Chapter 16: Come help, save us!

Hu Cuicui saw Qiao Sheng was so capable, she drew back her foot; even her own husband was no match for her.

How could she be her opponent?

Bai Zhaodi and Qiao Shanshui had never thought of such things; they as a couple now only wanted to capture Qiao Sheng and give her a good beating.

The two of them lunged at Qiao Sheng together.

Qiao Sheng narrowed her eyes, leading them toward a sloping spot.

As Bai Zhaodi and the others lunged forward,

Qiao Sheng dodged to one side; Bai Zhaodi and Qiao Shanshui both toppled, rolling into someone else's field, and soon their cries of pain came from the field, obviously injured.

Serves them right!

"Qiao Lianhua, go ahead and try to strike again!"

Qiao Sheng looked over and saw Qiao Heshui and Hu Cuicui, each choking the neck of Xiao Shitou and Qiao Xuehua respectively.

Threatening her?

Well done!

Don't let her find an opening, or she'll surely give them a harsh beating.

"Big sister, don't worry about us, hurry up and leave!"

Qiao Xuehua shouted.

Xiao Shitou followed, saying: "Right, Mom, you go quickly."

Leave?

How could she possibly leave!

Qiao Sheng hadn't yet decided what to do.

Qiao Heshui said, "Qiao Lianhua, if you dare to leave, I'll soon throw them into the mountains to feed the wolves."

Xiao Shitou panicked, lowered his head and bit hard on Qiao Heshui's hand.

Qiao Heshui winced and instantly released his grip.

Xiao Shitou butted Hu Cuicui aside with his head, grabbed Qiao Xuehua, and ran toward where Qiao Sheng was.

It was just then.

Bai Zhaodi picked up a medium-sized stone and threw it over from one side.

"Watch out!"

Qiao Sheng rushed over and blocked in front of Xiao Shitou and the others.

The stone struck Qiao Sheng's head, and blood instantly spilled out.

"Big sister!"

"Mom!"

Bai Zhaodi had intended to hit Xiao Shitou and the others' legs, but ended up striking Qiao Sheng's head, causing her face to turn pale.

"I, I didn't mean to hit the head."

Qiao Sheng quickly took off her outer garment and tied it around her head.

Seeing the blood that wouldn't stop, Qiao Xuehua and Xiao Shitou panicked and shouted loudly.

"Come help, save us!"

Bai Zhaodi turned and fled, not daring to stay any longer.

Qiao Heshui and Hu Cuicui were unwilling to let it go, and they started fighting again.

Xiao Shitou picked up a stone and threw it over.

Qiao Xuehua also threw stones at them.

This kept them from being able to approach for a moment.

Qiao Heshui noticed his elder brother standing aside without acting, and angrily said, "Big brother, what are you just standing there for? Get moving—we'll surround them from this side, you from that side."

Qiao Sheng's head was spinning badly, she even felt like vomiting, and she thought she might have gotten a concussion from Bai Zhaodi's blow.

She thought of the spirit spring water in her space.

Qiao Sheng hurriedly took some out to drink; she wasn't actually sure if it would work, but she had to try to find out, right?

"Don't say."

"It's actually quite useful."

After drinking it, not long passed.

Qiao Sheng instantly felt her nausea subside and her head less dizzy; she rose, protecting Xiao Shitou and the others while sparring with Qiao Heshui and his group.

Because Xiao Shitou and the others kept shouting,

many villagers were awakened by their noise.

Not long after,

someone came over holding a torch.

Qiao Heshui and his group now dared do nothing else; they turned and ran.

The Village Head also arrived; he and the villagers happened to see them fleeing.

Qiao Sheng took the opportunity, looking weak, to say to the Village Head: "Village Head Grandfather, it's good you all arrived in time, otherwise we might have died at their hands."

The Village Head asked Qiao Sheng: "What's going on?"
