Chapter 51: Kicking the Hall
All the way there, the taxi driver wanted to say something but couldn't, and his face turned bright red.
After a little over an hour, they arrived at Anwu City.
Lu Jing, bored out of his mind, looked out the window.
Suddenly, he saw the familiar Tianyi Martial Hall surrounded by a crowd, its entrance in disarray, as if a fight had broken out.
"Master, let's stop here."
The taxi driver flinched and hurriedly slammed on the brakes.
Lu Jing got out, took a photo with the driver, and strode toward the hall.
Pushing through the crowd, Lu Jing finally saw Tianyi Martial Hall's sign smashed on the ground, with two rows of black‑clad hulks standing at the entrance.
"Even the halls are fighting each other; that's just despicable."
"Exactly, I heard several staff members of Tianyi Martial Hall were injured and are still lying inside!"
"All they do is brawl in the back rooms; if they're capable, why not fight on the battlefield or slay Demon Beasts? All they know is making money off us common folk!"
"Yeah, buying anything at a hall from now on will be a nerve‑wracking affair!"
The onlookers chatted back and forth, their words leaving Lu Jing feeling bewildered.
"Sister, what happened here?"
A woman watching the scene looked up and saw a tall, exceptionally charismatic young man staring at her and asking.
The youth's fair face was strikingly handsome, with bright eyes and dazzling teeth, leaving the woman momentarily entranced.
She answered instinctively: "It seems Tianyi Martial Hall recently used a prodigy youth's name to run a tutoring class, the business boomed, and a nearby hall lost customers, so they sent people to cause trouble!"
Lu Jing frowned, "Isn't the Hall Director of Tianyi Martial Hall here? How can these people run amok?"
"He's here, but was injured by the director of another hall; I heard he's a Four-Realms Warrior, extremely powerful!"
An older man nearby leaned in and said, "Kid, are you here to sign up for the tutoring class? I'd advise against it; Tianyi Martial Hall might be replaced, and the headquarters permits armed competition between branches."
Lu Jing smiled, "I actually want them to help forge weapons."
The older man suddenly understood, "Oh, then you'll have to wait a while; these two groups don't know when they'll stop fighting..."
"Hey, kid, where are you going!"
The older man kept talking to himself, when Lu Jing strode inside.
"Sigh, that kid is really jumping into a fire pit; those inside can't even escape!"
"Ah!"
At that moment, the middle‑aged woman whom Lu Jing had just questioned suddenly let out a scream.
"That person seems to be the prodigy teen reported on TV! Tianyi Martial Hall only attracted so many students by using his name!"
"Whoa, the real master is here; those two groups are fighting because of him!"
The crowd erupted in heated discussion again, only this time the focus had shifted to Lu Jing.
Under the gaze of the two rows of black‑clad hulks at the doorway, Lu Jing marched inside.
The interior of the hall was somewhat better than Lu Jing had imagined.
The counter had been shoved into a corner, leaving a hundred‑square‑meter open space in the lobby.
On the open area, two squads faced each other, red blood spattered across the ground, its source unknown.
Lu Jing stood at the entrance and observed for a while; everyone's attention was on the opponent, and they didn't notice his arrival.
Lu Jing moved to one side, approached one of the squads, and stood behind a curvaceous woman in a cheongsam.
"Hello!"
Lu Jing greeted with a shout, startling the woman.
Yu Mei, looking nervous and glancing around, was suddenly shouted at from behind; she shivered, a sudden urge to urinate surged, and she quickly clenched her legs.
"Why is it you?"
She turned, saw Lu Jing, and breathed a sigh of relief; she had thought someone was going to hit her.
"Great, I'll notify the Hall Director right away..."
However, before she could speak, a strong hand from behind covered her mouth.
"Don't make a sound first."
Lu Jing made a shushing gesture, signaling Yu Mei to keep quiet.
Yu Mei nodded, feeling Lu Jing's distinctly masculine aura; her body softened involuntarily and she leaned into his embrace.
Lu Jing didn't notice Yu Mei's subtle movement; his gaze fixed on the opposite side, where several muscular hulks stood.
These men all wore black; they were from the Five-Mile-Outside Earth Demon Martial Hall.
"We originally came to reason today, but you all have gone too far!"
At the front of the black‑clad group sat a burly man, chest exposed, showing a slash scar running from his collarbone to his navel—truly terrifying.
"This is the Hall Director Wu Zhiguo of the Earth Demon Martial Hall, and he's very powerful."
Yu Mei pressed her mouth to Lu Jing's ear and whispered.
The scent she exhaled made Lu Jing's heart itch.
Lu Jing had heard of Wu Zhiguo; in the small city of Anwu, aside from the Martial Association President, the Hall Directors are the strongest.
Among those directors, Wu Zhiguo is relatively well‑known.
He has been in the Four Realms for many years, his Blood Qi dense and long, his strength far surpassing ordinary Four‑Realms practitioners.
Opposite Wu Zhiguo, Tianyi Martial Hall Director Zhang Qingyang was being helped, his face full of resentment.
Besides Zhang Qingyang's injuries, many security staff lay on the ground, bruised and battered, sprawled in all directions.
"Zhang Qingyang, you handled this terribly," Wu Zhiguo sneered, "Although you recruited Lu Jing, he belongs to the Hall headquarters, not to your exclusive representation. On what grounds do you use his name to compete with me for business everywhere?"
Zhang Qingyang's face darkened; gritting his teeth, he said, "I admit I'm at fault, but the headquarters said nothing. On what authority do you question me?"
What do you mean? Just because my fists are harder than yours!
Wu Zhiguo spoke in a deep voice, rising from his chair.
Standing nearly two meters tall with knotted muscles, he looked very intimidating.
Especially the long scar on his chest, like a demon's eye, rising and falling with his breath.
Hearing Zhang Qingyang's words, he grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth.
"I came here today just to settle three things...... fairness, fairness, or damn fairness!"
Wu Zhiguo pointed his index finger at Zhang Qingyang, "How come the talent nurtured by the headquarters is monopolized by you alone?"
"Wu Zhiguo, you speak so righteously, but aren't you just a petty person? Coming to challenge the hall while I'm wounded and my Blood Qi is impaired—what kind of hero is that?"
Zhang Qingyang clutched his chest, his Blood Qi surging uncontrollably inside.
He had gone to settle a personal grudge not long ago, which left him seriously injured, his strength less than half of what it was, and that's why he lost to Wu Zhiguo.
"Hah, bullshit hero, I'm gonna be a warlord!"
Wu Zhiguo laughed loudly, saying, "After today, Tianyi Martial Hall can be shut down; I'll apply to the headquarters to have a new hall master assigned."
"Impossible!"
