Chapter 111: Yes, I

~5 min read 990 words

Because of past experience, Higurashi and the others had basically given up expecting any beauty or gentle personality from Gojo’s description of their new classmate.

And the facts proved their lack of expectation was correct—sometimes the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.

As the group arrived at the station to wait, an orange-haired girl was holding a fat man’s collar in one hand, demanding he sign a contract to make her a star.

The girl’s eccentric behavior quickly drew attention from passersby, including Shengzai and the others who had been waiting nearby since earlier.

The girl had shoulder-length orange hair, stood about one meter sixty tall, and was roughly the same age as Shengzai and the others; more importantly, she wore the same pure-black sorcerer uniform as them.

Clearly, this girl—holding a man’s collar and loudly declaring her ambition to become a celebrity—was precisely the new classmate Gojo had described as having a “gentle” personality.

“Nail Qi Nozomi?”

Though the orange-haired girl’s actions had drawn stares from bystanders, Gojo still approached with Shengzai and the others once he realized she was their intended contact.

Upon hearing her name called, the girl turned to look at Shengzai and the others; when she saw their uniforms, she immediately understood they were from Tokyo Jujutsu High.

“I don’t need to introduce myself, but these few are the new students entering this year with you.”

As Gojo spoke, he stepped aside, giving the new students space to get to know each other.

But before Higurashi could introduce himself, Nail Qi Nozomi, still gripping the fat man’s collar with one hand, raised the other to cut him off: “I know you’re from Jujutsu High, but I’ve already decided to change careers.”

“True, I originally transferred to Tokyo Jujutsu High because I was drawn to life in this big city and wanted to become a sorcerer.”

“But just now, this talent scout said I had potential to become a star, so he offered me a contract to launch me into fame.”

“So I’ve changed my mind—I’m switching careers. Being a sorcerer is far too dangerous, and the pay doesn’t even compare.”

Before Shengzai and the others could respond, the fat man dangling by his collar shouted desperately: “Help me! I don’t even know this crazy woman—I never said I’d make her a star!”

“I’m just a regular office worker—how could I possibly be some legendary talent scout?”

No sooner had the man finished than Nail Qi ’s face darkened: “What?! That’s not what you told me just now! Are you trying to deceive a lady?!”

Hearing their exchange, Shengzai and the others—except the dim-witted Higurashi—had already pieced together what had happened.

As Nail Qi pulled out a heart-shaped hammer and prepared to physically exterminate the man, Shengzai reached out to stop her.

“Your actions have drawn attention from many bystanders. Even if you want to punish him, you can’t do it this way—it’s illegal.”

“Even if the police arrive, all he’s done is deceive you—he hasn’t caused any property damage. But if you physically harm him, you’ll be the one going to jail.”

Hearing Shengzai’s words, Nail Qi Nozomi scowled at the smug fat man: “So we just let him go?”

“I saw him on the train just now—he used his fake talent scout identity to trick several girls, collected their contact info, and even groped them!”

Hearing Nail Qi ’s words, Shengzai and the others understood why she was so determined to confront him.

It wasn’t that Nail Qi Nozomi was stupid enough to believe he could make her a star—she’d simply used the opportunity to teach him a lesson.

“Oh, so he’s a repeat offender? That makes it easy. People like him usually keep incriminating photos on their phones. A simple police report will land him in jail for sure.”

Higurashi, slow to catch on, finally understood the situation after Fukuroi’s explanation; his gaze toward the lecherous fat man turned full of contempt.

And upon hearing Shengzai’s suggestion, he swiftly snatched the man’s phone from him.

“Don’t touch my phone! This is robbery! Do you even know what robbery is?!”

Decrypting a regular phone password was child’s play for a sorcerer; when the lecherous man’s photo gallery opened, a flood of explicit images filled Shengzai and the others’ view.

“Wow, so you’re not just a fake talent scout—you’re also a train pervert? That makes the evidence even stronger.”

After seeing the “achievements” in the man’s photo gallery, Shengzai immediately dialed the police.

When the call connected, he spoke with polite formality: “Hello, my name is XXXX, I’m a seasoned train pervert, currently at Tokyo Station No. 2.”

“This phone contains abundant evidence of my crimes. Could you please come quickly to arrest me?”

The police initially thought it was a prank—but when they checked the phone number’s registered owner, they confirmed the caller’s identity matched the number.

They’d seen people turn themselves in, but never one who called to report himself—this was new even to the operator.

When Tokyo police arrived at Station No. 2, they indeed found a lecherous fat man tied to a roadside railing, a phone hanging from his neck as evidence.

As the lecherous man was led away by the police, the five people—four boys and one girl—watching from afar each smiled.

“Thanks so much for helping me just now. I’m Nail Qi Nozomi—I transferred here from a remote rural area to Tokyo Jujutsu High, as you know.”

“Fukuroi Megumi.” Fukuroi gave his usual terse introduction.

“I’m Higurashi Yujin—I just arrived in Tokyo too.”

Though Nail Qi ’s personality was nothing like Gojo’s description of “gentle,” her act of standing up for others had earned Higurashi’s admiration.

After hearing Higurashi and Fukuroi’s introductions, Nail Qi turned to the last person who hadn’t spoken: “And you? What’s your name?”

“Thanks again for helping me just now. You’re about our age, but you handled that situation so smoothly.”
