Chapter 12

The level of heated discussion in the replies below the post was beyond imagination.

"Contracting two wild spirit plants at once? Is the OP joking?"

"Are there pictures? Is there proof? No pictures, treat it as fake news."

"Is that a Spirit Plant Master? That's a spirit plant reincarnation! Pictures? +1. I want to see a real-life photo of the spirit plant reincarnation."

"?????? The person above is a bit off."

"Where's the person involved? Whoever contracted the wild spirit plants, come out and say something."

Below this reply, someone commented, "I contracted the wild spirit plants, V me 50, and I'll post the pictures online."

But this comment was immediately flagged as fake news.

"What kind of spirit plants were contracted? Is it possible the research institute will launch new stable contract spirit plants this time?"

The OP replied.

"I have first-hand news from the registration center; that Spirit Plant Master just registered less than two hours ago!"

"I don't know what the situation is over at the research institute; can someone give a hint?"

Don't say that, a researcher actually popped up.

The forum name was quite explosive: "Lu Mouren I am single-mindedly towards the south."

"Sigh, it's simply unspeakable. I've worked so hard researching all these years, going to find wild spirit plants to contract every week, wishing I could enter the recuperation pod every week, and I still can't keep up with a 16-year-old girl! Why didn't any wild spirit plants take a fancy to me!"

That sense of resentment almost spilled off the screen.

This person had real-name verification on the forum, and their identity was a Level 3 researcher at the Jinggang Spirit Plant Research Institute.

The one posting the complaint was none other than Lu Nan, the first person to discover the abnormal spirit power fluctuations at the Blue Star Botanical Garden.

At this moment, he was standing on the lake island, bored, following his teacher, Professor Luo Wan, to detect the surrounding spirit power data.

He knew a bit more, but due to the confidentiality regulations of the Spirit Plant Research Institute, he could only babble about this and that on the forum before official information was released.

Ge Bai flipped through a dozen pages without seeing anything substantial, silently exited the post, and wiped the sweat from her brow.

These people were truly crazy.

She still hadn't personally felt how special it was to be able to contract a wild spirit plant.

Actually, it wasn't Ge Bai's fault; most children her age had their eyes fixed on pet beasts, and their dreams were all to become Beast Masters.

Just like when Ge Bai was a child in her previous life, when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, everyone would answer in unison: "A scientist!"

Beast Masters were much more reliable than scientists; after all, there was a 50% success rate, and even now, Beast Masters were the mainstream of this interstellar society.

The other 50%, the Spirit Plant Masters, were still too weak and too marginalized.

But within the Spirit Plant Master circle, contracting a wild spirit plant often meant the emergence of a new spirit plant variety or a new spirit plant evolution path.

Ge Bai left the spam post and searched for Weeping Willow in the forum, but the information that popped up was pitifully scarce.

Currently, the spirit plant gardens in Jinggang City, Hangzhou City, and Yenan City all had stable Weeping Willow seedlings available for selection, but the contract volume was not high.

Most Spirit Plant Masters still cultivated Weeping Willow as an ornamental spirit plant.

Ge Bai looked up at her own Da Liu; the branches were thick and lustrous, the willow threads hung finely, and the willow leaves were tender yellow. Da Liu was actually quite good-looking when quiet.

Sure enough, it was her own kid; the more she looked, the more she liked it.

Not only good-looking, but also powerful! Ge Bai looked up to check Da Liu's training progress.

When they first started practicing, it took Da Liu nearly a minute to complete one spirit power mobilization and swing the Willow Whip.

After more than half an hour of practice, it gradually mastered the trajectory of spirit power operation, and the speed and efficiency of swinging the Willow Whip improved linearly.

Now, it only took 30-plus seconds to complete one Willow Whip.

The skill bar value had also changed to: Willow Whip - Entry (46/100).

It seemed that in less than two hours, Da Liu's Willow Whip would be able to cross from Entry to Proficient; second-speed Willow Whip was just around the corner.

Ge Bai got up, took a nutrient solution from her bag, and walked to Da Liu's side.

"Da Liu, want to rest for a while?"

Da Liu shook its head and gathered strength to launch another Willow Whip in a direction away from Ge Bai.

After getting close to Da Liu, Ge Bai could more truly feel the force of the Willow Whip breaking through the air.

She didn't force it, instead opening the cap of the nutrient solution and placing it against Da Liu's roots. "Remember to drink it yourself when you're tired."

Immediately, Ge Bai returned to the stone and continued searching for information on the forum.

Generally speaking, there were two dimensions for evaluating spirit beasts that had entered the battle beast stage or auxiliary spirit plants with offensive capabilities.

One was the level of the spirit beast or spirit plant, looking at the concentration of spirit power contained within its body.

The method to increase its spirit power concentration was also very simple.

Beast Masters and Spirit Plant Masters helped the spirit plant mobilize the spirit power in its body, following the meditation method to drive the spirit power to circulate; during the circulation process, the spirit power would naturally increase.

After practicing skills or consuming spirit power in battles, the efficiency of spirit power increase during the recovery process was higher.

Of course, nutrient solutions, special attribute auxiliary spirit stones, and spirit talismans could all help spirit beasts and spirit plants increase their spirit power levels.

Whether it was a spirit beast or a spirit plant, they were divided into levels according to a unified spirit power scale: zero to first tier was divided into ten levels, and first to second tier was also divided into ten levels.

But the further one went, the more spirit power was needed for advancement.

Currently, the system showed that Da Liu's level was Spirit Power Value: Zero Tier Second Level (31/200).

Many Beast Masters and Spirit Plant Masters spent huge costs to pile up the spirit power levels of their spirit beasts and spirit plants, but they were just empty shells.

The other evaluation dimension was the variety and proficiency of the spirit beast or spirit plant's skills.

Like the "Star Beast League" that was popular across the interstellar space, the pet beast levels of the Beast Masters in the final round were basically at the third tier high level; there was no big gap in spirit power values, but the gap in pet beast skills was too large.

If the pet beast's skill proficiency was high and it had mastered many skills, there were cases of winning against opponents across tiers.

The contestant Luleikesi was upset and eliminated by an opponent in his early years due to pet beast skill reasons; later, he paid special attention to training pet beast skills and combination skills, which led to his dazzling grand slam achievements.

Skill proficiency was also very important, divided into four stages: Entry, Proficient, Mastery, and Esoteric; many high-tier skills required low-tier skills to reach the Esoteric stage to even get a glimpse of the threshold.

It was not easy for pet beasts and spirit plants to learn a skill; even for innate skills, they needed a sudden enlightenment before they could master them.

Generally, it was very normal for a primary skill to take several weeks to go from Entry to Proficient.

The most commendable point of excellent Beast Masters and Spirit Plant Masters was their ability to help their partners quickly master more and higher-tier skills.

So, Ge Bai was very satisfied with Da Liu's training efficiency.

Ding! System prompt sound.

"Weeping Willow, skill Willow Whip leveled up, proficiency: Willow Whip - Proficient (1/200)."

Ge Bai was overjoyed; it had only been a little over an hour.

Da Liu now only needed sixteen or seventeen seconds from gathering strength to swinging the Willow Whip; the speed of progress was visible to the naked eye.

Patting the dirt off her body, Ge Bai got up and walked to Da Liu's side, directly picking up the nutrient solution and patting it to signal it to take a break.

Da Liu didn't refuse; it was indeed tired after practicing for a while, so it inserted its roots into the nutrient solution and drank a big gulp. The nutrient solution disappeared by 1/3 instantly. At the same time, Ge Bai also pressed her hand on Da Liu's trunk, probing her spirit power inside to sense the changes in its spirit power; sure enough, it was much denser.

The Spirit Plant Cultivation Manual showed 【Spirit Power Value: Zero Tier Second Level (142/200)】.

Progress was really fast, and the nutrient solution was consumed quickly too.

Ge Bai had a headache; normal spirit plants only used one bottle of nutrient solution a week, but at Da Liu's rate of practice, it would need at least one bottle a day to keep up with the consumption.

But she couldn't stop Da Liu from practicing just because the nutrient solution was consumed quickly.

You have to know, other people's spirit beasts and spirit plants wouldn't even move if you coaxed them.

She couldn't be ungrateful for her good fortune.

Just as Ge Bai was pondering, Da Liu looked up at her.

"Bai Bai, I feel like I'm much more proficient at using the Willow Whip now than before."

Ge Bai nodded.

"Your Willow Whip has already crossed from Entry into the Proficient stage, but you still have to keep working hard."

"Entry, Proficient, Mastery, Esoteric; in the end, you should be able to achieve second-speed Willow Whip or even multiple Willow Whips at the same time."

Ge Bai explained patiently to Da Liu.

Da Liu silently gathered its strength, preparing to continue practicing the Willow Whip.

"Come on, Da Liu, let's learn a new skill."
