Chapter 83: The House-Owning Clan

~7 min read 1,329 words

All right, Ge Bai, congratulations on winning your three matches today.

From arriving at the arena to finishing three matches, it's been just over an hour; efficiency is not bad.

Before leaving, Ge Bai didn't forget to say hello to Lika and Peach Blossom Jellyfish.

I won't watch the subsequent matches; today there's something very important: picking wind-system resources for Da Liu.

Who would have thought, just as Ge Bai walked out of the arena, his mobile terminal rang; he pulled it out and saw it was Liu Hao.

Ge Bai answered quickly.

"Bai Bai, are you done for today? How did the arena matches go? I've picked out a house—go take a look."

Liu Hao got straight to the point.

"Did you install surveillance on me? I just finished the matches; I happen to be free now."

Ge Bai made a joke.

Liu Hao laughed on the other end of the line, not saying much more.

Liu Hao always puts Ge Bai's matters first.

Last night, after several people split up behind the welfare institute, he immediately started working overtime to look for housing.

This morning he ran through several residential complexes, carefully screening, and actually found two units that met Ge Bai's requirements, with good cost-performance.

Liu Hao knew Ge Bai had arena matches in the afternoon, and feared that calling out of the blue might affect his performance.

He kept one eye on work while quietly streaming the Jinggang City arena qualifiers, and only called after seeing Ge Bai finish his three matches.

But there was no need to let Ge Bai know about all this.

"As long as you have time. I've picked two places, both not far from Jinggang No. 1 Middle School; I'll wait for you at the complex entrance, and I've sent the location to your mobile terminal."

"Okay, I'll be there right away."

Ge Bai, familiar with the route, came to the Eagle Travel Falcon 'Eagle Post' stop, hailed an Eagle Travel Falcon, and Eagle Post is indeed much faster than the bus.

She did this not to make Liu Hao wait; it cannot be said that her standard of living has gone from frugal to extravagant.

By the time Ge Bai rushed to the spot Liu Hao gave her, Liu Hao was already standing at the complex entrance.

Seeing her get off the Yingyousun, he smiled and waved.

"You must have been waiting a while; I've already tried my best not to waste time."

"No, come on, I'll take you inside; the first place is right here."

Ge Bai followed Liu Hao into the complex.

At the gate, security measures were very tight, even including a spirit-power detection device.

"The property management of this complex does an excellent job; its safety index ranks among the top in the city."

Liu Hao saw Ge Bai paying attention to the spirit-power detection device and explained a bit.

Inside the complex, the greenery is excellent, vegetation lush, and the woods are full of bird and insect sounds—nothing is missing.

Looking around, the complex has no overly tall buildings; each is a separate house with its own yard.

"They're all little villas."

Liu Hao nodded: "You want the place to come with a training field, and you need both above- and below-ground space; to meet your requirements, any rental has to be a villa."

"Don't think that because this is a villa district it's far from the city; it's actually not far."

"The hill occupied by the villa district is Jinggang City's permanently preserved hill; go out the complex gate, turn a corner, go down the hill and you're in the bustling downtown—it's basically finding tranquility in the midst of noise."

Liu Hao is extraordinarily meticulous; he thinks of everything for Ge Bai.

They hadn't walked far before stopping in front of a courtyard; Liu Hao pulled out his keys from his pocket, opened the door, and walked into the house.

"Come take a look: the small building has three floors; the first floor has a high ceiling, done quite well. Besides the living room, the back connects to the small garden, and the previous owner remodeled it into a training room."

"The basement and the third floor are both training areas." As soon as Ge Bai entered, he was shocked by the huge, spacious training room.

The first-floor training room is specially decorated—not luxurious, but from floor to walls to ceiling, the materials used and the design details are highly professional.

"The previous owner of this villa was a professional arena competitor; the whole villa was built from the ground up. After living there less than two years, the previous owner went on a circuit tour, leaving the villa vacant."

That landlord really knows his stuff.

"Come on, let me take you down to the basement."

Liu Hao stood by the elevator and called Ge Bai over.

Although it's a basement, the ventilation and lighting are quite good.

The courtyard in the middle of the basement brings in natural light, making the whole space exceptionally transparent and bright.

Various instruments of all sizes are placed around, some for auxiliary training, some for testing spirit power; at a glance, Ge Bai couldn't tell the function of all the equipment.

"Also worth mentioning: all the instruments in the house are still under warranty, with professionals coming every two months to service and calibrate the equipment." Liu Hao had thought of this for Ge Bai too, saying, "I think you'll really need this service."

"We really need it!"

Hearing Liu Hao say that, Ge Bai's eyes lit up.

That way, not only would we save money on buying equipment, but we'd also save on maintenance costs.

"The price is already as low as it gets: 70,000 alliance coins per month, paid annually."

Hearing that price, Ge Bai couldn't help but click his tongue.

Liu Hao sighed,

"There's nothing to be done; rents around here aren't cheap—even an unremarkable place runs fifty to sixty thousand a month."

Ge Bai knew Liu Hao must have searched high and low to find this place.

"Okay, Haozi, we'll take this one." Ge Bai, worried Liu Hao wouldn't ask her for a fee, had already looked into it beforehand: "How much is the commission? 1%? I'll transfer the money to your account, and I'll leave the rest to you."

Seeing Ge Bai ask so clearly, Liu Hao laughed and shook his head.

"Okay, you don't need to worry about anything else."

Liu Hao handed the key to Ge Bai.

You'll be able to move in tomorrow; in a bit I'll call a cleaning service for the new place, the company still has some complimentary services, I've taken care of everything today.

Ge Bai took the key, laughing heartily.

"No need for all that trouble."

Liu Hao shook his head firmly.

"Yes, a girl living on her own should still keep things refined."

Hearing Liu Hao say that, Ge Bai laughed even more brightly; it had been a long time since she remembered she was a girl.

"Take another look around, I'm heading back to the office first."

"There are still a bunch of procedures after the rental; Liu Hao is busy with them."

Ge Bai climbed up to the rooftop alone, stood on the villa's terrace, and called out Da Liu, Qian Dai, and Xiao Tao.

"Come take a look, this is our new home."

As soon as the three little ones came out, they excitedly looked around in all directions.

"Bai Bai, the space is huge—I love the backyard."

Da Liu immediately took a liking to the small garden behind the first floor; following Da Liu's pointed direction, Ge Bai glanced over and felt something was off.

Looking closely, she couldn't help but sigh at how wealthy and generous the landlord was.

Even the soil in the yard contained abundant spiritual energy; it must have been specially treated with spiritual nutrient solution, making her feel her money was well spent.
