527. Chapter 527: Being Used as a Gun

Commander Li nodded.

Ye Jin Ying was unwilling to let it end there; he shouted, "Commander Li, you can't just leave like that. They must have had someone hide the imperial dragon robe elsewhere."

Hearing that,

Commander Li looked at Ye Jin Ying and said in a moderate tone, "Lord Ye, you have surrounded the entire Lanxiang Embroidery Workshop; where could they possibly hide it?"

Without waiting for him to speak,

Commander Li continued, "Lord Ye, you must explain this matter to the Emperor yourself today."

Having said that,

Commander Li left this place without looking back, taking his men.

Ye Jin Ying was so angry that both his hands clenched into fists.

Shi Lin raised an eyebrow lightly and asked Ye Jin Ying, "Lord Ye, shall we continue the search?"

Ye Jin Ying glanced at his few close aides and saw them all shake their heads.

He turned and left.

How could Shi Lin let Ye Jin Ying walk away like that?

He hurriedly blocked his path and said, "Lord Ye, you hear the wind as rain; you said to search, so we searched. Now that the imperial dragon robe hasn't been found, shouldn't you apologize to us?"

Ye Jin Ying gritted his teeth and apologized.

"Sorry."

Qiao Sheng, standing nearby, said, "Lord Ye, is this an apology? It looks to me like you're trying to eat us up."

"I haven't."

"I'm sorry."

Ye Jin Ying tightened his grip, trying to make his expression look better, and his tone was a few degrees softer than before.

Shi Lin pressed on, "Who are you apologizing to?"

"Can't even say a word clearly."

Qiao Sheng echoed.

Seeing the couple harmonizing, Ye Jin Ying was very angry; if the current dispute weren't unreasonable, he couldn't beat Shi Lin, and he would have given each of them a kick.

"I apologize to you both."

Qiao Sheng was satisfied, "That's more like it."

Ye Jin Ying was just about to leave.

Shi Lin spoke, "Lord Ye, let's go, we'll enter the palace together. Oh, and bring the person who reported, I want to see exactly who that person is…"

Ye Jin Ying's expression involuntarily froze.

He replied, "I haven't seen the reporter, because the report was made by letter; a letter was left at the gate of my residence and then the person left."

"So Lord Ye was being used as a gun?"

Shi Lin murmured to Qiao Sheng, "Wife, we must be smarter in the future; otherwise, if we're also used as a gun, what can we do?"

"My husband says it right."

Qiao Sheng nodded in agreement.

Ye Jin Ying bit Shi Lin's heart in one bite.

Quickly.

They entered the palace together.

The Emperor summoned them at his residence, Jade Spring Palace.

Ye Jin Ying and Shi Lin stepped forward into the main hall, and both performed the court salute to the Emperor.

"No formalities, rise all."

The Emperor's gaze fell on Ye Jin Ying and asked, "Lord Ye, what exactly happened with today's matter?"

Ye Jin Ying began to speak according to his own prepared explanation.

"Your Majesty, here's what happened. Tonight, my wife and I were chatting when we heard someone say that there was a knock at the door outside. We went out but saw no one, only a letter. The letter claimed that the Lanxiang Embroidery Workshop and members of the Shi family were colluding to illegally forge an imperial dragon robe. When I heard that, I was outraged and immediately led men to the place, but it turned out not to be the case at all. Now I think someone must be trying to frame them, or perhaps frame us, and thus orchestrated this incident…"

The Emperor, expressionless, asked, "Where is the letter?"

Ye Jin Ying took the letter from his chest and handed it to the chief eunuch attending the Emperor.

The chief eunuch received the letter and presented it to the Emperor.

The Emperor took the letter, opened it and read it line by line. After finishing, he said coldly, "Lord Ye, because of a single letter you stormed in to conduct a search; do you still have any regard for me?"
