-grandfather of Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black.

In short… he was the most detestable of all the Headmaster portraits!

“Don’t say that, Headmaster Phineas,” Dumbledore adjusted his beard and wiped his glasses. “He is about to enter Slytherin—he is, in fact, your junior.”

“What?” Phineas erupted in fury!

The frame showed only a gaping, snarling mouth: “I will never allow a Mudblood child into the great House of Slytherin!”

Phineas had overheard Chu Yang and Dumbledore’s conversation and knew Chu Yang came from an orphanage.

As for Dumbledore’s later suggestion that Chu Yang might be the scion of some renowned Eastern wizarding family, Phineas dismissed it entirely.

He hadn’t used Legilimency on Chu Yang, so he naturally rejected Dumbledore’s opinion.

“Itachi’ve been dead for over sixty years—why are Itachi still clinging to that boring blood purity nonsense?” a female Headmaster sneered, her disdain clear.

Chu Yang glanced at her name.

【Doris Devonshire】

Before becoming one of Hogwarts’ most famous female Headmasters, she had been the Chief Healer at St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.

Doris became Headmaster long before Phineas, so when she spoke, Phineas usually fell silent.

When both portraits had quieted, Chu Yang finally asked: “Why was I sorted into Slytherin?”

Dumbledore fell silent for a moment, then said: “Slytherin is an excellent house, but its members hold certain views with excessive rigidity. As Headmaster, I cannot forcibly interfere with students’ beliefs.”

“The person who changes their thinking should be one of their own—another student.”

Chu Yang frowned: “Why me?”

Dumbledore explained: “The one who convinces them must be a wizard from a Muggle family—otherwise, it’s meaningless. But such wizards usually lack exceptional talent and cannot accomplish this. Itachi, however, possess extraordinary potential…”

Chu Yang was skeptical—he couldn’t shake the feeling that this seemingly kind old man was hiding a whole bag of tricks.

Suddenly, he remembered Dumbledore’s “Chosen One” plan for Harry Potter.

Damn, am I being used as a backup plan?

The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed—but under the current circumstances, he couldn’t easily refuse Dumbledore’s arrangement, especially since the promised compensation might vanish with it.

“Fine, Slytherin it is. But I have one thing to say upfront—if any of those classmates treat me poorly, I’ll strike back without hesitation. Don’t blame me when it happens!”

They're just a bunch of ungraduated dark wizard trainees—I've been fighting dark wizards since day one!

Dumbledore smiled wryly at Chu Yang’s ready-to-fight posture. “If Itachi feel your safety is threatened, of course Itachi may defend yourself—no problem at all. I guarantee it.”

“In that case, I am happy to join Slytherin House,” Chu Yang bowed slightly, then added: “And please remember our agreement.”

“I never break my word,” Dumbledore winked mischievously at Chu Yang, looking every bit the old trickster.

He then summoned a house-elf and said: “Please fetch Professor Snape.”

The elf vanished instantly from the Headmaster’s office.

Hearing Snape’s name, Chu Yang sighed inwardly.

If there was one most tragic figure in the Harry Potter world, it was him.

The girl he loved was stolen by the boy who bullied him daily, yet he still risked his life to protect their son.

Severus Snape’s deep love for Lily Evans inspired awe.

But it also evoked pity—and foolishness.

If Chu Yang were in Snape’s place, he wouldn’t hesitate—he’d find a way to kill James Potter first.

The humiliation of the “Headless Hanging” incident in fifth year shattered Snape’s life and drove him apart from his one true love, Lily Evans.

From Harry’s perspective, James Potter was a great father. From Sirius Black’s and other friends’ perspectives, James was a trustworthy companion.

But from an objective bystander’s view, they were just a bunch of bastards—far worse than Draco Malfoy.

So whether someone is good or evil depends entirely on your perspective.

About ten minutes later, Snape arrived late to deliver the new student to Slytherin. He first bowed respectfully to Dumbledore, then turned his cold gaze toward Chu Yang.

The astonishing display in the Great Hall still haunted Snape’s mind.

He remembered how Professor McGonagall had said the Sorting Hat couldn’t determine this child’s future—now Dumbledore had summoned him to the office. The reason was obvious.

Sure enough, Dumbledore spoke the next second: “Professor Snape, from today on, Chu Yang is a Slytherin student. Take him to his dormitory.”

Itachi’re putting an orphanage-raised wizard into Slytherin?

Snape could already imagine how miserable Chu Yang’s days ahead would be!
