Chapter 113
For her, this was the most interesting time of the day.
If possible, she would certainly be willing to stay in front of the light screen all day, watching the bizarre and fantastical stories of the Foundation and getting to know one stranger after another whom she had never met.
But this was just her occasional little fantasy.
In the "Family," there were still many small robots waiting to be repaired; she needed to constantly search for spare parts that might come in handy, just in case, to prevent the robots from never being able to start again.
As for this new program, although Clara had missed a portion of it.
Svarog had thoughtfully recorded it for her.
And so.
Looking at the interstellar fleet that seemed capable of filling the entire universe, Clara's eyes were filled with radiance.
She asked the big mechanical guy standing to the side excitedly:
"Mr. Svarog, if the Foundation is able to help everyone, could they solve the problem of the Eternal Freeze?"
Svarog's red monocular eye stared at the Foundation's fleet, and its emotionless tone stated its calculation results:
"Accessing database... No similar starships retrieved. Analysis result: None. Background: Unknown. Classification: Unknown information."
"Accessing database, retrieving similar results—'Star Destroyer.' Analysis result: Capable of annihilating planets, unable to solve the Eternal Freeze."
"... Analysis result: Capable of evacuating all humans to avoid the Eternal Freeze, unable to solve the Eternal Freeze."
"Apologies, Clara. Based on what I know, the Foundation can take everyone away from this planet, but they cannot solve the Eternal Freeze."
This was not the result Clara had hoped for.
No one was willing to leave their hometown and become a wanderer among the stars.
However, compared to the result calculated by Mr. Svarog—that the people on this planet could not solve the Eternal Freeze on their own—this outcome was much better.
"Mr. Svarog, can we try to contact the Foundation?"
In a rare move, Svarog gave an answer without performing a calculation:
"It cannot be done, Clara."
It turned to look at the core of the entire underground world, the massive structure that the people of the Belobog Underworld saw every day.
"Although the Foundation allows us to see their live broadcasts, we do not possess such technology."
"We lack suitable transmission equipment, sufficient power supply, large enough antennas, and we do not know where in this universe the Foundation actually is."
"Gathering all the resources of the Underworld might allow us to build simple equipment to explain Belobog's plight to the universe, but this would accelerate the death of the Underworld."
"This contradicts the directive to 'Preserve' the Underworld."
Clara shook her head obediently:
"It doesn't matter, Mr. Svarog, there must be other ways!"
The scene switched.
First Expeditionary Legion, General Flagship.
"Can you confirm the authenticity and accuracy of the intelligence?"
The Legion Commander was somewhat agitated; even his tone had risen by two octaves.
"Yes, my lord Legion Commander."
Facing the majesty of the Legion Commander, the Intelligence Officer was very certain, without a hint of nervousness.
He felt no dissatisfaction with the Legion Commander's questioning.
Although he was also a veteran of over a hundred years and had followed the Legion Commander for more than a century.
But this did not mean that the Legion Commander doubted his loyalty and ability.
Rather, this intelligence was too important, forcing the Legion Commander to be cautious.
The Astartes had found a Gate to Another World.
It led to the "Center of the World"—that strange space with eerie cylinders and a large number of discs similar to "Red Sea Objects."
There, the Astartes saw many souls.
Only, these souls could not be observed by the naked eye and could only be displayed through instruments.
That place seemed eerie and dangerous.
The Astartes did not venture deeper and withdrew in time, bringing the intelligence back.
"... I need to report this intelligence to the Administrator immediately."
The Legion Commander said to the Intelligence Officer.
"Understood."
The Intelligence Officer responded quickly and then stepped aside.
Before long, the bright red "SOUNDONLY" appeared on the massive screen in the command room.
The Legion Commander had just opened his mouth when he heard the Administrator's voice:
"I am already aware of your purpose, and I am already aware of your concerns."
"Masters of the 'Psionic' field have already departed; they will rendezvous with the Expeditionary Force shortly."
"I believe they will give us the answer."
Subsequently, "SOUNDONLY" disappeared, and the massive screen returned to the battle map; the conversation had ended.
On the battle map, the red areas marked as "The Unclean" were disappearing piece by piece, like snowflakes falling into boiling water.
The Legion Commander did not say a word, yet all the questions in his heart had been answered.
He felt as if his entire body and soul were completely exposed to the gaze of the Administrator, with no secrets to speak of.
This was the power of the "Psionic" field.
As the highest command tower of the Foundation.
The Administrator could read the thoughts of everyone who walked the Path of "Psionics."
Even if a person was not on this path, the Administrator could use "Psionics" to penetrate the thoughts of other life forms, achieving mutual knowledge, mutual feeling, and mutual thought.
The Legion Commander couldn't help but exclaim:
"The Administrator's power in the 'Psionic' field has increased again."
Afterwards, he regained his calm and looked at the ship captain behind the Intelligence Officer:
"Have the warriors prepare their defenses and ensure that the gate does not have any issues before the reinforcements arrive!"
"By your command!"
Feeling like I'm going to die when the plane hits strong turbulence...
