Chapter 191: Doctor Feng Yi
There isn't a single patient in this clinic right now, only two medicine boys and a doctor.
The two medicine boys are sweeping the floor.
The doctor is bent over, sorting things.
He catches a glimpse of Qiao Sheng and the others arriving.
One of the medicine boys greets them, "Ladies, are you here to see a doctor or to get Medicine?"
"To have her face examined."
Qiao Sheng glanced at Xia Yue beside her and said.
The medicine boy, seeing that Xia Yue's facial wound was severe, opened his mouth and shouted, "Master, come quickly and look, her face is badly injured."
At that moment, the doctor who had been bent over lifted his head.
He seemed to be about twenty‑five, dressed in a white robe, a simple wooden hairpin bound in his hair; his features weren't especially handsome, yet he gave off a gentle, jade‑like feeling.
"It's you."
Xia Yue recognized him at a glance.
Chun Xue also recognized him: "Master, this doctor is the same one who previously examined my sister's face; the shopkeeper of the tooth shop asked him to see my sister there."
Feng Yi also recognized the two sisters; he walked over, examined Xia Yue and asked, "What's wrong with your face? Why is it getting worse?"
Xia Yue lowered her head.
Seeing her younger sister keep her head down in silence, Chun Xue said, "It's this: my sister feared that if she recovered she'd be sold to that kind of family again, so she removed the applied Medicine…"
"You're practically courting death!"
Feng Yi said a few words to Xia Yue, then invited them to sit, called a medicine boy to bring his medicine box, and began treating her facial wounds again.
After a round of treatment.
Xia Yue's face hurt so much that tears filled her eyes, but since she caused it herself, she didn't cry out despite the pain.
Feng Yi packed away the items and said, "I've treated your face again. If you keep messing around, don't come to me. I can't save you."
That doctor is really straightforward.
Qiao Sheng stood up and said, "Doctor, I'd like to talk with you for a moment."
Feng Yi was a bit surprised but still followed Qiao Sheng as they walked to the side.
Qiao Sheng stopped, turned around and asked, "Doctor, how is Xia Yue's face? Is it still treatable? I mean, will it leave a scar…"
"What's your relationship with her?"
Feng Yi didn't answer, but asked back.
Qiao Sheng told him truthfully.
She knew her face was badly wounded yet still bought.
For what purpose?
Could it be that she's trying to do a daily good deed?
Feng Yi thought to himself, then said, "Her face is badly injured, and after what she's been through, it's unlikely she can avoid a scar."
"Alright, I understand. Treat her however you see fit."
Qiao Sheng said to Feng Yi.
Feng Yi returned to his seat, called Xia Yue over to take her pulse, and then wrote the prescription.
For the Medicine to be taken, he prescribed a five‑day course, twice daily.
For the topical Medicine, he gave a small jar.
Feng Yi told Qiao Sheng to bring Xia Yue back here after five days; if she's not fully healed, he'll take her pulse again and see whether to adjust the prescription.
The five‑day Medicine isn't expensive—only 150 wen; the topical Medicine costs more, a tael of silver per small jar.
They left the clinic.
Not far after stepping out,
Chun Xue immediately led her sister Xia Yue to kneel before Qiao Sheng.
"Master, thank you, thank you…"
Qiao Sheng said in a voice neither loud nor soft, "Alright, stand up. From now on don't kneel at the slightest thing; if you keep doing this, people will think I'm being harsh to you. If you truly want to thank me, just do what I ask you to do."
