532. Chapter 532 You Still Have Us

Ouyang Zhi finally understood why the water Qiao Sheng gave her tasted different from water elsewhere.

She was curious but did not ask.

Who doesn't have a few secrets?

Qiao Sheng wanted to keep Ouyang Zhi alive, but the Spirit Spring Water had little effect on her now.

It could only be a little better than before.

Shi Yun came running in, crying: "Grandma…"

"Yun'er."

Ouyang Zhi looked at Shi Yun, who had grown significantly taller and become thinner yet sturdier than before, and she felt an indescribable joy.

She had not misjudged the person; Qiao Sheng was someone worthy of trust.

Shi Yun wiped his tears, sat beside the bed, and asked her: "Grandma, Sister Yin Li said your health is very poor—what exactly happened?"

"Grandma is old."

Ouyang Zhi explained.

"No."

Shi Yun said and then proceeded to take Ouyang Zhi's pulse.

Ouyang Zhi grabbed his hand: "Yun'er, don't follow Grandma's path; study hard, do well in the imperial examinations, become a highly respected official. Of course, if you don't want to be an official, you could go into business or something…"

She only wished for Shi Yun to live a happy life.

"No."

Shi Yun still wanted to take Ouyang Zhi's pulse.

Ouyang Zhi could not stop him, so she finally let him do it.

She also wanted to see how well Shi Yun's self‑studied medical skills were.

Shi Yun had only dabbled in a few poisons; he could not tell what poison Ouyang Zhi had taken, but he could tell she had been poisoned.

"Grandma, what poison did you take, and who gave it to you?"

"Ou Yang Grandma, you should just tell Shi Yun the truth."

Qiao Sheng urged Ouyang Zhi.

Ouyang Zhi fell silent for a moment, then agreed.

As she spoke, she began to vomit blood again.

Shi Yun cried uncontrollably and begged Qiao Sheng to fetch a doctor.

Ouyang Zhi stopped him: "Yun'er, I am famous in the jianghu; I can't even cure myself, let alone others. Besides, Ah Sheng has already summoned an Imperial Doctor for me…"

She had only said a few words.

Shi Lin returned, uneasy, and made another trip to the palace, bringing most of the Imperial Doctors with him.

After they took her pulse, the result was undoubtedly the same.

Ouyang Zhi had something she wanted to say to Shi Yun alone, so Qiao Sheng had everyone else leave.

They waited outside for less than half an hour when Shi Yun's wailing came from the room, making everyone unable to hold back tears.

Qiao Sheng wiped her tears and pushed the door open.

At that moment, Shi Yun was lying on his grandmother's body.

He shook his grandmother while crying sadly: "Grandma, Grandma, how could you abandon me? You are my only relative in this world; without you, what should I do, what should I do…"

"Shi Yun…"

Qiao Sheng didn't quite know how to comfort him.

Shi Yun turned his head to look at Qiao Sheng; large tears streamed down, and both his eyes were bloodshot.

Qiao Sheng thought for a moment, then stepped forward and hugged him.

"Shi Yun, you still have us."

Shi Yun flung himself into Qiao Sheng's arms and cried even more sorrowfully.

Shi Lin walked in just in time to see this, but this time he bore no grudge; he merely glanced, then left, and afterward arranged for people to help handle Shi Yun's grandmother's funeral.

Na Lan Ruo Lan and the others heard that Ouyang Zhi had died and hurried over.

Friends for many years.

She was even younger than me.

And yet she passed away before me.

Na Lan Ruo Lan could not say she wasn't upset; she burst into tears before long.

Feng Qingyang worried she would hurt her health, so he advised her while gesturing for Qiao Sheng to help persuade her.

With Qiao Sheng's help.

Only then did Na Lan Ruo Lan's emotions gradually stabilize.

Ouyang Zhi's funeral was held at Shi Lin's separate villa; she had no relatives in the Imperial Capital and few friends, so only Na Lan Ruo Lan and her group, plus Qiao Hushui and his group, came.
