Chapter 471

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for waiting. The beautiful and dreamy festival of girls and Pokémon, the Anistar City Pokémon Showcase, is about to begin."

"I am the dreamy guide of love, Mr. Pierre."

"Performers who aspire to become the Kalos Queen worshipped by girls will bring wonderful and gorgeous performances."

"And the winner will be able to obtain this Princess Key."

Accompanied by the appearance of the Pokémon Showcase host, the audience at the scene cheered instantly.

And soon, Pierre also began to announce the theme performance project for this Pokémon Showcase.

Different from the Pokémon Contests in the Hoenn region, the two stages of the Kalos region's Pokémon Showcase, the Preliminary Round and the Final Round, are Theme Performance and Free Performance, respectively.

And only Performers who successfully advance in the Theme Performance can enter the second stage, the Free Performance.

And the "Theme Performance" of the Pokémon Showcase is different every time. This time, the theme performance for the Anistar City Showcase is "Pokémon Quiz."

The host will let three Performers appear each time and propose riddles about Pokémon.

And the Performers' Pokémon need to complete certain conditions to obtain the right to answer. The Performer who can correctly answer three riddles first will successfully advance to the second round, "Free Performance."

"As a Kalos Queen, having a beautiful appearance is not enough; having knowledge is also very important."

"Beauty and wisdom, both must be possessed. Then, first, let me invite the first group of elegant Performers to the stage!"

Accompanied by host Pierre announcing the start of the competition, the first group of Pokémon Showcase contestants also slowly rose from the lift platform.

And among these three, there were Serena, Nini, and another girl Performer.

"The test this time is the 'Rock Test.' After the computer proposes a Pokémon riddle, the Performers' Pokémon must destroy the three giant rocks in front of them, take out the ball from them, and then rush to the finish line to obtain the right to answer."

"The Pokémon that reaches the finish line first gives its Performer the right to answer, and if the answer is wrong, the second Performer will make a supplementary answer."

Diantha in the waiting area, listening to the rules announced by host Pierre, also showed an interested expression on her face.

Compared to Pokémon Coordinators, Pokémon Performers actually don't have high requirements for Pokémon strength, but the test of this theme performance clearly has certain requirements for the level and quality of the Pokémon.

Wanting to break the rocks first tests the power of the Pokémon's moves, and wanting to reach the finish line first tests the speed of the Pokémon.

Finally, correctly answering the Pokémon quiz requires looking at the knowledge reserve of the Performers. This is indeed a test that requires Pokémon and trainers to work together to pass.

"Then, first is the first question: Eevee has many evolutionary forms, so may I ask, what is the Fairy-type evolutionary form of Eevee?"

Accompanied by the first Pokémon riddle announced on the big screen, the Pokémon of the three people on the stage, Serena and the others, also rushed toward the rocks at the same time.

Facing the giant rock two meters high, wanting to smash it, using Steel-type moves is actually the fastest.

But it is a pity that the three Pokémon on the stage were Serena's Eevee, Nini's Farfetch'd, and another contestant's Solrock.

Eevee didn't learn Steel-type moves like "Iron Tail," so it could only keep using Shadow Ball, but in the end, Farfetch'd's "Slash" broke the rock first.

Eevee, which reached the finish line second, was much slower than Farfetch'd in breaking the rock, but it caught up in the speed of rushing to the finish line, but in the end, it was still a hair's breadth slower than Farfetch'd, so it was looking at Serena with a guilty expression now.

"It's okay, Eevee, you've worked very hard, and the competition has just begun; we definitely won't lose."

"Bui~!"

Facing Serena's encouragement, Eevee also quickly regained its energy, and thinking of the promise with its brother, Eevee was full of fighting spirit again.

"Farfetch'd reached the finish line first, so contestant Nini obtained the right to answer first."

"May I ask, which Pokémon is the Fairy-type Eevee?"

Although Nini obtained the priority to answer, looking at her hesitant expression, she clearly didn't have much confidence in the answer in her heart.

"That... is it Espeon?"

"It's a pity, Espeon is Psychic-type. Then, contestant Serena, who reached the finish line second, please make a supplementary answer to this question."

If it were other questions, Serena might have thought about it, but for this question, Serena gave the answer almost without hesitation.

"It's Sylveon!"

Serena decided to become a Pokémon Performer not only because of the influence of Aria and Braixen; the Sylveon she saw on TV at the time also made her yearn for it.

"Correct answer, congratulations to contestant Serena for taking the first point first!"

After successfully taking the first point, the fighting spirit of Serena and Eevee was completely ignited. Although Eevee, which only knew Shadow Ball, couldn't compare to Farfetch'd in the speed of breaking the rocks, it could always complete a counter-chase in the return sprint.

And after several rounds of fierce confrontation, Serena eventually answered three questions correctly first and advanced to the second round of Free Performance.

"Thank you very much for the wonderful performances of the several Performer girls in the first group just now, as well as their Pokémon."

"Then, next, I invite the second group of Performers and their Pokémon to appear."

At first, the audience at the Anistar City Showcase also applauded and cheered for the contestants on stage to set off the atmosphere.

However, when many of the audience at the scene saw a certain figure among the contestants in the second group, the audience at the Anistar City Showcase was stunned for a moment, and then they realized and confirmed that they hadn't seen it wrong, and they issued unprecedented cheers!

"I didn't see it wrong, right? The person standing in the middle is actually Ms. Diantha?"

Like the girls in the waiting area before, when Ash and the others and other audience members saw Diantha on stage clearly, everyone's expressions were stunned.

Even Palermo, the "Kalos Queen" sitting in the audience, couldn't help but reach out and cover her face when she saw Diantha waving to respond to the cheers on stage: "That guy is acting on her own whims again."

Although they are in different fields, Palermo, the "Kalos Queen" who holds the highest honor of the Pokémon Showcase, clearly knows Diantha, the League Champion, and the two even have a pretty good relationship.

For Diantha, a League Champion, to suddenly jump over to the Pokémon Showcase side, Palermo is clearly also quite troubled.

As the most excellent Performer in Kalos, Palermo originally wanted to discover some children with excellent talent at the Anistar City Showcase, but who knew that Diantha, this troublemaker, would suddenly appear.
