Chapter 1779: Happy New Year!!!

~8 min read 1,531 words

Happy New Year!!!

2025 is a somewhat special year.

I entered a new environment, stepped into a new life, started new hobbies, learned new knowledge, and set foot in fields I had never touched before.

This year was generally not smooth, but the overall results were good.

As the year draws to a close, I wanted to write a grand summary of a wonderful life, but after thinking about it, my mind was actually blank.

Don't panic; it's normal.

As I grow older, my memory is almost non-existent; I can forget what I just said the moment I turn around.

My energy isn't enough either; ten years ago I could write all night, but now doing anything late at night makes my head spin.

But if I don't say something, it seems like my brain is truly flat!!!

Damn it, I wanted to build a persona of someone wise!

So I thought about any profound reading insights.

———None.

Sigh! My brain, it's empty!

But actually, most of the time, reading doesn't give us the most direct insights, but by accepting more knowledge, when I am touched, I will know what it is that touches me.

This year, I realized that my thinking and knowledge are really shallow.

My hometown is a hilly city in the plains, belonging to the Central Plains, and it is also a place contested by military strategists; it can be said to be a confluence of north and south, very versatile in its integration.

But my old home is in a mountain village in a mountain col. I always thought that all villages and towns in the world were like this.

It wasn't until I went to a friend's house the year before last that I realized that villages and villages, towns and towns, are absolutely not the same.

She told me she was going back to her village to live, so I brought a lot of daily necessities, but when I got to the town, I found that the hotel there was the same standard as the mid-to-high-end hotels in my 18th-tier small city.

The town had Snow King, had Luckin, had crowds of people, and was prosperous and bustling.

And my town, in my memory, required going up and down eighteen bends; I lived at school in junior high, and had to walk for two hours to get home every week. The town had several small supermarkets, daily grocery stores, breakfast shops...

In short, a lot of rambling, the core is that our township is quite poor.

And such poor mountains and waters produce one of the top ten famous teas, Xinyang Fresh Maojian.

Tan Tan's tea business inspiration was born from this.

I hate picking tea more than anything in my life.

The dew is very heavy; you have to wet your pants and shoes, and pick the Fresh Maojian bit by bit with wet hands.

In the tea fields, there are snakes, insects, rats, and ants, wild rabbits and pheasants, and nests of bugs, small spiders... I have told everyone a few times that I didn't have any toys when I was a child, and my father caught centipedes and broke their fangs for me to play with, and I played happily.

But this was picking spring tea; although it was hard, the temperature wasn't too high, and the price was higher, so there was always some strength.

By the scorching summer, I would get up at 4:30 in the morning and head straight to the hillside, and I would be scorched by the sun before going home for breakfast.

In the evening, I would go into the mosquito pile again, continue to endure the high temperature, and wouldn't be willing to leave until it was completely dark at eight o'clock.

I am not a diligent person, nor am I very good at working, so my tea-picking results were truly not worth mentioning.

But I remember that in the summer of my first year of high school, in the early 2000s, I sold my long hair for 80 yuan, and then went to pick tea to sell—

Fresh Fresh Maojian, eight yuan a jin.

Eight yuan.

One jin.

Fresh Maojian is not heavy; most skilled workers work for five or six hours in the morning and only get a little over a jin.

That is to say, working hard for half a day, earning ten yuan or so.

From before Qingming, to May Day, to the whole summer vacation, and even to October 1st—oh, maybe not picking tea on October 1st, but before October 1st, I had to pick chestnut burrs in the tea forest, with mosquitoes and bugs buzzing, my face red, my body covered in bumps, and my hands blistered, holding fire tongs to pick chestnut burrs.

In short, summer vacation was my most hated holiday because I had to work every day, it was too hard. (Actually, because my parents loved and indulged me, I was considered one of those who worked less.)

And it was such Xinyang Fresh Maojian that, after I entered society, the market got better year by year. Like the few mu of tea mountains in my family, the most profitable spring tea, in the month of Qingming, my parents picked tea together and could earn more than 10,000 yuan.

Of course, after the first harvest of spring tea, the price would plummet, which I won't detail here.

In recent years, local big tea merchants invested hundreds of millions to build a tea village (I am not calling on everyone to travel; I personally think the tourism culture here is not built very successfully, and there is still much room for improvement. It's okay to drive nearby to play, and the mountains and waters have characteristics, but I don't recommend coming from afar, because the scenery to see is too scattered and fragmented, and aerial photography is more beautiful than looking closely).

When I went home, the driver would say happily: 【Have you been to the tea mountain?】

I have no emotional intelligence, so I complained: 【Sigh, I see the tea mountain every day since I was a child, why go to the crowd to join the fun? Why invest so much to build a tea village?】

The driver also laughed: 【It's a scenic spot after all, don't wait for the holidays, just go for a stroll on the way, it's okay.】

I always thought this kind of investment was like those pedestrian bridges in the city that don't block wind or rain, don't block sun or heat, and are full of glare at night, purely because someone had money and wanted to toss it around.

It wasn't until I went back and talked to my mother about this that she chatted very casually:

【Thanks to his investment in branding, our tea prices can be higher, and we can earn 20,000 or 30,000 yuan a year. Otherwise, it would be like before, earning only a few thousand yuan in a whole summer, not even enough to eat and drink.】

This was just a casual chat, but it's hard to describe my silence.

At that moment, I really felt that I was exceptionally shallow (although I still haven't understood the colorful glare bridge in the city).

But I am also glad, because I have to write, and I am afraid of being laughed at if I write something wrong (ten years ago, misusing the phrase 【Heaven and Earth are not benevolent, treating all things as straw dogs】, it is really shameful to think about it), so I have been checking information, watching videos, and reading books...

I wrote some silly robots and was popularized by readers about the difference between hackers and crackers.

I wrote about disasters and was popularized by readers about various technological devices during disasters.

I wrote about anti-drug efforts and was popularized about 【The Sword of China】.

I wrote about immortality, the era, the end of the world, the supernatural... writing as I please, full of passion.

Writing 【Song Tan's Notes】, those farm works that I knew the 'what' but not the 'why', the memories of the past, what I saw, heard, and did, followed by the popularization of CCTV Agriculture, have gradually been enriched.

Next is the ancient times, 【Qin Dynasty Notes】.

The background is based on the Qin and Han dynasties. Sometimes even quoting a sentence requires checking whether it exceeds the era background. The progress is very slow, but because I was forced to check a lot of information and listen to a lot of lectures, it can be said that writing this book actually reshaped my understanding of ancient civilization and history—although I can't remember much.

But, I still love every character in my pen.

Now, 2025 has passed.

2026, I wish we can all see our own lighthouse and see our own direction clearly.

I wish everyone happiness, health, eternal joy, and to earn more money.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year (?????)!!!!

?? Rambled a lot, fortunately, the point was made at the end!!! (Wiping sweat) The same sentiment for the Qin Dynasty next door is posted again, no need to click twice! ===== CHAPTER 1787 =====
