Chapter 818: Initial signs of an elite force, simply incredible!

Entering the battalion headquarters, greetings rang out one after another.

Of course, confusion and curiosity were also unavoidable.

The Battalion Commander had disappeared for just one week, and a Major had become a Lieutenant Colonel?

"The Battalion Commander has been promoted, why wasn't there even a whisper of it?"

"A Lieutenant Colonel Battalion Commander—does our Group Army even have one?"

"Not just the Group Army, it's a rare existence in the entire military!"

Well, the situation of a high-ranking officer in a low-ranking position was not uncommon.

But one had to distinguish the nature of the unit.

In the sequence of field combat units, a Lieutenant Colonel serving concurrently as a Battalion Commander was very rare.

However, in some special types of units, it was quite common.

For example, the Langya: Lieutenant Colonel Squadron Leaders, or Lieutenant Colonels serving as Battalion Commanders.

Like Gao Dazhuang, Long Xiaoyun, Fan Tianlei, and others.

There was no help for it; the establishment of special forces was too small...

Amidst the whispers, Lin Feng went up to the third floor and happened to bump into Yu Zheng coming out of the office.

"Holy crap, Old Lin, what's your situation?"

"Getting a promotion and a raise, isn't that normal?"

While talking, Lin Feng entered the Battalion Commander's office, with Yu Zheng following close behind.

Sitting in the office chair, Lin Feng smiled and shook his head.

"Old Yu, I know you have many questions and doubts."

"However, the situation is special, I can't explain it, you need to keep it confidential, understand?"

Hearing this, Yu Zheng shrugged: "Understood, I even saw it on the news."

"Fine, I won't ask, just one thing: will there be any changes to your current position?"

Lin Feng understood in a second: "No, at least not for the time being."

"Haha, then I'm relieved!"

Yu Zheng laughed: "The First Battalion is in great shape now, and our comprehensive combat effectiveness is steadily climbing."

"If your tenure ends, I won't be able to hold this fort down."

"Even if a new Battalion Commander comes, it's impossible for them to conduct training like you do."

"Setting aside the support from superiors, just the interference from the local government alone—"

"Not many people would be able to withstand it or keep it under control!"

This was the truth, without any flattery.

To this, Lin Feng smiled slightly: "During this period, have there been any changes or problems in the battalion?"

Facing the inquiry, Yu Zheng thought for a moment and said: "The training mode is becoming more and more proficient."

"The current probability of injuries is getting smaller and smaller, and it's becoming safer."

"With rich combat experience, the combat mode naturally changes again and again."

"The AB Group has now developed to the point of—"

"Reconnaissance before the enemy, mobilization before the enemy, and interception before the enemy."

"It's no longer just about conventional defense and fierce frontal assaults."

"The two sides went from the initial four-hour engagement—"

"To now needing eight hours, and when things get intense, even a whole day..."

Yu Zheng continued to elaborate, and Lin Feng kept nodding.

Without a doubt, there was no discrepancy from what he had expected.

Real combat is the best tactical teacher.
