Chapter 49: The Collision Between Super-Popular Actors?

~6 min read 1,009 words

Shengzai paid little attention to the reactions around him, smiled and nodded, then found an unremarkable seat and sat down.

There was no help for it; since debuting as a child star, Shengzai had gradually grown accustomed to such environments.

At first he truly found it uncomfortable, but once he got used to it, it wasn’t so bad after all.

In contrast to Shengzai’s calm composure, Hoshino Rubi was clearly much more flustered.

In her past life, she had been an ordinary girl who entered the Performing Arts Department with the goal of becoming an idol.

But when she actually stepped into the classroom, the sight of nothing but beautiful girls and handsome boys only intensified her pressure.

Especially since many of her classmates were people she recognized—clearly already debuted, whom she had seen on TV or in magazines.

Yet soon, Rubi gently patted her own cheeks, silently encouraging herself.

Even if all her classmates were gorgeous, she, inheriting her mother’s beauty, wouldn’t be outshone by anyone—what she lacked right now was merely an opportunity!

Just as Rubi was psyching herself up with mental victory tactics, she noticed a striking pink-haired girl beside her staring fixedly at her.

The reason the girl was so remarkable was that though they were all first-year high schoolers, the girl possessed a figure that utterly dwarfed her peers.

Sensing that staring so intently at someone’s face was impolite, the pink-haired girl quickly apologized: “I’m truly sorry for staring at you so long—your face is just too beautiful.”

“And since you came in with that Wen Shengzai, I just… Oh, by the way, my name is Kotohama Minami, please take care of me. The Performing Arts Department really is full of hidden talents.”

Being complimented on her beauty made Rubi slightly shy, then she picked up her phone and immediately began searching right in front of the girl…

“Wow, you’re a photo model? And a G? So sexy!”

Seeing Rubi’s unorthodox move—searching for her right in front of her face—Kotohama Minami flushed crimson and frantically tried to stop Rubi’s inhumane behavior.

“I’m just a new model who’s barely started out—I can’t compare with those big names.”

As Kotohama Minami spoke, she secretly glanced toward Shengzai, who sat in another corner.

Because of Shengzai’s earlier approachable demeanor, a crowd of students had already gathered beside his seat, eager to strike up a conversation.

“You mean Shengzai? He’s truly different.”

“But he debuted as a child star—though he’s the same age, his experience and seniority are on a completely different level from ours. Comparing him to us makes no sense.”

“By the way, I’m Hoshino Rubi—you can just call me Rubi. Please take care of me.”

After saying this, Rubi’s spirits sank further; Kotohama Minami and others might be far ahead of Shengzai, but at least they were insiders.

As for Hoshino Rubi, she had only signed with Berry Production a few days ago and hadn’t done any work yet. Though she aimed to be an idol, she was currently nothing more than a “self-proclaimed idol.”

“You’re calling Wen-kun by his first name, and you came in together—does that mean…?”

“No, no, no, you’re imagining things. I just met Shengzai today.”

“We only came together because we both happened to know the same upperclassman.”

“But you, Kotohama… you’ve been fixated on Shengzai’s name since earlier—are you his fan?”

To Rubi’s question, the seemingly shy Kotohama Minami didn’t deny it—instead, she nodded excitedly: “Not just me—everyone in my family is a fan of Wen-kun.”

“I never imagined I’d be in the same class as him—it’s unbelievable.”

Seeing Kotohama Minami’s excited expression, Rubi didn’t find it strange at all; after all, insiders had their own idols too.

For a fan, being in the same class as their idol was indeed an incredibly exciting and joyful thing.

Kotohama Minami’s current state seemed perfectly normal to Rubi.

If her past self had suddenly become classmates—or even friends—with Hoshino Ai, she’d probably have been even more ecstatic than Kotohama Minami.

“Well, even though we’re all in the Performing Arts Department, the other students must be pretty ordinary compared to someone like Shengzai?”

Watching Shengzai surrounded by students asking him questions, Rubi suddenly felt these debuted classmates weren’t so different from her after all.

“That’s not quite true—this year’s class is extraordinary. Besides Wen-kun, there’s another super-popular actor…”

“Shiranui Jasmine? She’s in our class too? I thought she was just someone with the same name!”

“Wen Shengzai and Shiranui Jasmine—the two hottest young actors right now—are both in our class!”

Before Kotohama Minami could finish speaking, the exclamations from nearby drew their attention.

When they turned to look, they saw a super-beautiful girl with long deep-green hair and beauty marks beside her mouth and eyes, striding into the classroom with elegant poise.

In an instant, her presence captured every eye—even Rubi and Kotohama Minami, both women themselves, were no exception.

Shiranui Jasmine, the teenage actress who rose to fame starring in the Monday 9 PM drama, possessed immense popularity.

Not only had she achieved remarkable success as an actress, but she had also excelled in commercials, singing, and other fields—a truly dedicated and accomplished multi-talented artist.

Without exaggeration, compared to the other students in class, who barely scraped by as eighteenth-tier talents, Shiranui Jasmine was already a top-tier presence.

Among her peers, her accomplishments were ones others could only look up to.

Watching Shiranui Jasmine, radiating an air of noble aloofness, Rubi, Kotohama Minami, and everyone else in the class lowered their voices.

Shiranui Jasmine, upon entering the classroom, seemed displeased with the atmosphere around her.

When she spotted Shengzai sitting in the corner, she appeared genuinely surprised, then after a brief hesitation, walked straight toward his seat without hesitation.

Probably because Shiranui Jasmine’s aura was so overwhelming, all those who had just been crowding around Shengzai now automatically stepped away.

Clearly, they understood: birds of a feather flock together. In this year’s Class F, the only person who could possibly be friends with Shiranui Jasmine was Wen Shengzai.
